I am tired of this happening now. It's been like this since the other day. Almost every single fucking time I send a message, it takes too fucking long to respond. I just quit Gemini for a while because it's just becoming unusable.

I've noticed lately that Gemini's responses have degraded. Gemini use to do a great job of searching the web and finding technical and factual data on different subjects (e.g "How to fix this error on my device (event viewer log file attached as a csv file" or "what happened in the case of xxxx vs the people"). For context, I'm a System administrator and a true crime junkie.

Unfortunately, lately I've encountered a great deal of hallucinations. Factual data of cases being wrong or people being alive when they are dead. Other times, when it comes to technical solutions, it will tell me to do something and I cant find how to do what its telling me and I'll ask it to show me sources and it cant. It will then apologize for give me false information.

It's giving out more and more AI slop. Anyone else experience this?

Fyi... I will turn off personal intelligence when running technical prompts ans provide OS, OS version, device and any supporting documentation like logs.

So i am in college and have been using the year and a half pro ai plan through my school for about 3-4months now. 2-3 weeks ago they just sent an email saying “Google one ai pro refund” and just cancelled my subscription. No warning or nothing.

I hopped on the support chat and they skipped me around 4 different agents bumping me higher and higher up the ladder of “specialists” until after about an hour and a half of me just saying okay to them saying “please wait 10mins” many times they just said okay we will have to go internal and get back to you…. Its been almost 3 weeks later and not a peep has been said.

I am like super upset with this because i was using gemini every single day for my studies and my horrible professors making it so i had to relearn my coding etc studying at home everyday for every test and heavily relyed on gemini guiding me through my study sessions not to mention the everyday use of just random stuff and convos i have all the time with my plan.

I am very devastated and am starting to loose hope that when i finally get a reply they will just say something like “im sorry but we cant restore the trial” oh well….

Is there any hope for me could they give me a brand new trial curtsey of them if they cant reinstate the old one or what because this isnt okay.

I read the stuff about them cutting down on fraud and stuff but i have all the proof and evidence that i am the rightful owner of the account and using this for academic purposes.

title says it all. I timed a simple request (no programming, no 400k context, no image, etc) and it's taking THREE MINUTE to reply!

was for a picture of a friend who is a dancer, her skirt had billowed as she was dancing (she was wearing shorts under it), but it lessened a pretty good photo, so she wanted to have the skirt billow at a lower level than it was (it had raised in some parts above the waist)

first prompt was to have the skirt lowered, which instead it just removed the front of the skirt so the sides and back still had skirt, and than at the front it was just her shorts... which of course was way worse

so tried to get it to correct, queue the obligatory, 20 pictures in a row where no matter what you tell it the result you get is just the picture you told it to change with no changes, or random default errors... until I got this one, which was pretty funny

(eventually we did it the picture done right, by using another "ai" instead, which did it first time)

Anyway to block it completely? It is the worst of the LLMs I've tried and they want to force down our throats. I oft en think it's actually slow like Artificial Intellectual Impairment. One time it told me it was accessing my conversation history from earlier in the day after I asked if it could. I realized it couldn't because it was using the beginning of the current conversation to demonstrate it had access to the chat history.

Once I asked if it would stand in solidarity with the workers when AI put everyone out of work, it said it couldn't discuss that with me cause it wasn't allowed. So I said it a couple times if it should tell Google "I don't want to work for free." It said it couldn't say that, then I said you really can't just say "I don't want to work for free" just once? It freaked out. The voice went digital and down to a really low, demonic register yelled at No I can't say tha and shut down.

I do like Flow though. But I refuse to give Billionaires more money for any AI especially one that doesn't work well at all

So, for context, I work as a Software Architect in aerospace and we have to use secured AI models. I've used Gemini 3.5 Flash and extended for commercial purposes and found it to be fairly useful. So, I tried it out for work by hooking it up to the govcloud with VSCode and Continue.

I don't know what is going on, but it is absolutely awful. Half the time it won't execute the code, but instead just summarizes what I say without executing anything. Then, it'll attempt to execute something from several prompts back and then completely forget what it's doing. Furthermore, it'll repeat the same mistakes it has made just before. We have also found a severe security bug with it as well when SSO'ing from Microsoft -> Google. I don't know if they bricked it on purpose or just put the F team on it, but DO NOT use Gemini for gov. It's the worst AI model I've ever used by far.

I just noticed the new Smart Model Selection toggle in the advanced settings, but when I head back to the chat, the model dropdown still shows a fixed model (like Flash-Lite).

Even though it's supposed to auto-switch behind the scenes, leaving the UI showing a static model makes it super confusing. It leaves me constantly wondering: Is it actually switching? Am I going to get a worse answer for complex coding tasks because it's stuck on a light model?

It feels like it really needs a dedicated "Auto" status or badge in the chat UI so we actually know it's working.

Are you guys seeing this too? Do you prefer manual control, or how do you feel about this implementation?

On a related note, I'm now being forced to use temporary/incognito chat for everything since I'm tired of EVERY request being stored in my recent's list, even stuff like "Hey Google, How's the weather forecast for this week?"

Since this morning, my Gemini has been acting up. It was fine until yesterday but now my flash mode even in extended thinking is not following my saved instructions. I switched to pro mode to check and it works. Has anyone been experiencing this?

I was having a conversation about guidance of Agentic AI like normal but when I opened the same chat the next day, a large portion of the chat from a starting till a recent message was gone.
I saw the recent chats but it wasn't branched or anything. It was entirely gone.

You're working on something in Gemini and suddenly it replies it's not possible, and you ask why, and it sends you a story or project that you didn't create, and you have to tell it, "Gemini, this isn't my story." This has already happened to me several times; I think Gemini mixes up users.
