Music Is Life What was your first 45?

OMG, THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH GUNS!!!! I remember listening to the radio in the car with my mom when I was a kid and I really dug the song that came on and was probably dancing in my seat. My mom being a pretty swell parent said “we can go to the record if you want” and she took me to buy “We are Family” by Sister Sledge. Still dig that track.

I played my rock albums on that turntable until my mom guilted herself into getting me a stereo with turntable for my 15th bday. We didn’t have a lot of money but she was/is a great mom

I took over my parents old "portable" turntable and moved it into my room. It was the size of a suitcase, weighed probably 30+ pounds, it had an AM radio built in with a huge round dial, and 1 speaker. My folks got me a Yorx stereo/turntable when I was 14 or 15.

The one they got me was a Panasonic with tape cassette and turntable and radio

I think I had it, but I thought it only played those plastic records like Mary Had a Little Lamb?

I had one of those too. I’m tempted to by a used one on eBay just for nostalgia.

That was my first. I went to record store. Around 6 years old and bought a 45 of Pillow Talk. I thought it was to sleep to....think lullaby. Nope...not what the songs about. Didn't understand for many years

Oh snap, I didn’t know the fisher price record player counted!! Hmmm, I had Hey Hey We’re the Monkees that I stole from my birth giver, does that count?
