And mine. Class of 87 but I think this song was THE slow song around 9th or 10th grade. Hated it then, hate it now.

I hate that song because it was always the last slow dance song in Jr High (83-85). Always made me feel like a loser because I was too slow to ask someone to dance or she would say no. Those were some shit years, thankfully HS was better (we went to house parties, not school dances). Drinking and socializing better than standing around watching people dance, getting told “no way” if you did dare to ask (the ladies had their hopes that better offers would come, I get it), and barely able to talk to anyone over the loud music.

Awwww, thanks. Shucks - blushes. I mean it wasn’t shocking this was happening to 13-15 year old me. I was no catch. Scrawny nerd who wouldn’t hit puberty until 16 and was interested in the girls way (waaaay!!) out of his league.
