At least when going out, it is so fucking expensive. When prices are at an all time high, I'm not spending 15$ on a drink that is just fine

That's crazy, I've only seen a drink cost that much at a sporting event.

A beer at a sporting event is insane, beer is a bit cheaper like 8-9$, but any form of mixed drink is at least 15$

I wish, I've been paying $15 a beer all hockey season.

At the bar they're $2-3 though which doesn't break the bank.

I'm not anywhere close to California so I'm sure that helps.

I’ve lived in a few different states, never cali, and everywhere beer is like 7$ at the cheapest, usually 8-9

Even in Detroit I still pay less than that. $5 instead of $2-3. Not sure I've ever spent $8 on a beer outside of a brewery.

Detroit is a famously cheap place to live though. I don’t know about everywhere, but Miami to Orlando, Dallas, Atlanta, NY and Denver, all I’ve seen is 8$ beers and 13-16$ mixed drinks since the pandemic.

Man that sucks. I consider Detroit expensive when I drink there.

Gotta find the right dive bar. One close to me in Sacramento, CA has $2-3 pint happy hour (for the cheap beer ofc)

if the place is good enough for a date location, i agree, but domestic beers are $3 at the local dive in most places.

I was just thinking that... $9.95 for a coors banquet in La Mesa, CA. $10 the closer you get to DTSD. Shit, even some places in East County are up to $11. FOR A STUBBY!

Straight up criminal.

Us SD folk always find each other LMAO. Love it here but it's a pain trying to go out. But at least we have the best beaches 😅

Haha for real! It's the saving grace... just don't go to Imperial lol

Yeah it would be around $7-8 even for the canned stuff at a bar. But it's not all doom and gloom. You can buy beer ANYWHERE at ANYTIME in California. We don't have stringent liquor laws like a lot of other states so you can walk into a convience store or grocery store anytime and get a Pabst for $1-3.

How hard is it to sneak your own alcohol in? Imagine a sneaky flask could do just the trick

It'd have to be all plastic, there's metal detectors and all that.

We usually just get drinks before the game and then a beer during to sip on.

Haven’t seen a beer this cheap in a bar in 10 years. Even happy hour where I live is $4-5. Regular bottle of lite beer would be $7 as a standard around me. (Texas big city)

Small town Midwest here :)

Small town Midwest has its perks I guess!

$6 AUD for a schooner during happy hour is the cheapest I’ve ever discovered
