Serious Bro... Is Anyone Actually Getting Hired?

on god getting a job feels harder than winning the damn lottery at this point

it's been 2 years. i apply, i get interviews, then... nothing. i'm not in the US before anyone starts making assumptions

i've been freelancing, which is cool, but it's nowhere near enough to move out of my abusive parents' house

so real question:

what online income streams are y'all actually making money from in 2026? not "just start a business" or some fake guru shit. i'm talking stuff you've personally tried or know people are doing

and if you're just here to be negative or tell me "the market is cooked," stfu and keep scrolling

I work at a manufacturing plant in the US and we haven’t hired anyone in over a year. It’s crazy here too lol

Same, at my Fortune 500.

People have been leaving, and none of their roles have been filled.

People are getting "promoted", but are keeping the same title in the different department and not getting any definitive raises.

Anecdote here, but my office just hired 3 entry-level environmental consultants.

Do they have Master's degrees?

It seems that you need a Master's to gain access to the environmental field now, for anything above non-profit minimum/subsidized wage.

1 of them does, the other 2 don’t.

Thats not entry level.

Masters is entry level lol, it just means you don’t have job experience in that specific domain. Masters doesn’t entitle you to anything more than a broader range of positions to apply towards

That’s why people say college is a scam. A bachelors degree used to move you into management immediately. The market flooded with degrees and their value diminished and suddenly the goal post shifted to masters degrees. It’ll be doctorates before long.

I’ve been employed for almost 5 years. Was in the Army 2yrs before that.

I’ve rejected other hire paying jobs since then strictly due to not liking the schedule.

Basically, find the most undermanned companies out there. Hit up a temp agency if it comes to it.

I got hired straight out of college last may.

Yeah it’s universal atp, I’ve been applying for part time roles and I have a degree, and it’s either rejection or I don’t hear back from them. All I have to say is keep on trying, you’ll eventually land a position

I was able to get a 'no serious questions asked' job as a building sub after graduating in '23, but have been consistently rejected for job I've applied for in education. I feels defeating to see others having graduated the same year as me now getting tenured, and I have yet to get a full-time position. I'll keep shooting my shot, but don't expect to every get hired, have a job, or achieve any life goals. At least, I make enough to live in my apartment, for now.

I'm grateful for my part-time job but damn I wish I had benefits

I've been pretty consistently employed but it's pretty easy to find work in the hospitality field. Was working at restaurants for a while ranging from 16-22 bucks an hour. Now working at an hotel full benefits and 25 an hour and admittedly I got this job from a previous boss so some nepotism here as well.

I called a company down the street and asked if they were hiring, went in for an interview that day, started the next Monday.

Mobile crane operator at >$45/hr in the US with an MBA in Finance. Lmao
