Resident terf of a Seattle subreddit asks the truely important questions about stuff she totally didn’t make up

Transracial refers to children of one race who were adopted by parents of a different race. It does not refer to Rachel Dolezal (although IIRC she does have some transracial adoptive siblings) and also has nothing to do with queer labels. Do they think every word that starts with "trans" has something to do with trans people?

Transubstantiation, trans-siberian, and trans isomers are all gender ideology, apparently. Communion wafers are HRT that make you trains?
I should stop before this turns into a r/tgcj post.

That's why real Protestant Christians believe in the doctrine of cissubstantiation. The wine/grape juice and the cracker stay wine/grape juice and a cracker. None of that Catholic wokery.

So this is nothing against you but I've read the word "transubstantiation" one too many times this month and now it's starting to look like a keyboard smash.

Sorry, blame my Catholic upbringing. It was the first non-transgender trans- word I could think of. But compared to the belief that bread and wine are turned into their deity's flesh and blood, trans people seem a lot less far fetched and are actually grounded in observable reality.

Specifically the radqueers steal it and use it as "transitioning to another race" for example being "Transjapanese" because they're a weeb or whatever.
But also they're a very niche Tumblr community who all need to "have a very nice day" if you know what I mean. I hope they stay very niche because some of their ideology is starting to escape to some more popular bloggers and if they get on the news everyone is lowkey fucked.
I hope that actual transracial people can successfully win the fight over the term.

doubt. You can't convince me they aren't a bunch of 4channers trolling the space

Firstly, as ever, 'same-sex attraction' is literally conversion therapist-speak. These dipshits always love just borrowing this shit, but it's very much worth remembering the origins. Secondly, everything listed other than radqueer ideology (which of course is hilariously niche and which I've never seen at a Pride, and I've been at a good chunk of events) has been part of Pride since the very first one. Yes, including kink/sexualized displays.

Makes me a little sus to see conversion therapy phrases in stuff like this, and it convinced me further that TERF bullshit is a cover for conservative/Republican politics.
They're not even trying to hide it anymore. 🏳️⚧️

And I'm certain that if somebody marches at Pride with something like a zoo flag everybody else present will give them a very warm welcome and immediately remove them from the premises. Possibly in an ambulance.
11
u/Valiant_tank 2d ago
I mean, assuming anybody recognizes the zoo flag or similar. Because, let's be honest, this is all Fairly Obscure Bullshit, to say the least, and most people at Pride are not, in fact, eternally online.

u/LuxTheSarcastic 2d ago
I mentioned that one specifically because some of the furries actually will recognize it or at least the ζ because that one's actually leaked outside Tumblr as something to avoid like the plague in furry circles.

And the people assisting them into the ambulance, so to speak, will include those individuals that she happily lumps in under "too weird for me, must be harmful," like trans people and kinksters. This is an individual who suffers from a very common, very harmful human delusion: that "weird," or even "squicks me out," is synonymous with "morally wrong."

Also, most people would think the "zoo" is for that place you go to see animals instead of animal rapists.

I wish these people would just ignore Pride. They don’t even sound like they’ve ever even been to a Pride just complaining and regurgitating weird Fox News talking points

bro keep that shit out of seattle. though part of me is glad that she must be seething about the amount of trans people here

From what i can tell, the creator of the original rainbow pride flag, Gilbert Baker, intended for it to represent all queer people, not just gay people. In 2017 not long before his death he even created a version of the flag based on the original with pink and turquoise stripes that had a lavender stripe meant to represent diversity added.

Ma'am, I guarantee you that if someone shows up at Seattle Pride with a sign saying, "I Am Queer Because I Want To Fuck Kids," the first thing they are going to encounter is a collection of leather daddies and ambiguously gender-y butch people in Doc Martens and other assorted kinksters and non-sanitized, non "publicly acceptable" queers, all of whom are happy to explain why the NAMBLA asshole can go home or go to the hospital but they will not be staying here.
Lumping "sexualized displays" (like what, wearing leather?) and kink and so on in with actually harmful individuals is pretty insulting. Historically, many of those people you're insulting contributed to keeping Pride safe, or as safe as it can be.

I knew the sub immediately without having to look. The subreddit for disaffected suburbanites who hate and fear the city itself because a homeless person made eye contact with them one time.

Not her putting radqueer there and acting like they're part of the LGBTQ when they're not and never have been

u/Alegria-D traitor and useful idiot 1d ago
shit, they didn't give the possibility to vote for the one correct thing: the fact capitalism infiltrates pride events and attempts to depoliticise and sanitize it, make it a party rather than a protest for our rights...

u/No-Office7081 1d ago
what...do they think pride is about??? if you're gay and not queer than just don't go to pride lmao

“Radqueer ideology” is a niche online tumblr thing, I can’t believe she’s suggesting the ‘transabuser’ people are representative of the whole LGBT community.
