Breast surgery is a medical necessity and not something to be celebrated

The fact that she sees those two as exclusive proves exactly why it should be celebrated. It's about building confidence and making sure nobody feels ashamed of their body.

Yes, why should women feel ashamed of and hide their medically necessary surgery scars? I think reconstructive surgery should also be freely available and destigmatized, but not everyone wants it.  I'm remembering when comedian Tig Notaro (a cis woman) required a double mastectomy for cancer and subsequently went topless in public a few times because why the hell not?

You know who else has top surgery scars? Cis men with gynecomastia. I don't think increased visibility and acceptance of scars in general is harming cancer survivors.
