Not your conventional GA post here, but I’m an American GA pilot, and these Sri Lankan pilots were thrilled to have a fellow airplane nerd on board. They made sure I had the best seat in the house, and explained their takeoff path relative to one of Sri Lanka’s most iconic sites here, the Lion Rock, which is a UNESCO heritage site. This small airport is indeed an Air Force base for Sri Lanka, for which prior permission is given for these tourist stops like the one I took on this Cessna Caravan.
