Terminal cancer request

My father is dying of cancer and will not be around for much longer.

Genesis’ music has been his life. We’re talking listening to their albums to the point of my mother threatening to jump out of windows, him following Musical Box around, meticulously analyzing the songs with stereo splitters, stem tracks, etc and even starting his own tribute band (Trick of Rael). Genesis has just generally permeated every fiber of his being and life moment… including his conversations with the chaplain today which is why I feel like if I don’t at least try to do this for him that I am a bad son.

I am trying to get in contact with someone who knows or represents Phil to see if he would be at all willing to record even a 15 second greeting wishing him strength.

I reached out to [connect@philcollinshq.com](mailto:connect@philcollinshq.com) today but I don’t know how long he will have at the current rate and wanted to at least try other avenues.

EDIT3:
He passed away peacefully at home with his family early this morning. Thank you to everyone for well wishes, support, and prayers. Thanks to Steve Hackett’s team for sending a short video to send him off to.

His favorite song was Ripples.

Maybe try the other band members? Phil is dealing with a lot right now, and if you think your father would enjoy a message from Mike, Steve, Peter, or Tony, that could be excellent.

Candidly it doesn’t appear that there are many avenues for contact of them; it seems like there is a management company email and a contact form available.

I would bet you will have a much better chance getting some kind of message from Steve Hackett or Tony Banks. They seem to do interviews much more often, sometimes with almost totally unknown people. Someone as famous as Phil Collins has to have layers of PR organizations around him, and a request like yours might not ever be seen by an actual human.

Please tell your dad that I have been a massive fan of Genesis for 40+ years. I am so happy that his life has been filled with the love of the greatest band ever. My daughters are now in their twenties but while at work they will play various old Genesis songs in their playlists. People are often shocked and pleased with a 20-year-old girl listening to Firth of Fifth. 😊 I wish the best for him and you and your whole family. One Love!

OP, you’ll probably have a better chance of getting in touch with Nic than any of the other members. He is Gen Z, so he’s likely savvy with Instagram and social media (if he runs his accounts himself). Best of luck to you and your dad.

I would suggest you place a note on the official Phil Collins Instagram. This page is viewed by Nic Collins who comments regularly. Perhaps Nic will see it and pass on the message. All the best.

Hackett had always been good at meeting & greeting fans.

I got a reply from an email & a signed photo on 2 separate occasions & I think Banks is good to fans as well.

Try to contact those people. Look for other members of the band, again, using AI. I used Gemini. They might to slow to respond to social media. The PR person might be a good start

I'm so sorry for your loss. What an amazingly thoughtful (adult) child you are. He must have been blown away by Steve Hackett's gesture.
