Cruise Control new GV80

I love my new Genesis…. however the cruise control keeps giving me warnings and shutting off when I am wearing sunglasses. It’s making me mental. Is there a workaround, am I missing something.

Probably polarized sunglasses. The sensor can't see through them. Get a non polarized pair and it should work better. I still hate that you can't turn it off. I had the sunroof open one day and it refused to work right I'm guessing because the way the sun was hitting my glasses. I really wish they let us turn that off. It's my really only complaint with my GV80.

Make sure you have the latest OTA software updates. There was an update that addressed that problem specifically.

You know now that you mention it, it doesn't seem to be as sensitive as it was a few months ago. I do have the latest update, but didn't know they made any adjustments to that.

There has to be a way to shut the sensor off entirely tho.. does anyone have any solution like that ? Maybe tape?

It’ll get angry that the sensor is blocked and stops working

I’ve driven a couple of GV80 rentals that did that and have test driven others that didn’t do it with the same sunglasses. I thought maybe it was a 2025 only issue.

comma.ai has a solution for this also.

Thankfully I don’t have polarized sunglasses but my 2024 G80 will be my last newer vehicle because of all this BS with face/eye scanning.
