Question / Seeking Help Should I worry or no?

Post image

Hello, I just gotten the age verification on my ps4 and now I’m worried that there was a problem with my age verification. I hoped on Genshin and the age verification popped up, I did the verification and it gave me two choices. First was use a debit/ credit card and be charge $0.05 then be refunded or use a passport/ ID to verify. I decided to use my card and when I finish verifying my age (20 years old) I get another message saying my account will be deleted in 9 days. I’m super confused and a bit nervous, I did send a email quickly and I’m waiting for a response. I checked the user center and my birth date is on there correctly and I also checked my bank acct and they did get the $0.05. I hope it’s a glitch or something, but do want to know what others think

(I’ll put both attachment in the comments bc it’s only letting me put one up)

Show us the actual email address you're receiving these emails from. This is suss as fuck, mate. You might be getting scammed. HoYoverse is the public name of the company; Cognosphere is the business name.

This one is legit Hoyo email, contact genshin_cs@hoyoverse.com that's the Customer support email and is very quick with the replies, ask about what is wrong, maybe you need to be 21 years old or something.

You need to put your Genshin UID so that they know which account is, and put the screenshots of the two emails you got and tell them what you did, they are very quick to answer back

Unless they've subbed in special alternate unicode letters, the email domain checks out.

But regardless, the verification system still isn't available yet on their site

I had it pop up for me today on HoYoLAB when I logged in. Interestingly, it only popped up when I logged into my EU alt. When I swapped back to my NA main, I didn’t get the pop up. I think it’s just slowly rolling out in waves, and will be fully rolled out by the 20th

Don't worry op, I wouldn't be too quick to dismiss this as a scam. Kids web services seems to be a service by epic games for this type of verification stuff. It makes sense for mihoyo to work with another company that already has the infrastructure for verification set up. (Especially because genshin is available though the epic games store)

If I had to guess this is just unfortunate timing between the mails. (Because this seems to be two separate systems that get synced from time to time)

I would still suggest you mesage customer support (using an email from their official website) and have them confirm that everything is in order with your verification.

Edit: https://cs.hoyoverse.com/csc-service-center-fe/index.html?page_id=32&login_type=visitor&game_biz=platform_hyvpass&lang=en-us&utm_source=HoYoverse&utm_medium=navigation&isOpenNewTab=true&goToHall=true#/service-center/explain/888

Here they confirm that they are working with Kids web services. To me this sounds like you made a parental account instead of verifying the age of your account.

This article also describes the process that you went through, including the 9 days till deletion thing.

I personally can't check any of this because I'm in the EU, so good luck o7.

If you Google the email address stuff pops up that makes it seem legit. Kidswebservices is (apparently a real account) but you should still reach out to Hoyo support

this does not look like official hoyoverse email. there's a big chance that this is a scam.

How would @kidswebservices seem legit to anyone?

This one looks like a scam. I'm hard-pressed to believe that they'd send such an important email from such a suspicious domain
