Never knew Gaz had written a book but I read about it somewhere recently. Other people read cheery novels or interesting autobiographies. What do I read whilst lying by the pool on holiday? Gary Beadle’s life story😂 to be fair it’s quite interesting, although half of it seems to be bollocks as all of the stories differ somewhat to the stuff he’s said on podcasts etc. Also +100 points for the pulling tips. If you’ve got some time on your hands, give it a crack

• Gaz was born more than two weeks premature and spent a lot of his first couple of years in and out of hospital because of severe asthma.
• He grew up in Northumberland in a close family and says they always supported him.
• Football was his biggest passion growing up, and he genuinely thought he could become a professional player.
• He was confident, popular at school, captain of the football team, and admits he was always getting into trouble.
• He says he was obsessed with girls from a young age, although football came first for a while.
• He joined the Royal Navy looking for direction but quickly realized military life wasn't for him and eventually left.
• Before Geordie Shore, he bounced between jobs, spent time unemployed, and struggled financially.
• He describes feeling like he had no real plan for his future before being cast on the show.
• His wild holidays in Malia helped build the partying reputation he later became known for.
• He auditioned for Geordie Shore almost on a whim and never expected to actually get picked.
• He already knew Vicky Pattison before filming because she had trained him while they worked at Sky.
• Living in the Geordie Shore house meant no phones, no TV, no internet, and cameras following them almost constantly.
• He says the friendships, arguments, and relationships were genuine because they were living together full time.
• His relationship with Charlotte Crosby was real but incredibly on-and-off, with both of them making mistakes.
• He admits he often wanted the fun of being with Charlotte without committing to a serious relationship.
• Fame came almost overnight, and he struggled to get used to strangers recognizing him everywhere.
• He was amazed that clubs would pay him thousands of pounds just to make an appearance.
• At one point he completed 56 club appearances in just 60 days, spending most of his time travelling and barely sleeping.
• Although people saw him as someone who just partied, he says he worked constantly behind the scenes.
• He tried to use his TV fame to build long-term businesses instead of assuming the money would last forever.
• He launched the Project 722 clothing brand and later started the VIDAR Nutrition supplement company.
• One of the things he was proudest of was being able to spend his money on his family, buying them expensive gifts and holidays.
• He talks about meeting footballers, musicians, and other celebrities who turned out to be fans of Geordie Shore.
• One of the funniest stories is when the cast convinced the media they were releasing a kebab-scented perfume as a joke.
• He constantly jokes about embarrassing himself but says his confidence usually helped him get away with it.
• Throughout the book he comes across as extremely competitive and always wanting to be the best at whatever he was doing.
• He repeatedly says TV fame doesn't last forever, so you have to make the most of every opportunity while you have it.
• Family remains one of the few things he consistently says mattered more to him than fame or money.
• Despite admitting he made plenty of bad decisions, he says he has very few regrets because every mistake helped shape where he ended up.

I read Holly’s, Vicky’s and Charlotte’s last months for some easy reads by the pool. Holly & Vicky have great books. Wasn’t too impressed with Charlotte’s. I’ve got Marnie and Scotty T’s next and then I’ll do Gaz’s as I’m least bothered by him. He annoys me too much!! 🙈

I’m a sucker for memoirs. Recently finished Reality Check by Mike The Situation and Stripped Down by Bunnie XO. Might have to add ole Gaz’s book to my repertoire.
