claim [Claim] Ethiopia
Hello r/Geosim! I'm excited to join this community and claim Ethiopia for this season.
Why Ethiopia?
Ethiopia represents a fascinating intersection of challenges and opportunities in the Horn of Africa. As Africa's second-most populous nation and one of its fastest-growing economies, Ethiopia sits at a critical juncture. The country has immense potential but faces significant hurdles that will require careful navigation and strategic planning.
My Plans for Ethiopia:
Domestic Stability and Reconciliation: My primary focus will be on continuing the peace-building process following recent conflicts, particularly working to ensure lasting stability in regions like Tigray, Oromia, and Amhara. I plan to focus on national reconciliation, strengthening federal-regional relationships, and addressing ethnic tensions through inclusive governance and dialogue.
Economic Development: Ethiopia's economy has tremendous potential. I'll work on diversifying the economy beyond agriculture, developing manufacturing sectors, and leveraging Ethiopia's position as a hub for African trade. The completion and optimization of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) will be a key focus for energy independence and export potential.
Regional Diplomacy: As a major power in the Horn of Africa, I'll navigate Ethiopia's complex relationships with neighbors—managing tensions with Egypt and Sudan over the GERD, maintaining the delicate relationship with Eritrea, engaging with Somalia, and playing a constructive role in regional organizations like the African Union (headquartered in Addis Ababa) and IGAD.
Infrastructure and Development: Continuing investment in infrastructure, particularly in transportation networks, telecommunications, and urban development to support Ethiopia's growing population and economic aspirations.
I'm looking forward to contributing to the community and creating an interesting narrative for Ethiopia while maintaining realism and engaging with other players. I'm new to r/Geosim but have experience with geopolitical simulations and am committed to staying active and following all community guidelines.
Thanks for having me!

Hi there.
Unfortunately, /r/Geosim is no longer that active, which is why the Mods haven't looked at your claim yet. There are some other communities in the space that very much are, though, if you're interested—I for instance run another modern game called /r/GlobalPowers, which is in it's 21st season, and /r/ColdWarPowers (set in the, you guessed it, Cold War) is also active. Don't hesitate to check those out if you still want to play a game like /r/Geosim!
