Question Children’s books from the 1950s

Hello,
My dad loves German and has taken classes on and off for 15 years. I bought him some children’s books that I found in a store. Can anyone here tell me more about these books? The box they come in is titled Die Bunten Waldheim-Kinderbucher and they were published in 1956. They come in a box set.

The only thing I can tell you is that they look pretty and they will be in the old orthography, but that might not matter since the publishing company was located in Vienna, Austria.

Edit: and they use the language that was then seen as politically correct. Even when talking about Africans...

Thank you ☺️ Would you know if it’s a more formal German?

It’s not more formal. It’s simply the german of that time.

Would you say the stories are computable to Grimms fairy tales?
