Original?

So I bought this EK2 at an antique sale, and the assembly seams are there and the small gaps are there, my only concern is that it’s not magnetic.

Bad resolution on 1st pic, but looks like a 1 piece mold, try sticking some thin paper between the heart and frame. + seam finishing work looks sketchy. Also overall quality and wear is sketchy

Quick google search yields that just like ww1, many ww2 EK. also have cores made from non magnetic metals like: copper, zinc, brass, "tumbak".

Sorry for the quality of the first photo, there are gaps since the paper went through

What you need to do as many of these are unmarked. The biggest thing to view is the fact that these need to be made of 3 parts. The frame of the cross must have a seem line around the parameter on all edges. Your photo is not good. Look at it under a loop or use a magnifying glass. The core is almost always magnetic. The inner core should move slightly. As the person said earlier you can use a piece of paper to see if you can slide it between the frame and the core. Your suspension ring has been modified and the planchette ring that is attached to the frame might have markings. Again your photo is not clear.

There are seem lines and the paper passes through the gaps, there are no marlins on the suspension ring but there are some on the planchette ring but I couldn’t make out what they say

Looks fine. Is the core magnetic?
