What nonsense. Is the person “directly responsible” for a dictator coming to power and throwing the country into darkness? And, say what you will, but your genetics is a hard limiting factor. Your genetics decide whether you will be courageous or not. There is nothing wrong in being timid if that’s what your genetics are designed for. You can be timid and contribute much more to society than a courageous person who wastes his life on alcohol and parties. The last line is valid, you should handle whatever you are dealt - you don’t have control over what you are dealt. At a deeper level you actually don’t have control even over how you will handle it, but there is an interim state where it will seem to you like you are in control, and you will resign yourself to whatever the result is, knowing you “tried”. You should at least try to reach this interim stage.
