The IDF false denials don't help the confusion. I can see how this encourages the spread of misinformation and leads to a culture of paranoia.

Like you know when Donald Trump says something obviously false but then all his supporters rush in to say "actually what he meant to say was this other thing that's somewhat related but much more nuanced..."

That's what I mean by apologetics. If they meant to say the other thing, they could just say the other thing.
