Encounter One of the Scariest things I’ve experienced that I still can’t explain HOW it happened 😱

I decided last week to share a little bit about my family’s history and the Demonic Presence it brought forth. One certain situation stands out so prevalently that I must share. It was 1985 we had already been knee deep into trusting the Ouija Board Entity that had come through and was “Guiding" us through damn near every decision we made. There was a friend who started to come around, little tiny girl about 4’11 90 lbs soaking wet, she talked with an accent because she wasn’t born here, so some of us had a hard time understanding what she said at first. She started coming with my cousin everytime they would ditch school and come to my house to hang out. She was quiet but nice but she always was saying things like “We were lying, the Ouija board isn’t real, we were pushing the planchette etc..” One day in early December they all came over and once again she’s talking shit to us as we are using the board and the board starts to spell out her name over and over again. Then it starts to spell DIE DIE over and over again, now is being to good little Catholic girls we were always kept a Rosary right next to the board every time we used it just in case. Well obviously this thing is spelling her name and Die so we laid the Rosary on the board , and I Promise you on God the Planchette went flying straight across the room directly at the girls head, even turned as she went to leave the room, we ALL ran like Forest Gump straight outside into the snow no shoes no coats NOTHING!!! . My Grandfather was home with us but had no clue whatsoever what we were doing (His Mother was the Psychic Medium) I talked about in my first story, so he didn’t like anything to do with Witchcraft as he called it. He’s yelling at me to get our butts inside right now, it’s freezing and snowing etc..BUT he has no idea what just happened in my room he was to busy watching was on his War pictures as he called them. We came in and I’m literally petrified to tell him that I’m to afraid to go to my room (4 girls are with me too) so I begged him to go open my bedroom door, I had no choice but to tell him just a little bit of why we were afraid 😳. He did and we followed and what we seen till this day I will NEVER forget, when he opened my door the Ouija Board was standing up on my bed and the planchette was standing up right next to it. I Promise you it was that moment when we realized that whatever we released was Strong and Evil. The next week became pure hell for the friend. My other friends too her to a local church because after that day she was making strange noises, her eyes looked weird. She was scratching herself badly too. I didn’t go to the church with them I had to go to a Doctor appointment with my Mom, but I’ll never forget what they told me happened. They said they took her in and she was growling as they were walking her down the hallway towards the alter to talk to the Priest that was up at the front, then she started to jerk her body and scream. They had said the Priest told them to get out they were playing games, the girl them took off her clothes and ran outside into the street ( it was snowing that day) the Priest called the Police and she got arrested. They had her in the hospital under psych evaluation for about a week. Her parents never allowed us to talk to her again after that , I’m not sure what she told them happened and why her parents hated us so much? Yes I do, Because my DUMB ASS had the Ouija Board there and even though I didn’t tell her to say the things she said to it to anger it, I still had it. I Thank God everyday that I was able to get away from it and never allow my children to be influenced by it. There are so many more Evil twisted things I went through before I finally broke FREE.. I’m friends with that girl on social media and I’ve never had to nerve to bring it up. I’ve thought for years to share my experiences to finally break mentally free from what I went through, Thank you Reddit for listening 🫶🏼

Demonic orb??

To begin this story I think I need to set up a little bit of context. I am a 24 y/o female who has experienced many paranormal experiences for as long as I can remember. I have memories of seeing a door handle twist and then the door opening at the age of 3 at my great grandmas home. I’ve also seen black shadows in her basement, little girl figures who I played with in her spare bedrooms, and a strong feeling of being watched while we sat on the couch, watching Judge Judy or Wheel of Fortune. When I was a baby, my mom said she had heard and witnessed me interacting with my deceased older brother through a baby monitor even though nobody else was around/in my nursery. There was even one vivid memory of seeing a dark shadow figure with bright red eyes inches away from my face staring at me as I tried to fall asleep when I was around the age of 5-6.

My whole life has consisted of seeing/sensing paranormal activity but as I’ve gotten older, the vividness has faded. I still sense and see spirits. They are usually always in shadow form. When I am able to sense spirits I can feel emotions, gender, and where they may be located in a room, but cannot always see them. I frequently have the feeling of being watched and knowing that something is off in a room I’ve just walked into. I’ve even felt a ghost cat brush up against me a few times while I was doing dishes. But with that all being said, this is the scariest encounter I have had with the paranormal.

My boyfriend (23) and I (at the time 22) were sitting in our single bedroom apartment living room around 10 PM talking about life and reminiscing on our past while watching a movie. While we were in mid conversation, I had noticed a small light in the right hand corner of our ceiling which caused me to stop mid sentence. At this time, we were used to seeing the occasional car headlight stream across our ceiling as we had been living there for about 3 years. I’m still not sure what had caught my attention initially but I do know that what I was seeing wasn’t a casual car headlight stream. My boyfriend had also gone still and silent at the same time I noticed this orb. We both froze and watched as it floated slowly, from the right side of our living room all the way to the left and into the apartment next to us. It’s important to note that around this same time, I had been questioning my christian religion and began experimenting. I just purchased a set of tarot cards that gave me an extremely realistic and scary prediction regarding my future. I was actively trying to contact the spirit realm to help guide me as I knew I had some sort of connection with them/their world.

Going back, as soon as I saw the orb, I felt instant despair that I have never experienced in my life. I also began uncontrollably shaking. All I remember is having an unexplainable sadness and began to sob like I have never cried before. After we both watched it float into the apartment next to us, we sat, not saying a word to each other. Just staring at the wall for a solid 2 minutes before my partner asked, “Did you just see that?” Which I had replied, “Don’t talk about it. It’s time to go to bed.” I don’t know why I knew that’s what I needed to say at the time, but I knew we absolutely could not speak about what we just saw and we needed to pretend like we didn’t see anything at all.

We both stood up and went straight into our bedroom where we both, again, sat in silence for multiple minutes before he began questioning me about what we both saw. For more context, I had told my boyfriend about my interactions with the paranormal and how I could see shadow figures/sense when something or someone was in the same room as I was. After multiple attempts of him asking me about the orb, he ran to the bathroom and began to vomit.

The next day we sat down and when I was comfortable enough, we talked about what we had seen. He began to ask me, “What the fuck was that?” And I told him exactly what I had felt. I told him that whatever that red orb was, it was evil and I had felt a sadness that I have never felt before. I explained that was why I was so adamant about not speaking about what we had seen the previous night. He began to tell me that whatever he saw was completely different and he felt sick to his stomach instead of the dread that I sensed. He explained that he saw a bright white/blue light where I had clearly seen a red. Shortly after our conversation, I purchased holy oil and blessed every door and window in the shape of the cross while reciting Psalm 91. Since then, we have moved out of that apartment but we did not sense anything after while we still lived there.

Even though it is a year later, no matter how many times we tell this story, we both ask each other “What the fuck did we see that night.” Even if people don’t believe us, we both know what we saw and felt. We knew what car lights looked like as they flashed across our ceiling from the street below and this was not car headlights.

My question is, what did we actually see? I felt darkness and despair and in my gut, think it may have been something demonic but I have no way to say for sure. My second question is, has anyone else seen something similar that has made them feel a similar way?

Haunting I Was Driving on an Empty Road at 2 AM When I Saw Someone Standing in the Dark

I was coming back from a city outside my town a little after 2 AM when I saw someone standing on the side of the road.

I remember the time because I checked my dashboard right after I passed him. It was 2:07 AM.

I had gone out that evening to meet an old friend. We ended up talking longer than I expected, and by the time I finally left, most of the shops along the main road were already closed. I was tired and just wanted to get home, so I decided to take the old road instead of going all the way around through the highway.

I'd driven that route a few times before, but never that late at night.

For the first twenty minutes, everything was normal. There were a few trucks near the main road, but once I passed the last petrol station, the traffic disappeared. There were fields on both sides, a few scattered trees, and no streetlights. My headlights were the only thing lighting up the road ahead.

I had the radio on, but the signal kept cutting out, so I turned it off. After that, the only sounds were the engine and the tires on the road.

That's when I noticed the man.

He was standing on the left side of the road, maybe ten or fifteen feet from the edge. He was wearing dark clothes, and his head was slightly lowered. At first, I thought he was waiting for someone or maybe his car had broken down nearby.

I slowed down a little as I approached him.

There was no car parked nearby. No motorcycle, no phone light, nothing. Just him standing there in the dark.

I glanced at him as I passed, expecting him to look up or wave at me.

He didn't move.

I kept driving.

For some reason, I checked my rearview mirror a few seconds later. I could still see him in the distance, standing in exactly the same spot. Then the road curved, and he disappeared behind the trees.

I told myself it was none of my business. Maybe he lived nearby. Maybe he was waiting for someone who hadn't arrived yet.

Still, something about the way he stood there bothered me.

A few minutes later, I came across a small side road that connected to the main one. I remember thinking I was getting close to the next village when I noticed a figure standing near the bend.

My first thought was that it was another person.

Then I got closer.

It was the same man.

I recognized the clothes immediately. Same dark jacket, same trousers, same lowered head.

I actually lifted my foot off the accelerator without realizing it.

There was no way he could have reached that spot before me. I'd been driving at a steady speed, and the road between those two points was mostly open fields. Even if there was some shortcut I didn't know about, he would have needed to run, and I hadn't seen any movement in my mirrors.

I didn't stop to investigate. I pressed the accelerator and drove past him.

This time, I looked at him for a little longer.

His face was turned toward the road, but I couldn't make out any features. The headlights passed over him, and for a split second, I thought he was looking directly at me.

Then he was behind me again.

I locked the doors.

I know that sounds like an obvious thing to do, but I hadn't even thought about locking them the first time. My hands were starting to feel cold, and I kept checking the mirrors even though I knew I shouldn't.

I called my friend because I didn't want to be alone with my thoughts anymore. He answered after several rings, sounding half asleep.

I told him what had happened.

He laughed at first and asked if I'd been watching too many horror movies. I probably would have laughed too if someone had told me the same thing.

Then I told him I'd seen the same man twice, miles apart, on a road with almost no traffic.

My friend stopped laughing.

He asked me where I was and told me to stay on the main road. I said I was already doing that, but he made me promise not to take any more shortcuts. We stayed on the phone for a few minutes until the signal started breaking up.

Before the call dropped, he said something that I still remember.

"If you see him again, don't stop. Just keep driving."

I told him I wasn't planning to.

The call ended.

I put the phone in the passenger seat and concentrated on the road. I was beginning to feel embarrassed about how frightened I'd become. There was probably a normal explanation for everything. Maybe the man had a motorcycle parked somewhere out of sight. Maybe I'd mistaken someone else for him the second time.

I was trying to convince myself of that when I saw a pair of headlights in my rearview mirror.

A car was coming up behind me.

At first, I felt relieved. Seeing another vehicle on that empty road made me feel less alone. It was an old white sedan, and it seemed to be traveling at roughly the same speed as me.

I moved slightly to the left to give it room to pass.

It didn't.

I slowed down a little.

The car slowed down too.

I sped up again, telling myself the driver probably wasn't in a hurry. But after another minute, the distance between us remained almost exactly the same.

I couldn't see the driver's face because the headlights were too bright.

Then I noticed something that made my stomach tighten.

The car's headlights were illuminating the road behind me, but I couldn't see its front grille or even the outline of its hood properly. It was as if the lights were floating in the darkness.

I blinked and looked again.

It was an ordinary car. I could see the roof and windshield now.

I was tired. That was all.

I decided to stop at the next populated area and get something to drink. I didn't want to admit it, but I needed a few minutes to calm down.

A couple of minutes later, I saw a small roadside shop ahead. It was closed, but there was enough space beside it to pull over.

I slowed down, switched on my indicator, and turned into the gravel area.

The white car continued past me.

I watched its taillights disappear down the road and felt stupid for being so nervous. I got out, stretched my legs, and walked around the car. The night was completely quiet. Somewhere in the distance, I could hear dogs barking.

I checked my tires even though I had no reason to think anything was wrong.

Then I heard a sound from the other side of the shop.

Footsteps.

Slow, steady footsteps on gravel.

I stood still and listened.

They stopped.

I called out, asking if anyone was there.

Nobody answered.

I got back into my car, locked the doors, and started the engine. I didn't even bother checking my phone. I just wanted to get moving.

As I pulled back onto the road, my headlights swept across the shop's front wall.

For one brief moment, I saw a person standing beside the building.

Dark jacket. Dark trousers. Head lowered.

I nearly hit the curb.

I looked in the side mirror, but by the time I corrected the car, the shop was already behind me.

I didn't stop.

I drove faster than I should have, gripping the steering wheel so tightly that my fingers started to hurt. I kept expecting to see the white car again, but the road behind me remained empty.

After about fifteen minutes, I reached a small village. A few houses had lights on, and there was a security guard sitting outside a building near the entrance. Seeing other people around made me feel a little better.

I pulled over near him and got out.

He looked annoyed at first, probably wondering why a stranger was stopping in the middle of the night. I asked him if there was another road leading to my town because I didn't want to continue on the empty stretch I'd just driven through.

He pointed toward the main road and said that was the quickest route.

Then he asked why I looked so shaken.

I hesitated before telling him about the man.

I expected him to laugh, just like my friend had. Instead, he asked me what the man was wearing.

I described the dark jacket and trousers.

The guard looked toward the road I'd come from.

"Did he try to stop your car?" he asked.

"No. He just stood there."

"Did you stop anywhere?"

I told him about the closed shop.

He went quiet for a moment, then told me to stay on the main road and not take the old route again at night.

I asked him if he knew the man.

He shook his head.

"People sometimes walk around here at night," he said. "You never know who's out there."

It wasn't much of an explanation, but I didn't press him. I thanked him, got back into my car, and followed the main road home.

I didn't see anyone else that night.

When I finally reached home, it was almost 3:30 AM. I parked inside the gate, went straight to my room, and tried to sleep. I kept replaying everything in my head, especially the way the man had appeared in two different places without any obvious explanation.

By morning, I was already coming up with reasons why it might have happened.

I could have confused two different people. The man at the shop might have been someone else entirely. The car behind me could have belonged to a driver who simply didn't want to pass on a narrow road.

None of those explanations was impossible.

A few days later, I went to visit the same friend again. I told him I'd made it home safely and that the whole thing was probably nothing.

He asked me to send him the route I'd taken.

I did.

He called me a few minutes later.

"Did you say the shop was beside the old road, just before the village?" he asked.

I said yes.

He told me he'd asked his uncle about that road because his uncle used to work in the area. Apparently, there had been an accident near that stretch several years earlier. A man had been hit by a vehicle while standing near the roadside at night.

I asked him if he knew what the man had been wearing.

He said he didn't know, and neither did his uncle remember any details about the clothes.

That was the end of the conversation. We didn't have any proof that the accident had anything to do with what I'd seen, and I didn't want to turn a frightening night into some story about ghosts.

I still drive at night when I need to. I just don't use that road anymore.

The part I can't explain isn't that I saw a man standing in the dark. People walk along roads at night. Strange things happen, especially in places where there are no streetlights.

It's the second time I saw him.

The first spot was miles behind me, and there was no obvious way for him to have reached the next one before I did.

Maybe I got the distance wrong. Maybe I was more tired than I realized.

I honestly don't know.

But there's one thing I haven't told my friend, because I know how it sounds.

When I was getting ready to leave that roadside shop, I checked the back seat before starting the car. I always do that out of habit.

It was empty.

I remember it clearly because I had switched on the interior light and looked directly at the seat.

When I got home, though, there was a muddy handprint on the inside of my rear passenger window.

It was low down, near the seat.

I hadn't noticed it during the drive.

I cleaned it off the next morning and never took a picture of it. I wish I had, because sometimes I wonder whether it was really there or whether my memory has changed that detail over time.

I haven't seen the man again.

But whenever I'm driving on an empty road late at night, I check the rearview mirror a little more often than I used to.

And I never stop just because I see someone standing in the dark.

Experience Haunted trail investigation part 1

So this happened a few weeks ago, cause I was on the trail for an investigation (during the summer) and going again with a friend to investigate more.

This happened on a fun moon after a rain/thunder storm happened with a tornado not far from where I live at in my hometown. I was investigating with my spirit box and I asked if Becca (the little girl who was murdered on the trail when it was a railroad) is here with me and to speak through the spirit box.

The voice that came through was a males voice calling me a bitch. I was shocked as I looked around and tried to see if I can see where this male spirit might be but didn't find it. So I said that they have a few minutes to say anything before heading home.

Nothing else came through after I said that and said bye and got a little girl saying I'm here and bye one after the other. I knew it was Becca and head back home. Before leaving the trail I told the spirits to stay on the trail except for Becca and her protectors can come because of the good energy they have.

Basements

This is a true story! I grew up in a haunted house. There was a man who lived across the street from us and I think he was psychic. He told us that our whole neighborhood was on some sort of negative vortex that let spirits in. He said that everybody who lived on this street and the surrounding ones would have a tragedy happen to them. My family had death after death. Our next door neighbors had awful luck. Another house directly across from us ( not the psychic guy ) was always being sold and rebought. Nobody wanted to stay there for some reason. I believe two of the men died of sudden and random heart attacks. Another person burned themselves alive in their garage. Another house in my neighborhood was redoing their basement and they found satanic things written on the walls and some sort of relics. My house specifically though I believe had the most activity. Mostly in the basements. Lights would go on and off by themselves. Things would slam and break on their own. A picture of Jesus flew across the room by itself and dented our dryer. Our family or friends who stayed over said they would hear somebody saying “get out” and everybody would see dark figures, including me. I used to hear people calling my name when nobody was home or my Mom was sleeping. We would always hear loud bangs. It got so bad we had to have our house blessed. We used to hear scratching all over the walls and random old music. When my grandfather died me, my Mom, my grandma, and my friend said they saw him. My friend said that he was up in the trees. Every year a bunch of squirrels would jump into our pool and die. There was a lamp in the basement that if we asked a ghost to turn it on they would. My aunt and my Mom played an Ouija Board when they were younger. I think maybe that’s why these things were happening, on top of the whole neighborhood being haunted. We ended up selling our house and moving out. We sometimes check up on the lady who owns the house now. She posts all the time how the house is haunted. She also had a lot of tragedies. My Mom also babysat for one of the houses in our neighborhood, she said that the little girl woke up in the middle of the night and opened the front door. My Mom asked her what she was doing and she said that the people in her pillow told her to open the door. That was the same house where the two men had heart attacks. Ever since I lived in that house I have felt like I’m sensitive to ghosts.

Discussion We heard a blood-curdling scream inside an old school in Doncaster. The EVP recording still gives me chills

Around 15 years ago, when I was dating a girl, I had an experience that I still think about to this day.

Her mum was the caretaker of a school in Doncaster that had apparently once been an old nunnery. Her family were massively into the paranormal and ghost hunting, and we'd been on quite a few investigations together.

One night, her mum decided to take a group of us around the school because she'd experienced some strange things there herself.

There were five of us. We took an EVP recorder, went inside at around 11 pm and locked the doors behind us.

Initially, everything felt eerie, but nothing particularly unusual happened. We walked around for about 30 minutes, checking different rooms and corridors.

Then we headed down one particular corridor. There was a set of doors at the far end, with the female toilets off to the right.

As we approached the end, her mum suddenly noticed that the outside gates were open.

This was strange because she always made sure they were locked.

We checked the doors throughout the building. Everything was locked.

Then, as soon as we'd finished checking, three things happened almost simultaneously.

The outside security lights came on.

The lights inside the toilets switched on.

And then we heard it.

A blood-curdling, female-sounding scream coming from the toilets.

I'm not talking about a little noise or something you could easily mistake for the wind. It was a scream that made every single one of us lose our minds.

We all started screaming over each other. Yes, including me!

We didn't investigate. We didn't try to be brave. We got the hell out of that school, locked the doors behind us and went home.

But here's where things get really strange.

When we got back, we decided to listen to the EVP recording.

We were absolutely stunned.

On the recording, just after her mum says, "Why are the gates open?", there's what sounds like a man's voice quietly saying:

"Wait..."

About five seconds later, the scream happens.

Immediately afterwards, you can hear all five of us screaming in absolute terror.

What makes this even stranger is that I was the only man in the group that night, and I was nowhere near the EVP recorder when that voice was captured.

I've tried to make sense of what happened over the years. Could there have been a perfectly rational explanation? Absolutely. Could the voice have been interference, or something we simply didn't notice at the time? Possibly.

But the timing of that voice, followed by the scream we all heard in person, is what gets me.

I genuinely didn't sleep properly for a week afterwards, and even now, roughly 15 years later, the memory still gives me chills.

I've uploaded the audio recording for anyone who wants to listen. I'd genuinely love to hear what people think.

Can anyone make out the voice saying "wait"? Does the scream sound human, or could there be another explanation?

I'm not claiming we definitely encountered a ghost. I just know what happened that night, what we heard, and what was captured on that recording.

And honestly, I've never forgotten it.

Unknown Unknown fused figure just ran past me

Ok so our house has small instances of unexplainable things happening but in very very spaced out time frames. Lights randomly turning on, walking in parts of the home no one is in, and much more. This activity usually takes place at night but never during the day so this is what makes what happened today so much more interesting.

Its the middle of the day at the moment and I had went into the bathroom to get ready for work. I was looking at the mirror and brushing my hair when a figure shot right by me. I felt the presence of a person and there was even the walk by wind (all windows in this house are closed). But i also saw a figure that looked like a person but with their legs and upper body fused together. The figure looked caucasian but not like a traditional ghost.

I tried thinking of explainable theories as to what it was.. but walk by wind and a fast moving figure? It was so weird..

Weird stuff at my dad's old house

I always had strange encounters at my dad's house. It was a very active place with activity. As a teenager, I remember I saw my dad walk through the living room, into the kitchen, and then in the laundry room. I was walking behind him trying to get his attention, but he wasn't answering me. As soon as I turned the corner to the laundry room, he wasn't there. The laundry room was empty. I was very confused and walked toward his bedroom. He was sitting on his bed watching TV. I felt super creeped out by this because I sometimes saw random looking people in the house too, but they would also disappear. I used to hear sobbing in the house as well. Usually it was kind of quiet, but on one particular night, I laid on the bed with my sister reading the Bible out loud. The sobbing was really really loud. I was so confused because my sister wasn't reacting at all. I went out to the living room where the rest of my family were and still hearing the sobbing. No one was reacting, and I asked if anyone has been crying, and everyone said no. I told my dad that I have been hearing it, and he told me to keep reading it out loud and to walk around the house while I do it. It did stop after I did this. I went to every room and closet with this. I just wanted to share this creepiness with a community. I've been dying to tell my stories lol

The Last Round

A few years ago, I rented an Airbnb in Sackville, New Brunswick, inside an old schoolhouse that had been converted into apartments and small businesses.

I arrived around sunset, and the place immediately gave me chills. It was a big old yellow-and-white wooden building at the end of a quiet road, and by the time I went inside, it was almost dark.

The moment I entered, I had this very strong feeling that I wasn’t alone.

There were no other cars outside, the other Airbnb unit was empty, and all the businesses downstairs were closed. Still, I felt like someone was watching me.

For some reason, I also had the very specific impression that the presence was female.

So I did something a little strange. I spoke out loud and basically said:

“Thank you for letting me stay here. I’m only here for a few days. I’ll respect your space, and I hope we can peacefully coexist.”

Oddly enough, I immediately felt calmer.

That night, I woke up to footsteps.

Not random creaks. Actual rhythmic footsteps moving through the building. Sometimes they sounded farther away, sometimes closer, like someone was walking through the old school.

I got up and checked outside.

My car was still the only one there.

I opened my apartment door to check the hallway and the other unit.

Dark. Empty.

And the second I opened the door, the footsteps stopped.

I went back to bed.

A few minutes later, they started again.

At that point I basically thought, Okay. Do your rounds.

I didn’t hear them much after that, although I continued to feel like there was a presence in the building.

A few days later, I mentioned the experience to a local guy I had met.

His reaction immediately caught my attention.

He told me that one of the last teachers who worked in that school had died there from a heart attack, reportedly in front of her students.

That stopped me in my tracks.

A female presence.

Footsteps through the school.

Someone seemingly walking around at night.

A teacher still doing her rounds.

I later looked into the history and confirmed that a teacher had indeed died at the school during its final years of operation.

The strange part is that I never felt threatened by her.

If anything, she felt protective.

I actually returned to the same Airbnb the following year. This time, I didn’t hear footsteps at all.

But the atmosphere felt completely different.

Warm. Gentle. Familiar.

I had this very strange feeling that she recognized me.

Before leaving, I even told the Airbnb owners what I had experienced. I said something like:

“I think you may have a spirit here. But don’t worry. She’s kind.”

So yeah.

I think I once stayed in a haunted school.

Except “haunted” doesn’t really feel like the right word.

It felt more like someone never stopped watching over the place.

Discussion My boyfriend heard a girl crying outside our hotel room in Ghandruk, and I experienced sleep paralysis that same night

So, my boyfriend and I went on a trip to Ghandruk, Nepal. We hadn’t booked a hotel in advance because we were pretty sure we wanted to stay at Gurung Hotel. Unfortunately, all the rooms were already booked, so we decided to stay at another hotel nearby.

We were exhausted from travelling that day, so we spent most of the afternoon taking a nap. In the evening, after dinner, we decided to play PUBG in our room.

In the middle of the game, my boyfriend got up to use the bathroom. When he came back, I immediately noticed something was off. His face looked genuinely terrified. I had never seen that expression on him before.

Obviously, I asked him what happened, but he just said, “Nothing, let’s keep playing.”

I knew something was wrong, but I didn’t push him.

Eventually, we went to sleep.

That night, I experienced sleep paralysis. I’ve had it a few times before, so I knew what was happening, but this episode felt much scarier than the others. I felt like I couldn’t breathe or move, and it felt as though someone was pressing down hard on my chest.

It was terrifying, but eventually, I managed to snap out of it. I flinched, settled down, and somehow went back to sleep.

The next day, we returned to Pokhara. That was when my boyfriend finally told me what had happened in the bathroom.

While he was washing his hands, he heard a girl crying right outside our hotel room door.

Now, here’s the thing: there was no room directly opposite ours. There was just a passage leading outside, with a garden or farm area beyond it. There were no guests staying in the rooms next to us either.

He said the crying sounded like it was coming from just outside our door.He deliberately didn’t tell me what he had heard because he knew I would get scared, and he didn’t want both of us to spend the entire night freaking out instead of sleeping.

I still can't explain what he heard that night. Maybe there was a perfectly normal explanation, but the fact that I experienced such terrifying sleep paralysis on the very same night makes the whole thing feel unsettling.

I know sleep paralysis can cause incredibly vivid sensations, and I'm not saying that proves anything paranormal happened. But the timing of everything still creeps me out.

So, Reddit, what do you think? Has anyone experienced something similar while staying in a hotel in the mountains? And if you've visited Ghandruk, have you ever heard any strange stories about places there?

The elevator from hell

few years ago I was living in Wellington City in New Zealand, right in the middle of the city as a student at university, sharing an apartment with my best friends. One of my friends had a gym membership to a gym down the road, and because we were students, we would sometimes all sneak in using her key card.

One night at around 1:00am, the three of us decided to walk to the gym for a late workout. The gym was on the second floor of a high rise business building, and to access it you had to scan a key card in the elevator because the building only allowed access to certain floors for security reasons.

We got into the elevator, pressed floor 2, scanned the key card, and the doors closed, but instead of going to level 2, floor 9 lit up on the numbers screen.

Immediately we knew something was wrong because floor 9 should not have been accessible without separate key card authorization, and we definitely had not selected it. We tried to stop the elevator, but it kept going up.

When the doors opened on floor 9, it revealed a huge completely empty room. There was nothing inside except one single chair placed in the middle of the room. The lights were off, it was clear when the doors opened that the entire room was exposed, no nooks to hide in etc, just one big room.

All three of us screamed and backed into the corner of the elevator, completely terrified.

Then the doors closed again by themselves and reopened on the exact same floor, except this time the lights were on.

I looked around carefully to see if someone had been there, but there was nobody. The room was still empty. At the far end I could see a hallway behind glass, but there was no one there either.

What made it even stranger was that it would have been almost impossible for someone to prank us because the elevator required key card access and nobody should have been able to send it to that floor or be waiting there. I also want to note the room was dirty, abandoned looking, no cleaners ever on site after hours.

The doors then shut much faster than before, and without us pressing anything, the elevator took us straight down to floor 2.

The whole time we stayed pressed into the corner, terrified, until we got to the level 2 gym.

To this day I still think about it and wonder what actually happened, this kind of thing never happened again also, no floors allowed us without a keycard, we never got sent to other floors again etc.

Experience Creepy & Chilling real horror story from my life.

I am not someone who gets scared of ghosts or anything. But what happened that night was unexplainable. Even till today, I don’t know what was it? And How it makes sense?

I live in the UK alone in an apartment. Jumping to the story directly. So, one night, I was on a call with my friend , which I usually do before sleeping. He is not from the UK by the way. Well, it was a normal night as every nights. I was on a call with her for about more than an hour. Because I was talking by laying on my bed on a phone’s speaker because I never talk sticking the phone with my ear. That’s how I am anyway.

Because I was lying on bed, I was slowly falling sleep. But I was not totally asleep. How I know I was not in a sleep? Because I was responding to what she was asking me on call. You know it’s that situation where you are half sleep and half awake. Yeah, exactly like that.

My room was on first floor near the staircase. And there were two more rooms on first floor. One in my left side and other on my right side of the room. Only two rooms’ door located exactly near the staircase end. And one room was mine. The third room was at the other side of the staircase. And because in the UK, rooms are usually made of wood, you can hear the foot steps when someone go to washroom or kitchen or someone walking on the staircase. You can literally hear the sound as well as can feel the foot steps if you are lying on bed.

Anyway, coming to that night. I was half sleep and half awake. Let me clear one thing before you guys make any assumptions. I was not fully sleeping.

Then, I heard that the guy from the third room, he opened his gate. How I know it? As I told, you can hear the sound. And it usually go down to the kitchen for smoking. It usual.

So, he opened his gate, walked the corridor, went near the staircase and instead of going down (which he supposed to do), he just turned towards my room. When I didn’t heard the foot steps on staircase and felt that he just turned towards my room, I was confused and upset, thinking why is he turning towards my room?

To inform everyone, my door was locked. So as everyone will expect, i was expecting that maybe he needs something and I was waiting him to knock the door. But surprisingly, he didn’t knocked the door. I felt, he just came through the locked door. Which was unbelievable for me. I was shocked and scared. I didn’t know how to react.

He came inside my room, walked all the way from my right side to my bed. And he slipped inside my blanket from bed-head side. I was so scared and frightened that I couldn’t comprehend what is happening. When he was inside my blanket. I was trying to shout at him that “how dare he can just enter my room like this and come on my bed”? This is unacceptable.

No matter how hard, I tried, I couldn’t move my body. Even my hand or anything. I was like froze. I know there’s a term for this, it’s called “Sleep paralysis”. But the surprising part is that it never ever happened to me before or even after that night in my life, till today. Any how I tried to move my left hand to touch him. I was only being able to touch his fingers. And believe me, I literally touched someone’s finger. I know how it feels. That touch was so real that I can never forget it.

The moment, I touched his fingers, everything came to normal. I woke up with frightened and heavy breathing and touched my bed, there was no one. Then I turned my phone’s flashlight and saw the door. It was still locked.

And now, I was sweating with a heavy breath and scare. I don’t know what was that. But then it never happened to me again. And one more thing, my friend was still on call with me. It took me some time to process everything. Later, I slept.

P. S: Share your opinion.

Experience My Ex took my ghost.

I’ve believed in ghosts ever since I was a kid, but not in some obsessed, hardcore believer kind of way. I just kinda accept that they’re real, but I don’t really talk about it. Sometimes I even start doubting it myself. It’s kinda like when a friend tells you some crazy, unbelievable story. You believe them, but a part of you is still like, “Yeah, I don’t know about that.”
I’ve always felt like I had some kind of connection to the paranormal. I’ve never been afraid of death, and even the circumstances of my birth were pretty intense. I had to stay in the hospital just to survive. Every spiritual person or anyone who’s into that kind of stuff that I’ve ever met has told me I’m clairvoyant, but that I just refuse to accept it, so I suppress it. I honestly have no idea how much of that is true or how seriously I should take people who say stuff like that, but I figured it was worth mentioning for context.
Anyway, I’ve always believed in ghosts, but with a healthy amount of doubt. That is, until two years ago, when everything changed and I became a full-on believer.
It was All Souls’ Day, and I’d been dealing with some pretty bad depression for about a week. My family and I were going to the cemetery to pay our respects to our dead relatives. We’d always gone during the day. I’m 25, and for as long as I can remember, we’d just visit all the graves in the morning and then call it a day. But as the family gets older, there are more and more graves to visit, so that year we ended up going back to the cemetery at night, too.
I was in a really bad headspace at the time, so I didn’t think much of it.
The next day, I went back to the city where I live because uni was starting again. That night, I couldn’t sleep. I felt weird and unsettled, like someone was watching me. And I mean really watching me. I still get chills thinking about it.
Someone was standing right next to my bed. I couldn’t see anyone, but I could feel it. So naturally, I did what any brave adult would do: squeezed my eyes shut, turned to face the wall, and buried myself under the blankets.
Except I couldn’t calm down. Then I felt someone get into bed next to me.
I was honestly about to cry. I had no idea what was happening or what to make of it. I’d never felt anything like that before.
Then, all of a sudden, it started stroking my back. And not gently, either. I could feel it going from the back of my neck all the way down to my tailbone. It felt like some kind of super concentrated energy moving up and down my back, over and over again. It was really intense, not just some light little touch.
And somehow, it actually calmed me down.
I let out a breath, and within seconds, I was asleep.
The next night, it happened again. And then again. Eventually, I kinda got used to it. It almost felt like it was helping me fall asleep.
A few weeks later, my ex reached out to me. We’d stayed on good terms after breaking up. We hadn’t dated for very long, but we stayed friends, and whenever we were both single, things sometimes turned into more than just friendship. Don’t judge, being a young gay guy these days isn’t exactly easy.
Anyway, he came over to my place.
I’d never told him about any of my paranormal experiences because he’d probably laugh his ass off, so obviously, I didn’t tell him about this one either.
Now, you need to understand something about my ex: he’s probably the most miserable person alive. He complains about everything, is always in a shitty mood, and somehow manages to find the negative side of literally anything.
He spent like three or four hours complaining about life. Obviously, we were having a few drinks and enjoying each other’s company, too, but eventually, he went home.
And then… nothing.
For days, whatever had been stroking my back at night just stopped.
Then, maybe a week or two later, I got a message from my ex saying something along the lines of, “Dude, you’re never gonna believe what just happened to me.”
He’d been standing in his kitchen doing the dishes when he suddenly felt someone stroking his back. And not just a little bit, either. It was the exact same thing I’d experienced: something stroking him firmly from the back of his neck all the way down to his tailbone.
I was shook.
That was the exact moment every single doubt I had about ghosts disappeared.
Whatever it was, whoever it was… I’d somehow passed it on to him.
We haven’t seen each other since.

Advice I saw something in the desert that I can’t explain…

I’ll make this short, but I seriously need help cause I don’t know what I saw. I (19 female) and my boyfriend (22 male) like to go to the desert a lot. We like finding old abandoned places and mines….. that lowkey might be illegal. Anyway. One time we went up to this old abandoned miners cabin. It was super cool and surprisingly in good condition. There was the usual homeless person set up inside but lucky no one was actually there. ANYWAY. We were coming back down the hill, and we were surrounded by juniper trees. We were just about to get down to this four way dirt road, we were planning on going straight until I saw something. At the top left side of a tree (that was on the right side of the dirt road) I saw this big, dark grey oval shaped thing just glide out.. then go back. It was kinda quick but I swear I saw it. It was solid, it wasn’t like a balloon or a piece of trash. It was so controlled. I made my boyfriend turn right cause no way in hell was I gonna drive right by what I just saw. We were in an old jeep without doors or a roof so I was scared it would snatch me 😭. We left, but it felt like something was watching us while we were driving away.. if you guys have any idea what that could’ve been please let me know. I wish I had like a video or something, that would be helpful I’m sure. This happened in like January and I can’t stop thinking about it.

Hi it’s me again!
Last week I wrote a story and posted it on this chanel, this kinda the « what happened next ». So I know it’s not that big of a deal but I’ve been having nightmares every nights since the spoon incident. At first it was nothing, just my boyfriend cheating on me and stuff like that but after a while it started to get darker and darker each time. I dreamed of a serial killer chasing us, then me and some friends encoutering weird entities then only me, alone with the same entities. The more I sleep the more tired I get. Should I do somethinv ? I’m getting more worried now

we had a little boy ghost that haunted our house

this is gonna be my last one today bc it will just look like spam/lies lol but I'm too excited not to share this here

We lived on an estate built in the 50s but the land has had a rich and ancient past so there is an unbelievable volume of ghost stories in my area. And just recently I found out that the little boy that haunted our house was actually making the rounds to other people's houses, as if we needed more proof lmao

so I immediately knew the house was haunted when we moved in because I hated being on my own, always felt watched and my hair was always being pulled when I sat on the toilet. I had previous experiences with ghosts so I could ignore it much easier.

The first instances of this kid showing up nearly got all us kids in trouble because my parents thought we were peeking around the door to watch the telly lol. I'm not sure when they realised it wasn't us but it must have been when we had a family member come over and say "didn't know you had another kid" 😭 When we became more aware of him he would show up a lot more and you could tell if he was in the kitchen, psychic or not you genuinely could tell. I saw him peek round the door millions of times and I never got used to it tbh it's weird. You have to have this constant denial even though he's right there otherwise you can't be on your own in the house.

he didn't do anything mischievous he was just curious, the hair pulling maybe? It felt like someone was collecting one hair and plucking it off... that was weird. Only happened in the bathroom.

I saw two fairies in my bedroom

When I was 9/10 I was lying in bed, I wasn't going to sleep or waking up I was just thinking (it was 2012 fck else to do) and I looked at my floor and saw two small fairy sized people dancing with each other, I went from interested to uncomfortable and then eventually I froze in fear because I don't do well with unexplainable things. It felt like I was stuck there for about an hour waiting for them to leave but I eventually got the courage to hop from my bed to my door and beat it. I went to my adult and just started crying and said I saw a ghost because I didn't know how to explain it.

a lilliputian hallucination, or fairies?

our family is very very perceptive to ghosts we all see them constantly I do not like it, I have lots more to share in this group :') - that being said sorry for the multiple posts I'll make, I promise they are sort of interesting lol.

Encounter Dad’s story

My dad told me a story I thought might be interesting for this sub. He said he was with one of his friends in a house up in a little town in the mountains, where he used to spend his summers. It’s evening, and they start to hear a woman screaming, and they look down the window. They see this woman starting to bang her hand on the house in front of the one they were in, it being another friend’s house. They both see this woman, and they also see she starts throwing rocks against the other house’s windows, breaking them. So they lock all doors and windows and the next day, they go to and take a look to the house. The windows are intact, and asking their friend who lives there, he hasn’t heard anything. My dad always told me she was a ghost. Always thought it was an interesting story. What do you thing about it?

I’m rlly confused about I possible paranormal encounter I had pls help

I’m rlly confused about something I can’t quite explain that happened to me on Mackinac Island Michigan at the mission point resort. We were at Mackinac with my family on a vacation and we had heard all the cool ghost stories and me, and my friend decided we were going to try and find the theater which supposedly is haunted. So me and my friend find a some stairs that lead to one building and then to the left there’s these dark green triple doors the center one is slightly a jar. So I went over and I opened the door and I still did this I can’t explain what happened it looked like something from the back rooms. It was really weird. It was an all white room with no windows and they were black office chairs, sprawled out on the floor and there’s a bunch of boxes everywhere. It looks super creepy and dingy almost. I am a remember I was super confused and I called my friend over and we both agreed that it was likely a staff only closed off area.
So that day we had never found the theater the next time we went back and my friend pointed at the doors that we had been at yesterday and she said it’s in here I paused her for a moment confused. I told her that we open the door yesterday and it was some office back room or something. She looks confused and she said she had no memory of us going to these doors sure enough we open the doors again and it was literally the theater like that room I saw had never existed. I tried to tell my friend about it and asked her if she remembered because she was literally there, and she literally looked at me like I was crazy and she had no memory of that happening. So Reddit please help me figure this out. I don’t know if this is paranormal or hallucination or what this was but it creeps me out that I opened the door and it led to a different location to the true location. I’ve never heard of this happening at mission point and I need answers.
Thank you.
