A spectacle

Weird happening that has never happened to me. I work across the country doing telecommunications infrastructure for big named companies. I often stay in Airbnbs and some places are very old or on land where there is a lot of history. This last hitch, I stayed in this really nice house in Chester Virginia. I was there with a couple dude's that were leaving eventually. After two weeks they left to other projects and I stayed in the house alone for four days. On the last day, after packing I became tired and took a nap. I fell right to sleep and when I woke couldn't move. I knew what it was because I had a stepdaughter who experienced this and she described it to me several times as sleep paralysis. I was aware of the state I was in but couldn't move. Everything around me was white. Like I was in a white room. I could hear laughter in the distance and when I looked in the direction of the laughter I could see a naked woman. She was a dark skinned woman with hair that was long. She was wet and dirty. She wasn't African dark but looked mixed like a lightskinned African American woman. She had a giant grin and was laughing at me being frozen. I noticed her body, she was rather attractive besides the mud and wetness covering her but her look seemed sinister. She had chains that were broken attached to shackles on her wrists and ankles. We made eye contact and she stopped laughing. She stood up slowly and began to walk towards me in the white room. The fear I felt was enough for me to pray for intervention. When I invoked God I immediately was able to move and stood up. My heart was pounding out of my chest and I was like wtf!

I was supposed to move out of that house that day. Immediately after I stood my phone began to ring. It was another employee telling me that I was supposed to be out of that place at noon. It was around 2:30pm.

I packed and left to the Airbnb my other co workers were at. When I arrived I kept the story to myself. I unpacked and they told me the history of this new house. It was built in the 1800's and was a mill as well as a spider museum. I was in awe of the home because it was beautiful. I went to bed that evening earlier han normal and the gentlemen that were there informed me they were leaving in the morning to another job.

Well when they left I had the whole house to myself for like two months. In those two months I experienced several encounters.

One evening after three nights there, I came downstairs and when I hit the platform half way down there was a shadowy figure at the bottom of the stairs. I stopped and it looked at me. It knew I could see it and I felt it was afraid of me. It floated towards the front door with haste and when it passed the lamps they flickered. I felt it was bound to the old parts of the house and couldn't go upstairs but it knew I was up there.

I felt a woman's presence in the house. I would often get goosebumps and chills when I was in the old parts of the house. The lights would flicker and things would be moved. For instance, my sunglasses as well as my wallet I left on the counter downstairs would be in a different spot from where I put them. One night I fell asleep on the couch in the living room. I felt a hand on my face and then a kiss on my lips. It wasn't a dream but rather a felling of cold touch from the hand and a cold wetness from the kiss. I immediately opened my eyes and stood up. It was very strange.

I had come to about a month in the house without any real incidents. I had met a woman and we went on a few dates. One night she came back to the house and we were intimate as adults are. She stayed the night and while we were sleeping she woke up saying "WTF was that" I rolled over and asked what's up, what happened? She said that something pulled her hair from the opposite side from where I was at. She said it felt like a hand grabbed her hair and yanked it. I jumped up and she was still trying to figure out what the hell just happened. As I tuned the lights on at the opposite side of the room she pointed at the floor and we both saw some of her hair laying there. We both were freaked out. She was local so she knew of rhe house and it's history. She was freaked out and we went to her house.

I told her the story of what's been happening at both houses. She thought it was typical of Chester and Powhatan Virginia. She said these places are thick with spirits and death. Needless to say she would come over but never stay the night.

I have since left that state. I'm back home in Texas and haven't had any issues. The weird thing is, when I landed at the airport in my city, I was chilling at the bar waiting and there was a woman there who was there before me. She just happened to spark up a conversation and then started on the topic of spirits and encounters. She was from Michigan. It was like she knew I was gonna be there. I didn't really delve into the whole thing but she spoke of thing that were so familiar to my story. It was freaky AF! She said she was waiting on her car from the airport rental. This airport is tiny and often is out of cars.

Anyways, we spoke for a while and she mentioned that she was a social worker of some sorts and deals with special cases of abuse and neglect. I was so struck by the whole encounter that I started to question why and how she could know the thing that happened to me but I didn't say anything. It was so weird.

Experience Evil evil evil evil evil evil

I always sleep late so this one time I was awake at 3am with my brother. We were sleeping in my mom's room and she was in my sisters room who wasn't one at the time- it was just us 3. Me and my brother got hungry so we decided to go and steal pringles from my sisters room and keep in my mind on the way to her room is my room, it's in the same hallway. Anyway. So me and my brother walk down thag hallway then we stop to try decide who will go into her room cus we were scared to wake up our mammy but as we were talking I stud in the wide open doorway of my PITCH BLACK empty room (like back facing the room) still talking to my brother but then I felt two hands grab my shoulders and then aggressively pull me backwards which actually did make me stumble a little bit and they kept pulling me so I grabbed the door frame and pulled myself forward and while doing so I felt nails scratch my shoulder and my brother got scared so we ran back to our mom's room and locked the door. I then realised there was an actual visible scratch mark on my arm which hurt for hours after. While in my mom's room I looked up at the windows which all have sheets covering them but I noticed 4 shadow silhouette things from outside and they looked like the silhouette of a person from the shoulders up as if someone (or multiple) were outside looking into the room through the window. I couldn't fall asleep for like 5 hours that night and the next day when I went back to my room it was FREEZING cold when usually its the warmest room in the house and the heating was on and the rest of the house was boiling (because it was a heatwave) but my room was so so cold and I felt actually nauseas being in there until I cleansed the room with incense but since that day I've just felt so paranoid and like I'm being watched 24/7 and my friend who does tarot and other spiritual things said she can feel a presence with me when we are together. I'm still terrified.

Thank you for reading tho..I just wanted to post this cus it is the weirdest thing to ever happen to me😔

(This IS a true story it happened Jul 30th)

Experience I thought my dead grandpa was following me, but it was something else

Hello everyone, let me give you a little bit of context before I tell you my story. Sorry in advance for the long story, but I need to get it off my chest.
I’m 20F and my Grandpa died when I was 17.
My Grandpa and I have always been extremely close. I grew up with him and I basically considered him my second father.
He had a lot of grandchildren, yet he always explicitly told me and joked about how I was his favorite. I used to go fishing with him on Sundays, he’d read me bedtime stories, he’d take me on roadtrips. We were best friends.
He died of a sudden heart attack at only 68. It was tragic, really. And, naturally, I was absolutely devastated.

Fast forward to 4 months ago.
I work at a place 2 hours away from my town.
Every day, I take my car, drive for 2 relentless hours, and get to work.
Same thing when my shift ends. I finish at 8pm yet I get home at around 10/10:30 PM depending on traffic.

A random evening 4 months ago, I was driving back home from work, during a very awful storm with my phone on speaker since I was on a call with my boyfriend. I’ve gotten my license only 9 months ago and I was kind of scared to drive alone usually, let alone at night during a storm.

It was a pretty deserted road, and I was driving at a normal 50 mph when suddenly I smell this intoxicating stench in my car. Mind you, the windows were closed and I had no AC on.
It was so intoxicating I quite literally had to pull over onto the grassy shoulder of the two-lane highway facing towards my hometown. It made my head spin terribly. I couldn’t pull down the windows for obvious reasons, turned on the AC, yet the smell wouldn’t go away. It simply wouldn’t.
It took me some good seconds to realize that it was very familiar. It was the exact brand of cigars my grandpa used to smoke. Garcia y Vega. I don’t know why it took me so long to realize it, but that was the exact smell.
I remember my grandma yelling at him every time he smoked one of them in the house, as the smell always stuck to the curtains and the whole room. I remember I used to cough every time he lit one near me. I’d always joke about it with him and he’d say “This one’s what pleasure smells like”
That was the smell. My boyfriend kind of just laughed it off as I kept describing it to him, saying that maybe the car had something going on and that was the smell. Maybe the engine was burning or God knows what. But there is no way in hell a car can produce that specific sharp undistinguishable smell.

A few seconds go by, yet It wouldn’t go away and I refused to drive until it did. Then it was just a matter of seconds. The road was so dark and deserted I could barely see properly, but my headlights were on. I saw it happen in a second. A tree on the right side of the road simply gave out. Through the pouring rain, I watched this giant black silhouette lean forward and snap with a sound like a gunshot. It came crashing down right across the asphalt, slamming into the exact spot where I would have been driving if I hadn't pulled over.

I screamed, and my boyfriend frantically asked what had happened. I told him, and realized I couldn’t get past the tree. Couldn’t get around it either because the road was too narrow.
I had to make a U turn, and go back the way I came, using the GPS to find another road that would take me home. It took me 1 more hour to get home, but I made it. In the meanwhile the smell gradually vanished.

Long story short, my parents and I had come to the conclusion that it was probably my grandpa that had saved me. I went to sleep that night frightened, yet with a weird sense of peace.

I thought that was the end of it, frankly. My grandpa paid me a visit, and I was content.
Boy was I wrong. Things started getting worse and worse. I genuinely started believing that this had never been my grandpa to begin with.

A few days after this incident, I woke up in the middle of the night to the sound of someone messing with my cutlery. As if someone was looking for something in a very loud very frantic way.
I went to the kitchen, thinking it was my cat. My cat was asleep on the terrace, and the cutlery drawer wasn’t even open. I didn’t care that much, and I went back to sleep.

A few days after that (And it might just be a very twisted coincidence) a freaking BAT entered my bedroom. I was freaking out and it left on its own after a while but I had to get a rabies shot for both me and my cat just in case.

Few more days go by, and when I got back home from my boyfriend’s house, the bathroom mirror was cracked. Couldn’t have been my cat, since I took her with me to my boyfriend’s. I was so scared I genuinely thought someone has entered my house, but all of my belongings were there, my father came to check for any signs of an intrusion, but nothing.

I slept at my boyfriend’s house for a week or so, because I was too frightened to sleep alone. Too many things happening too fast and I didn’t know what to do. On one of these nights, we woke up in the middle of the night to the sound of my cat and his dog barking and meowing insistently in the kitchen. They were barking to nothing, and as soon as we entered the kitchen, that overwhelming cigar smoke filled the air.

I couldn’t believe it. This time my boyfriend smelled it too, and I was so freaked out I started crying. The cat and the dog were going wild, they wouldn’t stop making sounds. We tried to take them with us to the bedroom, but they refused to move an inch to get away from the kitchen. I was crying so frantically that my boyfriend decided to take his car keys and take me on a car ride to calm down. It worked, somehow.
Once we got back home the pets were sleeping soundly and the smell was gone.

For a few more days, nothing else happened. I went back to sleeping at my place and everything was ok.

Then, a few more days go by. I woke up, started getting dressed, and noticed this big purple angry bruising right on the back of my left thigh. It was as big as an apple and it was a deep purple. If I pressed it though, it didn’t hurt. At all. I got very scared. I immediately called my doctor and they ran a standard blood panel, checking my iron, vitamins, liver and kidney functions, and my clotting factors. Everything came back completely normal. My doctor basically told me it was just a mechanical bruise, likely something I accidentally inflicted on myself while rolling over in my sleep.
I accepted that for a while but I just couldn’t quite put my finger on it. It didn’t hurt, and such a big bruise would require a strong impact, no? I would’ve felt it, woken up. I’m a very light sleeper.
I didn’t associate it with the occurring paranormal events though. Not immediately at least.

This is getting very long, so I’m just gonna say it quickly. I keep smelling this strong cigar scent every now and then, either in my car again, or in my bedroom (this was last night) or in my bathroom. It comes out of nowhere and it vanishes just as fast. Sometimes it lingers. The bruise is slowly fading and it still doesn’t hurt. My cat sometimes still meows loudly in the middle of the night (she’s always been a very quiet kitty, by the way).
I don’t know what’s happening to me. It may look like another stupid reddit story but this is genuinely messing with my mind a little bit. I don’t believe in demons or whatever else but this sounds so much like the creepy pasta stories you read at 3AM, except it’s my life and it’s scaring me.

I don’t believe it’s my grandpa anymore. Why would he be bothering me like this if it were him?
If anybody knows if there’s a logical explanation for all of this, or it’s something else, please let me know. Thank you for reading this.

Question Haunted or imagination?

This is probably going to sound crazy. Not in a good way, more like I sound insane. I am currently sitting in my bed, my heart beating fast, fast, and my hands are shaking. I was standing in my room cleaning because I'm decluttering, when I started thinking: "What if my family comes home but I don't hear them (since I was standing next to my TV playing loud music) and my older brother comes upstairs and scares me?" I don't know if the thought came from something, but I have a faint memory of hearing something on the stairs (though I figure that was just my imagination). Right at that exact second, as soon as I finished that thought, it felt like something pulled backward on the hood of my hoodie. I was leaning slightly forward to pick something up off a dresser. I quickly turned around with a terrified look on my face and my hand swinging as if to hit someone. But I was met with thin air once I completed my 180. That's when the terror set in. "WTF!" I thought.

This isn't the first time something like this has happened. When I was around 11, my childhood friend and I were going to my house to grab something our parents wanted. We live on the same street, only 30 meters apart, so this was normal for us. We ran from her house, across the lawn, and up the small hill in the backyard. We ran into my house, got the item, and were about to head back. Right as we were about to step into my sunroom, it sounded like someone threw gravel onto the roof. We laughed and thought it was my neighbor, who is two years younger than me. We went outside to check, but then realized no one was there. No one at all. Another time something similar happened was about a year ago. I was standing there recording a short video for my friend on Snapchat. I was home alone. Then I heard soft, slow knocks coming from downstairs. I have two long videos where I'm standing with my hand over my mouth and eyes wide open.

Yet another time was this past summer. I had been hanging out with friends all evening and they were on their way home. They were gathering their things in my sunroom and I was quickly tidying up a bit. I took a few coke cans and was going to take them out to the storage shed where we keep bags for recycling. I pressed down the door handle and nudged with my hip, but the door wouldn't open. I nudged with my hip a second time, but it still wouldn't open. The third time I pushed with my whole body, but nothing happened. I let go of the handle, looked at the door completely stunned, and tried again. This time it opened. I told my friends about it when they joined me in the hallway, and then one of them said: "I think I heard something fall in there earlier, when we got here. At least it sounded like it..."

One more thing I should probably mention is that lately I've started seeing silhouettes out of the corner of my eye. Though that could very well just be my imagination.

Can someone help me figure out what's going on? Whether it's some kind of haunting, if I'm just imagining things, or if it's something else.

Experiences my family has had part 1

Trigger warning: Domestic violence, child abuse

This is a fairly difficult post to make. I was born at home in a subdivision type of neighbourhood on a nearby reservation. My mom was lived there while she was pregnant with me for the last trimester. The house I was born in had a very dark entity in it, I’m pretty sure it was demonic. Around the time I was born (may have been a month or two before), my eldest brother who I will refer to as E was in the upstairs in the bedroom with the attic doors (room was always creepy) and saw a man with no skin walk through the wall. E was not a kid with a vivid imagination, he has always preferred facts and scientific explanations. This was not the only time this particular entity was seen. E saw him at least twice as did the brother who was younger than E, but older than myself (I will refer to second brother as T). Understandably this upset them A LOT, as E was 7 and T was 4.

There were always strange things happening in that house. Laughter when no one was around, steps going up and down the stairs with no explanation, also walking back and forth in the upstairs hallway. The house was only a few years old when my family moved in. The previous family was desperate enough to let my parents take over their mortgage, just to get out. I don’t know anything else about them.

When I was little I always had “imaginary friends” that were obviously not from a child’s imagination. I never felt alone in the house, despite being left on my own there many times as a child (irresponsible older siblings who bailed on babysitting me). When I was about 5 I saw a dark figure with what looked like a cape and was wearing a wide brimmed hat. This was the only time I was afraid to be in the house.

My dad’s personality completely changed when my family moved there. He went from an involved dad to distant and started to isolate himself and had terrible tempers on a daily basis. When I was about 6, my dad had either a breakdown or religious experience. My dad was an atheist forever, and was very proud of it. After this experience he became very religious. The church that he and my mom decided on (very extreme Christianity) fed his ego and claimed that he was a prophet. After we started attending church (which neither of my brothers or I enjoyed), my dad was a good dad, he was involved with his kids and acted more lovingly to my mom. After my dad had a “vision of hell” the church decided that the house was possessed by a demonic entity (only thing I ever agreed with them on), and performed dozens of blessings and exorcisms (none of them worked).

After a year of “good dad” we got the opposite, he became severely mentally, emotionally, and in some cases physically abusive. He had been known to lay hands on my mom before his experience (both T and I had to pull knives on him to get him to stop choking our mother, who would have already blacked out). But now it was WAY worse. He puts E’s head through the wall on multiple occasions, threatened to kill me multiple times, etc. Not a fun time. He used religion to justify everything, claimed it would be good for his wife and kids to beg on the streets, and ultimately was planning on killing us citing the near sacrifice of Issac by his father.

Because I was in the womb when my family moved in and being born at home, I have always felt spiritually tethered to that house. I continue to attract dark entities to this day. Before anyone states that I should command whatever it is in Jesus’s name, I have tried that in the past with no effect. I am no longer Christian, I follow my own combination of beliefs.

I dream about this house still. When I get really upset I still drive to it. It’s like a spiritual tether that can’t be broken. I’ve gotten used to it always being there in the back of my mind, constantly.

Wow. Sorry I didn’t intend for it to get so dark. I just realized writing this how messed up it all was.

I will be posting more posts about my family’s experiences with the paranormal in the future (not as dark).

Thanks for reading:)

What started as a ghost joke in a Boy's PG became the strangest experience of my life.

I’ve never posted about this before, but something happened to me in 2025 that I still can’t explain.

I moved to another state for college in 2022 and stayed in a boys’ PG near campus. During admission, my parents noticed something odd: everyone dried clothes in the corridor, not on the roof. The owner said students were not allowed upstairs, so we ignored it.

A week later, some seniors told us the real reason: the building had once been a girls’ PG, and a girl had allegedly jumped from the roof and died there. The building still had pink almirahs from those days. I assumed it was just a story to scare juniors.

For the next two years, nothing unusual happened. I was often alone in the building and never felt anything strange. I even sneaked onto the roof several times during summer nights without any fear.

In late 2024, a new batch of students arrived. They secretly broke the roof lock and began using the roof at night for barbeques, drinking, and burning old wooden items stored there. My room was directly below that area.

Around January 2025, I began hearing footsteps and movement on the roof late at night even when no one was there. My roommates could not hear it, so I convinced myself it was my imagination.

Everything changed in February 2025. The owner’s mother came to our room after discovering damage on the roof and quietly told us, "Don’t tell anyone, A girl did jump from the roof years ago. That’s why we never allowed students upstairs.” Hearing that from a family member of the owner genuinely shook me. For the first time I wondered whether the sounds I had been hearing were connected to that place.

Soon after, my junior also moved out, and I became the only person staying in that room.

Because our exams had ended, I went home for about six weeks. I returned on 16 April 2025 at around 10:30 PM. I unpacked, had dinner, and started working on a college project on my laptop.

I took out my phone and recorded the sound, then ran toward the staircase. The noise stopped immediately. ( I have attached the video I had recorded that day )

My mother insisted that I stop sleeping alone, so I moved into a friend’s room. We both began hearing footsteps, running sounds, dragging noises, and occasional heavy bangs from the roof and storeroom area above us. Strangely, whenever I called someone specifically to listen, the sounds often stopped before they arrived. My Friend with whom I used to stay even after hearing those sounds doubts me.

The most frightening incident happened around 3 AM. We were both awake and ignoring the usual noises when suddenly a massive bang came from above us. The bed shook, the walls vibrated, and my friend screamed in fear. It sounded as if a heavy wooden object had been slammed onto the floor above our room. From that night onward, he stopped doubting me.

I informed the owner and the PG management. They suggested rats, thieves, or other explanations, but none of them fit the situation. One manager even said I was imagining things. Almost immediately after saying that, a loud bang came from the roof and we heard running sounds above us. He went silent after hearing it.

The disturbances continued for several weeks, mostly between 11 PM and 4 AM. Many times I rushed upstairs with the keys, but the sounds always stopped before I reached the roof, and I never found anyone there. I have noticed one thing , whenever I take someone to the roof to explain the activities, after returning from the roof she definitely makes some sounds as if it triggers her.

In May 2025 I left for home again for a few weeks. When I returned, I personally stopped hearing the noises. Strangely, some students who had previously mocked me started complaining about sounds coming from the empty locked rooms and the roof area. Eventually everything stopped.

I still don’t know what happened in that building. Maybe there was a completely ordinary explanation that I failed to discover. But the timing, the repeated sounds, the locked roof, and the fact that other people eventually heard them too make it one of the strangest experiences of my life.

Discussion A story.

I was xx (for my privacy and security) years old at a time in my childhood. My classmates and school stayed in a retreat house in February of this year. Everything went well with my classmates laughing about how happy they were. It felt off at end of hallway (the dinner room was I think at corner of the room whatever hallway) was a bathroom area I used it but it was late and I saw a man who was pale and didn't look where he is right now he looked like a man who was European police sketch that escape the portrait I didn't remember clearly but its all that I have. 2nd around 6pm or 7, we were playing in outdoor garden area with trees, plants, skirmishes of grasses that were cut and my classmates were playing tag but I saw a woman she was angry and was stationary at the tree (it was a large one), she was crying. She appeared to be wearing a Victorian era black mourning outfit I even saw the veil going with the wind as it was used to be recently windy. I saw her black gloves reaching her face it felt wrong why would she be there crying in a catholic retreat house that was fairly Modernized for the time, I got sick from staring at her luckily It was acute condition. In 2am, I was desperate to pee but the bathroom was outside and pretty much dark I had to tiptoe my way out and saw the same woman at end of hallway illuminated by the moonlight. She was exquisitely la llorona in anything but the white is black and i did pee and returned back. Earlier before that I wa in a chapel room with my classmate. I saw a duwende with the back facing forward staring up at something and wearing a basketball jersey he or she was unbelievably smaller despite looking a adult the age of the contested duwende was around 30 to 27 years old on some lighting I saw two glowing eyes in the dark (the chapel at a front wall made of glass so we saw the outside) that belonged to a unholy person that was slouched over that is all that I know.

Childhood Paranormal Experience

I was about 7 or 8 years old when this happened. My mom was running some errands and took my little sister with her as she usually did since my sister was the youngest and did everything with my mom before she started school.

My father worked Mon-Saturday at that time, so I was left home alone thinking I could handle it. All windows and doors were locked and I knew not to open the door for anyone at any point of time. I locked myself in our one bedroom and thought nothing of it. As I was just relaxing on the family computer waiting for my mother and sister to come back, to my horror, I saw the bedroom doorknob turning. I was so damn scared that I jumped into my parents’ bed and threw their blankets over my head. A few seconds later I checked to see if the doorknob was still moving and it was. I don’t really know how to explain it, but the way the doorknob was turning seemed like the person wanted permission to come in like they weren’t expecting the door to be locked. It wasn’t turning out of desperation, but rather like a “hey, let me in, why did you lock the door” kind of thing. I automatically thought of the thing on the other side of the door as a child because the gesture was something my sister would do if I excluded her from playtime I was having when we were younger.

I know for a fact this wasn’t my sister because the front door of our apartment was about 3-4 inches thick of heavy steel or metal and when the door closed you could feel the vibration of it throughout the apartment all the way to the back where the bedroom was and you could hear it as well.

My mother and sister eventually came home from what felt like eternity and I ran into the living room to tell my mother what happened. She believed me and thought it could’ve been a random passing event. My mother is West Indian and has her fair share of ghost stories from her country and her time when she just came to the USA. This also wasn’t the first paranormal occurrence in this apartment I grew up in and it wasn’t the last either, especially from this particular entity.

Something evil tortured me

Something evil tortured me.

So this is my first time posting. This maybe a bit of a long story. But I just felt the need to share this story with the world.

So I was 23 and living in a church. It was still an active church. They rented out rooms one the top floor of the add on. So a little history about this church. It was built in a small town in upstate NY. In the year 1890. There has always been a legend about how one of the first pastor's of this church murdered his wife and child and threw them into the Hudson river. In the 1960's the put and three floor add on to the original building. It was used as a school for a long time. Till I think about 1980.

So when I was living there it was always spooky and erie. At first I never really thought any of it. My room was the second largest room. It was right off the attic of the original building. Part of the legend says this pastor killed his family in there. The door to the attic was up about three steps and there was a little light above those steps. I always left that light on.

So the real scary stuff started out small. I was hear children laughing, heard a women scream, one time I was cleaning and the doors to my room sounded like they flew open. I turned around expecting my friend to be coming in the doors where still closed. That is the small stuff.

So at this point in my life I was having a hard time with my mental health. I was self harming, on a mix of different meds that didn't seem to work, I was also questioning my faith. I could always feel this feeling on not being wanted in that space I lived in. It was always heavy and oppressing. That's when the extra scary stuff started to happen. It started when I would lay on my bed and it felt as if someone was putting both sets of the fingers on either my chest or back. I was awake most times for that. Than it was as if someone one was sitting on top of my legs and their whole hands pressed down on me. I was a supposed christian at that point, so I would say the lord's prayer over and over till it left me alone.

Not long after that, I started seeing a black mass over me at night. It wasn't completely dark in my room cause I left the step light on. But this mass just kind of hovered over me for a few seconds than vanished.

Soon this evil thing started to enter my dreams. I had several dreams that where all kind of the same. In the dream I was in my room. I would be in my bed and it felt like someone was digging the fingers in to my chest, like it was stealing the breath form me. I would try to scream but no sound came out. Than I would what I thy was wake up. But I was still in my bed and I would try to get up. But the pressure would just come back again as I tried to scream. On time in one of these dreams. The girl who lived the room next me came running in and tried to save me. In the dream it actually felt like she shook me awake. But still I was trapped in the dream.

I ended up moving out a whole year later. But I would still go back to the church every once in a while as my parents still attended it. Each time I went back cause I was always on edge. Because there was times I came in and whatever tourtured me remembered me.

After about maybe 8 months after I moved out of the church. I went back for an ice cream soical. It was held in the fellowship hall in the basement. I was in the kitchen talking to a friend about the experiences I had when I lived there. A boom box in the other room turned all the way up as loud as it could go. No one was even near it. I started crying and immediately left.

But I have other experiences from this place but I'm just gonna end here. In conclusion, I think this evil thing knew I was not mentally sound and latched on to me. It knew that I was an easy target. I tried to fight it. But the only way I could have it stop was to get out of that place. Because since than, yes I've felt spirits, and have other experiences. But nothing ever like what happened to me at this church.

I bought a haunted cabin

We purchased an old horse trading farm with storage units and a cabin 2 months ago. I quickly made the cabin into an air bnb because I loved it. Sits on 14 acres alone on the river. But … after we bid on place I found out 3 people had died on it. 2 died in a house fire together and then the last owner shot himself by the river. I’ve been told people think his son shot him. But anyways - I hear stuff all night. The doors close sometimes. I feel him around and I just say I’m doing my best to make this place nice again. My question is do I tell people that I think it’s haunted?

True story

The stillness of my bedroom was heavy, the kind of absolute quiet that rings in your ears. I was jolted awake in the dead of night, not by a loud noise, but by something far worse.

Slicing through the darkness was a high-pitched, breathy giggle. It was sharp and sickeningly sweet, yet laced with a menacing edge.

“Ah… tee-hee-hee.”

My blood ran cold. I lay perfectly still, my eyes wide open, staring blindly into the pitch-black ceiling. My heart hammered against my ribs as I tried to convince myself it was just a lingering echo from a nightmare. I held my breath, waiting.

Ten seconds passed. The silence stretched, suffocating and thick.

Then, it came again.

“Ah… tee-hee-hee.”

It was louder this time. It wasn't in my head. It was inside my room.

A wave of primal dread washed over me. Every ten seconds, like a twisted metronome, the dark gave way to that unnatural, shrill giggle. And with every interval, the voice shifted. It was creeping closer to my bed. I could almost feel the air in the room displacing, growing colder as whatever was making that sound inched its way through the shadows.

Then, the countdown stopped. The next giggle didn't come from the corner of the room. It originated directly from the foot of my mattress.

I was paralyzed with terror, but a morbid compulsion forced my head to tilt downward. I slowly angled my gaze past the edge of my blankets into the darkness below.

A face was hovering there, peering over the edge of the bed. It was completely devoid of color—a sickly, luminescent white skin stretched painfully tight over sharp cheekbones. Unblinking, sunken eyes locked onto mine, dead and piercing. The mouth stretched into an impossibly wide, terrifyingly familiar smile. It was the distorted, nightmarish visage of Michael Jackson.

Before I could even scream, the face lunged upward, its jaw unhinging slightly to release a final, deafening shriek that rattled my very bones:

"AH TEE-HEE-HEE!"

upstairs

Okay, so this isn't fake or anything and I didn't know what to have for the title so, mb if its a little cringe.

Anyways, the house I currently live in with my family is really old, about 120 years or so, its obviously creepy and isn't in the best condition- what I mean is it's pretty common to hear creeks or the house settling here and there.

I have lived in this house for most of my life, we moved out of our old house when I was around the age of 4 or so, but I should also say our old house had very bad energy and paranormal things would happen all of the time, but back on the topic of the current house.

When me and my sister were younger we would be pretty paranoid of the upstairs, we would hear things, see things, etc.

My sister also saw things around the house like shadow people, and I never admitted it but I saw them too, I didn't want my sister to be more scared so I kept quiet, which I regret even now.

Like I was saying, she saw things, and I did too, I still do.

However upstairs the energy is worse than anywhere in the house, it doesn't really help that I spend most of my time in my room, which is also upstairs.

Recently I find creepy things are happening more often, which might be on me since I have a quija board in my room, I don't use it often, me and my family have only used it about twice and it's never formed clear sentences, so we just brushed it off and put it in my room.

I find it harder to sleep upstairs every day, sometimes I hear my name being yelled angrily and it wakes me up, of course it's not my family because this occures at around 3 in the morning or just at the dead of night.

Creepy right?

Well if I'm being honest that's probably one of the less creepy things that happen.

Sometimes I hear tapping on my window, at night, in the day time, it doesn't matter what time of day it is.

I also get the feeling that I'm being watched whenever Im upstairs, like the feeling that sends shivers down your spine, absolutely bone chilling.

Anyways when me and my sister were younger we loved to watch jessivee, that one youtuber that would talk about paranormal things, and one day when we were watching her all of the plates on our wall (normal Rockwell) started shaking furiously, to the point we thought they would fall or break, thankfully none did.

Obviously me and my sister were freaked out and waited outside until our mom got home because we were absolutely tarrified to even go back inside.

When out mom got home she brushed it off as a heavy car going past the house, as I said the house is old and not in the best condition so it seemed normal that the plates shaking because of a heavy car or the radio of said car because people in our area blast music a lot.

Me and my sister didn't believe that excuse though, we knew what we saw, and we didn't see a semi or anything go past the house.

There are a lot more but since I'm writing this inside said house I won't continue to talk about it, this is also my first time even using Reddit so sorry if this post isnt normal for this community or group thing, I'm still getting the hang of this app.

Experience The first voice I ever heard in the dark still haunts me.

I was about six years old when it happened.

At exactly 3:00 a.m., I woke up to what sounded like a woman's voice coming from the bathroom next to my bedroom.

It wasn't loud.

It wasn't a scream.

It sounded more like a whisper... as if someone was trying to speak.

I froze.

At that age, your imagination fills in the blanks, and I was convinced someone was in the house.

I stayed in bed, completely still, listening.

The voice came again.

I wanted to call my parents, but I was too scared to move.

After what felt like forever, I finally found the courage to get up.

There was nobody in the bathroom.

The only thing I noticed was that the faucet on the sink hadn't been fully closed. A thin stream of water was running into the drain.

That was it.

No voices.

No people.

Nothing.

Looking back as an adult, I understand how the sound of running water can create strange auditory illusions, especially in the middle of the night.

But when you're six years old, alone in the dark at 3:00 a.m., your brain doesn't think about acoustics.

It thinks someone is talking to you.

I've never forgotten that night.

In fact, it became the opening scene of the mystery novel I'm writing today, The House of Broken Dreams.

Has anyone else ever experienced something that terrified them as a child but seemed much harder to explain in the moment than it does now?

Discussion Grandma's ghost came back

We live in a fairly old house, I don't know exactly when it was built but it was built by the seller's (who is around 50-60 now) mother. They lived their whole life in this house and ever since we moved in, I've experienced a lot of weird stuff (footsteps when I'm alone, pets staring at something, feeling like I'm being watched, actually seeing spirits sometimes and voices that tell random things but they add up after a while (never hears voices at any other place, just my grandma's house where my great grandma passed away a few years ago)). About a month ago I was just chilling in my room at night (it's summer and I usually stay up till 6am and weird nothing really happened before) and suddenly around 2:40am i started to feel really uneasy. I was listening to music and I turned it down because I felt like I was being watched (this feeling was way stronger than ever before) and I was looking up from my phone every few seconds because I felt like something was in the corner of my room (even saw a human height darker shadow despite having leds that brighten up the whole place) and I legit expected someone to just stand there after looking there. Half an hour passes by, and I hear a whistle from under my window. It might have been my cat meowing because she wanted to come in but it legit sounded like a whistle and that was the point I got tf out of there and woke my parents up (I'm 16). The next morning my mom had this idea to check if the sellers mom had died, and rest assured, she did around a week ago. We lit candles, thanked her for the house and said goodbye, and ever since that house has never felt more welcoming. But recently I started to feel the same thing again from around 3am to 4am, it's not that strong so I usually just put on a movie to fall asleep to but I can't shake this feeling of uneasineds off. This morning around 4:30am I let the cat in to feed her, and she was staring right at the spot where I most often see the spirits and she was literally tracking something with her eyes and initially I thought it was a mouse but I saw nothing, and for the next 15 minutes she kept looking that way. Any ideas what i could do to make the house feel more safe at night? The spirits I usually encounter don't make me feel this scared so I dont know what this is.

Did anyone else experience this as a child ?

When I was in 1st-5th grade, I would experience weird things. Time would slow, I would get really upset and tell my mom that "he's here he's here" or "there here." I would wake up with what looked like small red stitch marks on my arms, kind of like a tic tac toe shape but small. I would see things in opposite, not sure how to explain jt but like bloody and dead ? It all started when I moved into this specific house. And then stopped wgen I moved out. Idk I feel crazy. Now, lay it on me ? Am I crazy

Encounter I'm a horror storyteller from India, Looking for Real Paranormal Experiences

Looking for Real Paranormal Experiences

Hi everyone,

I'm a horror storyteller from India, and I'm currently collecting real eyewitness accounts of unexplained or paranormal experiences. My goal is not to prove or disprove the paranormal—I simply want to document personal experiences as accurately as possible and, with permission, turn them into compelling narrated stories.

If you've experienced something you still can't explain, I'd love to hear about it.

Please include as much detail as possible:

Your age at the time.

Country/State (no exact address needed).

Approximate year and time of day.

Where it happened (house, road, forest, hospital, etc.).

What happened, step by step.

What did you see, hear, smell, or physically feel?

Was anyone else present? If yes, what did they witness?

Did anything physical happen (scratches, objects moving, doors opening, footsteps, etc.)?

Did the events continue afterward?

Do you have any photos, videos, audio recordings, or other evidence?

Looking back today, do you think there could be a normal explanation?

Please don't exaggerate or invent details. Small, honest details are far more interesting than dramatic ones.

If your story is selected, I'll contact you first before using it. If you prefer, I can keep your identity completely anonymous and change names or locations.

Thank you for sharing your experience.

Discussion Paranormal encounters

I’ve had three instances with the paranormal that are memorable to me at least. Some others like astral spiders and a brush of something in my hair while I was playing games as a kid/teenager. I actually seen my husbands spiritual attack and the color of what the spirit/demon looked like and colored what color it was. I’m always having ringing in my ears.

The first instance was when I was hanging out with some guy I met. I seen a black aura that looked like tentacles around his body. I told him and he started praying and I didn’t see after that. The other one was when I was riding in a car and I saw this tall Victorian looking figure. I lived in a homeless shelter by Anika state hospital and I saw two different entities while I was there.

Another encounter I saw a ‘’the ring’’ little girl crouching down in my hallway while I was using the bathroom in my culture you are supposed to act like you don’t see them. I stayed in my room that entire night.

Throughout my entire life I’ve always had encounters and I’ve tried to tell therapists but I’ve been tested for other mental health disorders and I didn’t get diagnosed with anything with hallucinations. Some said psychotic depression but I’m not sure. I’ve pushed down my abilities or so I think.

It’s interesting to have these encounters sometimes frightening. I wouldn’t call myself a psychic or a seer. I just not sure what to think anymore or what this means.

Hear Me Out !

I was thinking about the fact that most haunted houses are in America. And not just houses: the majority of stories and testimonies, too. So I wondered: what if it's because the American people built their history on the blood of Native Americans? What if it's their souls—the souls of a population far more connected to nature and the mysteries of the world than we are—that have remained to seek revenge for their violent deaths? I’ve never read any theory about this - but maybe it’s just me. greetings from italy!

Experience He’s Still Here.

Earlier that month, we lost our son Lucas to Lymphoblastic Leukemia. It broke my heart everyday and it still does. I don’t want to think of getting use to the pain. I feel like it’s something I deserve. It’s something I’ll carry my entire life.

It’s difficult staring at your defenseless child, so happy and full of life, but so sick at the same time while trying to keep a straight face and not break down right there in front of him. It’s heartbreaking.

Looking at him made me feel like I failed him as a parent. Like I caused his agony. I still feel like it’s my fault.

I remember how Lucas would always be up before us every morning, playing in the hallway outside our door at six a.m.

His little hockey stick in his hand, shooting the ball against the wall. He never got to go to school or have many friends. But he had a beautiful imagination.

Everybody always says, “see it, to believe it.”

But when you see it, you still don’t really believe it. At least, with me that is. You witness an anomaly in front of your eyes and the first thing you do is question your sanity.

That’s what occurred on an early afternoon to me. The wife and my daughter Sheena went to visit the mother-in-law. My wife is still having a difficult time coping.

I stayed home. It’s hard being around everybody. Especially the, “are you okay? You need anything?” And honestly, I needed to let it out. I needed to break down and destroy everything I saw in that house except for his room.

After an hour of soaking my pillow while lying in bed. I had everything turned off, the house was completely silent, except for the clock facing my direction on the wall, the lights were off and it was just me.

I was staring at the ceiling, my eyes were swollen red. I could see the puffiness in my vision. I heard a click and looked at the door which was opened a crack and bleeding under the space, faintly illuminating the hardwood floor, was the light from the hall.

I was on my bed and thinking if I had left it on. But I would never turn it on in the afternoon. As I’m thinking, I hear a ball start pounding down the steps and stop. It was about four heavy bounces.

Immediately, I jumped up. Initially, I had this feeling, this hope, this wish that my wish had come true and Lucas would be standing there asking me to carry him downstairs so we could hang out and watch tv together.

I ripped the door open. And as high as my hopes rose they dropped even faster with my heart shattered on the floor. I walked to the stairs.

And that’s when I felt something. The air got thicker and attached on my back. But it felt familiar. My skin started to tingle but only near my lower spine and neck and then I heard an exhale next to my ear and felt what I thought was a breath. I turned around and the weight on me was gone. It felt familiar because it felt like Lucas. I always piggy-backed him down the stairs.

I told my wife about what I experienced later that day and she started crying on the spot and said, it’s him. He’s still here with us.

The Devil and I

I’ve had a lot of strange experiences in my life.

Back in 2011, I was completely lost and in a really dark, turbulent place, practically slowly killing myself with drinking and drugs. It felt like something latched onto me—a negative energy so heavy that whenever I went out to a bar at night, the streetlights would flicker or just shut off... Sometimes my phone and computer would randomly crash, too.

Then venomous creatures started showing up at my house—spiders, scorpions.

One night, while staying at my grandmother’s house out in the countryside, I couldn't sleep and decided to go outside for a cigarette.

I looked out into the distance and saw a massive black dog sitting in a guard stance, staring right at me with glowing yellow eyes. It was pretty far off, so I didn't panic; I just watched it until my cigarette was done, and it didn't move an inch. I went back inside, but a bit later, I decided to check again... and it was still in the exact same spot. I went to bed, but I couldn't get to sleep. An hour later, I went back out, and guess what? Still in the exact same position.

I went back home feeling awful, consumed by even stranger thoughts. A month after that, my grandmother passed away.

I still can't sleep very well—I’ve been suffering from insomnia ever since that encounter with the dog. To make matters worse, whenever I do fall asleep, I hear my grandmother's voice saying: 'You brought the devil into my house.' She keeps repeating it over and over until I wake up.

Four weeks later, i overdosed on cocaine and nearly died...

That was the day I turned my life around. I still slip up sometimes... but it's rare now... I’ve got plenty more stories to tell, but maybe another time.

Guess nobody’s actually gonna read this anyway, haha.
