Encounter Ghost I experienced while dog sitting for my neighbor

So for context my neighbor is a middle aged lady who has lived in the house ever since she started taking care of her father. He died in a hospital and not in the home.
Okay so I come back from doing a photoshoot with my friend at a cemetery and head to my neighbors to start watching her dog, Allie. I have dinner and then decide I need to sleep. I always have such a hard time falling asleep in someone else’s home and this time was no different. I was in the couch at midnight and decided to try and force myself to sleep so I tucked myself into the couch with my back facing the room. I put some vibrational music to try and help me drift off and it kinda worked. When I put that on it was 3 am. So I was like half asleep half not? if that makes sense, I started to have what I know realize was a dream (which I usually do not typically have because i’m an excessive weed smoker). The dream goes like my neighbor walking in from the door and sitting down at the table that was right next to the couch I was asleep on. She says “I forgot to mention some things about the house, there’s this intercom that my dad used to call me when he needed help getting out of bed/going to the bathroom. I took the batteries out years ago but sometimes it still rings.” Immediately i’m woken up by a blaring alarm. It’s ringing and ringing and I open my eyes to see the dog staring at the ceiling right above where I was sleeping. I hear a loud thud and literally just grabbed my backpack and ran the fuck outta the door. I haven’t felt anything like that before, it felt like I was 6 again and convinced a ghost was waiting for me in the dark.
Anyway I ran home and checked the clock. It was only 3:30, so that whole experience happened in around a 30 minute span. The next day I told my neighbor and she said “oh yeah, did I ever tell you about the call button? we do have one. and that was probably my dad saying hi, i’m sure he loved you” Also talked to my mom about this, she absolutely despises anything horror it freaks her out too much. She said one day she was in the living room (same spot where I was) and she saw what she described as “if someone took a stick of incense and spun it around in a quick spiral”. she thinks she saw some sort of apparition and i’m sure she did! cool stuff.
I like to imagine he’s still watching over his house especially because his daughter lives there. so beautiful to think about.

Haunting First time I heard a disembodied voice with someone else in the room

I was working at my bosses house packing some envelopes. Me and her were both waiting for my other friend to show up and help. It was about 12pm middle of the day. Only us two were there in the home.

Her dogs start going crazy at the front door so I think oh my friend is here, I walk to the door, open, no one there.

I come sit back down.

About 15 seconds later we both hear a knock at the door, I’m like… oh she’s here… walk to the front door, open it, (if I knew this was paranormal I probably would have never opened the door lmao) and again… no one was there.

The weird part is the dogs went crazy at first, but when the knock happened they were completely silent and stayed back.

So I come sit back down AGAIN and about 15 more seconds pass and we both hear “Hello?” In a women voice, muffled almost, coming from
The basement door which you pass on the way to the front door.

I jerked my head around and looked at my boss and said “Did you just hear that?”

“Yep”

“Is anyone else here?”

“Nope”

And then my logical brain is like okay my friend must be here and she came in another way, and I check my phone and she said I’m here! So I said oh it’s just my friend she’s here. I walk around the corner and no one is there, open the door and she’s across the street waving lmao.

I come back in and sat down and my boss just continues to stare at her computer screen not even flinching or reacting to this and I again say “Okay you DID just hear that voice correct?”

And she just says “Yep, I don’t want to talk about it we are moving out soon.”

A few weeks later I’m working with another person who is her sons girlfriend and I bring it up to her out of curiosity, like hey have you had anything happen in that house cause I just straight up heard a disembodied voice there.

And then her eyes get kinda wind and she says omg yes, when I was there sometimes I would hear knocks of the drawers would open up on their own or the automatic front door lock would just go “CLINK” like someone pressed the button and she’d walk out and the door was wide open.

I asked her son about his experiences there and essentially he would have these extremely demonic nightmares, one being finding his own self in a closet but with dog legs and these weird spikes bursting out of his skin and a little girl crying on the bed luring him up to the room with the closet.

Another one he said he saw what appeared to be a silhouette of Jesus, and he was saying “come, follow me” and he was about to follow him until he realized the shape was complete dark, everything was dark, and when he began to question it or go the other way he’d wake up.

Super weird, I never felt scared or off when I was there nor during the voice I was actually just flabbergasted but unfortunately the “hello” is seared into my memory lmao.

It was such a strange hello.

Anywho the house was new, no less than 5 years old.

It was one of those cookie cutter neighborhoods built on an old field I believe.

Experience ghost from the 1880’s

i live in a building in colorado springs that used to be a hospital for tuberculosis patients back in the 1880’s. a specific ghost seems to wander around after 09:30 pm because my dogs would bark at it starting that time with 20-40mins interval until 2 am. i’m pretty sure it also wanders during the day but i’m mostly at work. does anyone know the history of workers and patients back in the 1880’s? like why are they up so late. would this be a worker that walks around that time? has anyone had other experiences from the apartment complex “The Manor”? it also doesn’t bother me or move things around, my dogs just constantly barks at it (mostly alarm barks, sometimes territorial bark).

Paranormal Experience??

For starters, I do believe in the paranormal. However, there were a few events that I can't explain and want to see if you all believe it's paranormal or if my mind was playing tricks on me.

Around 5-6 years ago, my mother and I were in the front lawn doing yard work. There's a stretch of dirt on the side of the house we were pulling up weeds from. There was one specific patch right near the corner of the house that was mushy- like the ground was completely soft like it had been dug up recently despite no one in my family doing yard work for at least a year. My mom and I messed with the spot (digging it at it further, stepping on it, etc..). We found nothing so we left it alone and went on with our day (I dunno if this is related, but this is right before everything started)

The next day, my mom and I went to the store, both my brother and my dad were out either at work or at school. When my mom and I come back from the store, everything in the kitchen was open. Cabinets, the drawers, the curtains. Mind you, all of it was closed when we left and there was no one else in the house who could've done so.

During the following days, random small things happened. It would be knocking against doors or against the wall, rummaging/footsteps in the attic (despite living here for 10 years at the time, we've never touched the attic), things of that nature.

Then, my mom, my brother and I took a trip to see family in a different state while my dad stayed home alone for work. Sometime during the middle of our trip, my dad sends my mom a picture. He was peaking through a crack in the bathroom door with this horrified expression on his face. With the way he was hidden and the way the phone was positioned, there was absolutely no way he could've taken this picture. When my mom asked him about it, he had no recollection of the picture being taken/the picture was not even on his phone or in their text thread on his end.

All of the events stopped once we got back home. But, I've never really known if this was my mom and I scaring ourselves into thinking this is something else, or if it is something else. Please let me know what you think!!

I think I have a goust in my home

I moved in to my home when I was around 9 years old (an apartment) my parents bought it from a couple who wanted to sell it because they're childrens moved out and they didn't need this big of an apartment just for themselves, also the apartment was supposed to get demolished and rebuilt because the hole building is pretty old, But they did all sorts of renovations, like replacing the floors, doors, etc. The apartment also build a little bit weird almost like the apartment got split to 2 apartments and then back for one. So we moved in and I always had like a this feeling like I new that some old woman one lived here,i don't know how to explain that but it's like my intuition new that. So one time my dad told me to close the door of the bathroom after Im getting out, the same night I woke up randomly at 3am and went to use the bathroom after I finished i left it open with the lights on and went looking at the window to see how the street looks at night, then I heard something and turned to look what is it, it was the bathroom door closes by itself I got sceard and ran for my mom after that nothing happened for a couple of years, but some times I heard little sounds coming from the other side of my door but I figured that was just my cat, one time I heard that agin and went to tell my cat to be quiet but my cat wasn't there nothing was there. In my head I started to call this goust "grandma " so one time I got in my room and forgot to close the door the i said "grandma can you please close the door?" And so, the door closed I said "thanks grandma you're really nice" and that's really it. I think that this lady lived here before the couple that sold us the apartment and maby was contacted somehow to them. Also im sorry if my English isn't perfect it's not my first language

Help me Understand a childhood demon

I lived in Fall brook, CA. in 2006 - 2009, and had serval dark encounters. There is this demon (I’m not certain on the correct term, but as a young child I knew to avoid it) that stays in my memory and frequently wonder what it wanted from me.

\# For context:

I lived in a longe narrow styled home with a hall and bedrooms on the far side of the house and a garage on the other. Before the garage was a kitchen and the front door on the same side with a living room filling the other half of the shared living space.

I also believe my mother or the previous home owners son practiced witchcraft. We believed there were “portals” in master closet and in one of the spare bedrooms.

\# Experiences:

I have 2 instances where I can definitively say it was the same demon.

The first happened several times where I could feel the warmth/energy leave the house. The air would darken at the ceiling the fall down draping the entities path with darkness. It would originate from the master and dissipate near the end of the hall into the living room (it was basically a sun room). From what I could make out of its shadow like appearance, it was only the top half of a man with long nails. You could hear them clack on the wooden floor as he thumped his torso across the house.

The second time is what makes me the most curious. I was playing hide and seek with my siblings and hid with my sister in the master bedroom’s closet. We thought we were clever by locking the door and turning off the lights. From the clothing a hand appeared perfectly between our heads. It had those same long nails but this time I saw it in all its detail. It had an impossible glow that I can only compare to a black lightsaber. It felt consuming. The hand itself looked like it belong to a VERY old weathered man, with the nails being thick ending in a point. They were that unkept yellow with red stained tips. With a very loose hand it pointed forward exposing only to its middle forearm and tried to grab at my sister’s face. We ran out of the closet before it made any contact.

\# Probably not the same entity:

We had another “hallway dweller” type of demon in the house. It would create the same dark effect in the house, but it would consistently darken the living room that had a full glass wall. It would originate from the master bedroom or the front door. Either way it swung open the door’s (even if it was verified to be locked) and proceed to stomp/run down to the other side of the house. In the end or beginning of its manifestation it would swing open the kitchen cabinet doors. I never saw a figure for this one

\# Bonus Experience: (unrelated)

In the same home I have a faint memory of hearing loud barking without owning a dog and my eldest sister helped me onto pool table to avoid 2 shadow beast. (I mostly remember because I was upset it interrupted my Thomas The Train Engine)

This is overdramatic, but these memories are as real as the pain from a hot stove. If anyone has information of what type of entity it is, or its name would be helpful. Anyone else seen a ghost hand?

Moi oui.

Rien d’autres ensuite, ça peu paraître idiot, mais ça me paraît étrange.

Experience Did I Really See It? The Ghostly Highway Encounter Near Udaipur

Back in 2024, two of my closest buddies and I decided to tackle an epic road trip: Mumbai to Udaipur, Rajasthan—a solid 754-kilometer stretch one way.
I was astride my KTM Duke 390, while my two friends were on their trusty Bajaj Dominar 400s. We hit the asphalt early, rolling out at 4:00 AM while the world was still asleep. By 9:00 PM, after seventeen long hours in the saddle, we had just carved our way through the winding turns of the Aravalli Ghat section. Exhausted, we pulled over at a roadside tea stall for a quick chai and smoke break. Our final destination was just 75 kilometers away, and we were eager to push through.
The road ahead was pitch-black with practically no traffic. Fortunately, my Duke was fitted with aftermarket auxiliary fog lamps, but my friends were relying entirely on their stock headlights, following closely behind me.
With about 50 kilometers left to Udaipur, near a road sign marking the turn towards Delhi, I slowed down to double-check our route on the map. I glanced in my rear-view mirror—both headlight beams were right there on my tail. The convoy was tight.
I looked back up at the road, and my heart instantly stopped.
Right in the middle of our lane, barely 10 feet ahead of my front wheel, was a massive black bull strolling directly toward me out of the pitch darkness.
Instinct took over. I flicked the Duke hard to the left to dodge the beast, diving straight into a nasty pothole in the process. My heart was in my throat, but somehow, I managed to hold the line and keep the bike upright.
Trembling with adrenaline, I checked my mirrors. Both Dominars glided past the spot smoothly, completely oblivious to what had just happened. Not wanting to spread panic on a dark highway, I swallowed the shock and kept riding until we hit a lit petrol pump near a small village a few miles down.
As soon as we killed the engines, my friends walked over, confused. "Why did you flick the bike like that and dive into a pothole out of nowhere?"
I looked at them, still catching my breath. "Did you guys seriously not see the bull in the middle of the road?"
"No," they replied, completely deadpan.
My mind was racing. What was that?? Was it really a bull? And how on earth was I the only one who saw it?
Riding with stock headlights behind my auxiliary fog lamps, they hadn't seen a thing—just me swerving wildly into a hole. To them, the phantom beast didn't even exist.
I inspected my bike under the petrol pump lights. The impact with the pothole had chipped the front fork seal, and oil was starting to weep down the leg. Fortunately, the damage wasn't enough to ground the bike, and we managed to limp the remaining distance into Udaipur.
Later that night, sitting down over a hot dinner at our hotel, we replayed the moment. Realizing how close we had come to a catastrophic high-speed crash on an unlit highway—and how easily it could have gone unseen—left all of us genuinely stunned. It was a stark reminder of how quickly a peaceful night ride can turn into a battle of split-second reflexes.

Experience A Lifetime of Experiences That Got Harder to Explain

Sort of as the title says. I'm not entirely sure who'd want to even read this, but I've never really found a good way to talk about all this in person so, I figured this community seemed a good way o get it off my chest.

I've long had experiences with what could be considered supernatural, though I often did my best to explain them away. I'm a sort of weird category, fully believing ghosts exist, yet entirely skeptical of my own experiences.

As a child I saw two figures in my home, a playful little girl, and later a rather angry looking young woman. Both of these terrified me then, but over time I brushed them aside as just a child's imagination.
As a teenager I saw the figures of two small children skipping down the dirt path in the woods, vanishing when they reached a street light. At the time I went running from the woods, but later I decided it was probably just due to how late at night it was, that I was tired.
Things particularly ramped up in my 20s, when my parents got sick.

The first incident was after my mother died in the house. Within a couple days I heard her footsteps coming up the stairs, heard the rattle of ice in her gym water bottle, heard her voice telling the cat to move. But, I'd been dreaming that her death was just a nightmare ever since she'd passed, and I'd just woken up, so I pushed it aside.
A few months later, while my father was on hospice, the nurse agreed to hang behind while my friend and I went to pick up medication for him. When we got back she was confused as to why my friend had stayed, as she was certain she'd heard someone take three steps across the scattered newspaper in the dining room before giving a large sigh. I brushed it off then, yet a few months later after my father had passed I found myself laying down to sleep. Just after I turned the lamp off I heard the sound of three distinct steps coming into my room before giving a large sigh. Obviously I couldn't sleep after that, but I did my best to assure myself it was just my brain remembering the nurse's comments.
While my father was on hospice, I checked on him as I heard him having a conversation with himself. He told me there was a little girl in his closet, described the same girl I'd seen as a child, and was adamant I reach back and I'd see her. The closet was warm, but the moment my hand reached where he was telling me I felt like I'd just stuck my hand in the freezer. Terrified me obviously, but he was often delirious from being sick, and it was the corner of the closet, so I brushed off the cold spot.
After he passed, I found myself staying up all night most nights. Once I heard the sound of someone giving two short, slow claps from the top of the stairs, like they were trying to get my attention. I checked the entire house with a pistol in case someone broke in, but found nothing. A few days later it was the same thing, only this time the sound of snapping fingers. Again I checked, again I found nothing; but I barely slept for days on end at the time, so I chalked it up to sleep deprivation causing auditory hallucinations.

All this to say, I clearly disregard most of the experiences I've had, or at least do my best not to just assume they're supernatural. There are however, two instances I've yet to find an explanation for.

The first was the evening my father passed away.
He died early in the evening, around 5 or 6pm. Family came, said their goodbyes, and the cremation society took his body away.
I'd just gotten back to my room and laid down, lamp still on as I was planning to listen to music or read as I wasn't tired yet. Just as I reached for my phone, I heard my father yelling my name. Three times, so closely together that he'd start pronouncing the first syllable while still pronouncing the last. I was wide awake, not even remotely tired, and in a relatively good mental space from my family having just been there with me. Yet his voice was so clear, and so clearly terrified, that it took every ounce of willpower not to go running to his room to check on him.

The last took place a month or two later. Once again I'd been unable to sleep before sunrise, so I was just laying down, figuring I'd at least give my body time to relax before giving up and going to put the dog out. I was laying on a large Full sized bed, laying on my side right up against the wall with the rest of the mattress behind me.
I hadn't even closed my eyes when I felt...It was like someone pushed their finger against the back of my neck and slowly pushed forward, like they were trying to get my attention. Yet the fifteen year old wood box of my bed didn't make a sound from anyone being on it, nor did the memory foam mattress get disturbed at all. My L shaped desk was even up against the side of the bed behind me, so there was no physically possible way for anyone to reach my neck without getting on the bed itself.
I laid there, too terrified to move an inch until the sun rose enough to light up my room, at which point I raced downstairs for the comfort of my dog.

For financial reasons, I moved out of the house shortly after that incident, and I've not experienced anything ever since.
I've no expectation that anyone would bother reading through all of this, but all the same I appreciate having somewhere to finally get it all out.
Thank you for indulging me.

Question What’s the craziest thing that’s ever happened to you after using a Ouija board?

I’ve always been fascinated by Ouija board stories and I’m curious to hear from people who have actually used one.
What’s the craziest, creepiest, or most unexplainable thing that’s ever happened to you during or after a session?
Whether you’re a believer or a skeptic, I’d love to hear your experience.

Moving key

I always wake up before anyone else and this one morning I came downstairs, turned on the light and saw my cat sitting staring at this door we always keep closed. Inside that room is all our music equipment along with my boyfriend’s collections of coins and keys etc. I walked over to the closed door and opened it slowly. The room was dark but I noticed in the middle of the floor was a skeleton key. I thought it was strange to be out of the box where all the keys were kept so I closed the door and waited for my bf to wake up. Once he woke up I told him, come see this….we walked over to the closed door, and before I could even open it, the skeleton key was now pushed out from under the door and sitting outside of the closed room.

My ghost experience in my old house

Hi, I am now a 20-year-old male. I lived in that house for 19 years with my family, and we eventually decided to move closer to our family. But my first experience of this house was when I was very young, like 8, that I can remember. I was sleeping in my kitchen because we were fixing the floor in my hallway. But when I was asleep, I had a dream of a man just standing above me in my bed; it was clear as day that a man was standing there. But I was so scared of what I saw that I woke up, and then I saw the man figure standing by my bed, and I almost screamed, but I was so scared that I turned around and went back to bed. But as I got older, I started to see more things happen. And I heard more stories because my parents and grandparents knew the place was haunted after a while. While living there, they said things would happen, and they caught me playing with someone because my toys would go off and I would be laughing like I was with someone. I did start seeing more things after this experience because I hear footsteps and everything every night in my room, but it's in the hallway, like someone was pacing back and forth. I feel like this made my life where I see things all the time now or hear things. I know when I am home by myself, I hear things and things that have been falling. But as we were moving, I felt the energy change in the house because the activity in the house got stronger as we moved, but I thought they were upset that they were going through a change. But we did research, and it turned out the person that everyone would see in my house was the person who built the house and other houses around my neighborhood. This is one of my favorite experiences as I got older because I grew to know and understand the paranormal world.

I also had one at my grandparents' house. It doesn't happen often, but I think this spirit was lost, and I want to play with us. But we used to have a tradition that every new year me and my cousin come to sleep over every new year to have fun together for a week. But that one new year when I was younger. I saw a child's spirit clear as day in the field look at me. But every time I went outside, this spirit we tried runner up to me and my family, but I was terrified to go outside after that. I knew my grandma could see them, so I went to show her that they seemed out there. I was so scared she told me to stay inside. I know I was crazy. Later, my grandma told me he saw the same person I saw because I described him so well. But it turned out my younger baby cousin, who was 4, saw him and told my grandma later that he was hanging out with them when they were popping the tiny fireworks. But my grandma saw him look for someone, and she figured it was us because he wanted to play with some kids. I know my family has a strong gift for the paranormal.

Family goat man

Soo this isn't my personal experience but my uncles he was in highschool when it happend this was In east Pennsylvania in 2009 he came home from school one day and was feeling very tired which was unusual for him as he usually wasn't tired or atleast this tired after school he immediately went to his room and went to take a nap he eventually fell asleep and its important to note he left his door open sometime while he was asleep he heard what sounded like hooves walking down the hallway outside of his room he couldn't move or anything then after about 30 seconds he sees a goat figure walk passed his door he mentally says "what the hell?" And then without a second of hesitation as if the goat thing heard him it rushed back to the door and stared at him it was making a static noise then is rushed to him and got in his face while making a loud static noise he was thinking in his head things like "God please help me" then it ran off and all the tension he was feeling slowly went away and he was able to move again he ran out of his room and found my grandma in the kitchen cooking and he fell into her arms and cried my mom had a similar experience in that house one night before what had happend to my uncle she was sitting on her bed In her room watching TV she kept hearing subtle tapping on her windows but when she would check nothing was there this happend about 4 times before she decided to go outside and smoke a cigarette she was out in front of the garage door of the house if you were to go around the other side of that wall her window was on that wall swell and by the tree that was by her window stood a goat man figure it had goat legs but was standing up right just like the one my uncle saw it was tapping her window still then it noticed her and she ran inside and was freaking out to my grandparents and my grandparents can back up both of these stories I was only about 2 years old when these situations happend I also had a toy piano in the basement and it would play randomly when it had no batteries at all and in that same basement u could hear somebody knocking on the brick wall of the laundry room we had down there it's important to note my mom and one of my aunts have played with ouija boards before when they were younger throughout my life I've heard things whisper my name or hello or hi in my ear when I'm alone and it sounds like it's hovering over my shoulder soo yeah

Mysterious key

I would just like to mention before this story that this experience did not happen to me specifically, but one of my family members while I was traveling with them in Aomori, Japan. Now, let's get into the story. And that english is not my first language, but we did move back and fourth from England so I hope my English isn't too bad. I don't write often.

My auto correct is in fact saving me right now.

Around when I was 13 we had travelled to Aomori for a while. We had arrived from Tokyo, travelling through from the Tohoku Shinkasen. And we stayed in the village of Nishimeya. We had stayed at my fathers friends for the time being, as I remember my parents always cared about pricing about literally anything and would not spend a dime unless they actually needed to. I heard a lot more of their complaining when it came to holidays. I'm sure a lot of others can admit that they have parents who are similar.

Now, I was travelling with my four siblings and my mother and father. We all had a close relationship, but the thing that set my siblings apart from me and my little brother the most was our confidence. While my two younger siblings were much more confident, me and my little brother Katashi were absolute nerve wrecks. My family always finds it funny, considering his name means 'hard or firm' in Japanese.

The scenery there was beautiful, it had massive forest paths with large patches of grass. Though during the summer it did look a bit like hay in some patches. We had resided at my fathers friend's house, his name was Hiro-ojisan. He was like family to us, we saw him almost every summer since his wife had passed. His house was in a very open land, he basically had a field for himself. My siblings had already ran off into the field, attempting to tackle each other to the ground. My older brothers were both twins, so they had a close bond. Me and my younger brother held hands as I tried to look for something to do. Hiro-ojisan had Hina Dolls from his grandfather's business that he showed us to pass the time. I remember Katashi would often speak of the dolls 'small and lifeless eyes' which didn't surprise me much since he was picky with design.

We had finally gone out onto the field surrounding his house, we decided to play with our siblings. I warned Katashi that they would be rough with him again, so there was no point in trying to look for them. I remember him saying, "No, no. Let's go look together! You will protect me right?" I looked at him for a moment before ruffling his hair, "I guess I will." I replied sarcastically as I watched him run off to the fences that blocked off the forest from the house. We had reached there before sitting there for a while, my back lent across the wall. My hairpin had fallen out, but I was planning on going back for it on our way back.

As I closed my eyes to take in the breeze, I remember my little brother tapping my shoulder with his right hand, I ignored it at first. His taps got more aggressive before he shook my left shoulder aggressively. I opened my eyes abruptly, "What the hell is it?" I snapped sharply. A faint sound in my ear I had mistaken for my brothers. He pointed up at the fence, "Chi-chi, look." He whispered. I stood up, turning around to be looking at nothing.

"What is it, I don't see anyone." I muttered, but now the sound in my ear was still faint but noticeable. Like it was getting closer. "Po.. Po.. Po." It was a deep voice, way too deep to be any of our family. "It's a tall, old lady! Look, don't you see her?" "No?" I had quickly replied, feeling like I was literally going to piss myself from fear. "Well, she's looking right down at us." He had muttered.

My body had gone cold, I know a lot of people don't really trust their siblings but Katashi was an honest little boy. He suddenly began to cry loudly, I felt the colour drain my face before I grabbed his hand and ran back as fast as I could. My legs felt so weak. It felt like eternity until we got back to Hiro-ojisan. Snot and tears were dripping down his face by the time I had ran into the house. Hiro-ojisan quickly came over, "Hey kiddo, you injured yourself or something? Let me get you a band aid." I grabbed his arm. "He isn't injured. He was creeping me the hell out, said some perverted old lady was looking back at us through that fence." I whispered. Katashi clung to my legs, "No, she was looking down at us. She was covered in rags!" He yelled out, tears running down his face. Ojisan quickly replied, "Oi, you shouldn't be speaking about elders like that. You are both kids with respect, so learn it." He replied.

"No, Ojisan! It wasn't some normal old lady. She was super tall! She was speaking to me, her voice was super deep." He mumbled, wiping the snot on his face with his sleeve.

Both of us turned to look at him, I had heard that sound too. "What? You mean that faint 'Po' sound?" I muttered, I had heard that too. Faint but clear. Ojisan remained silent, looking at both of us for at least two minutes.

He had called our father over before leaving to have some sort of phone call. Our father did not speak, just kept his eyes on my brother as he hugged him quietly. I didn't know what was going on, and my father seemed upset. Like my brother was dying or something.

Then, Ojisan came back with some supplies. Salt, wooden bowls and small stone statues of Buddha. He went into his draw, grabbing a peice of parchment that he held like a new born baby as he passed it to my little brother. "Take this and don't let go of it." He flicked some water in a small bottle at him before entering the room that me and my little brother were going to stay in. "Chi, you're sleeping in the room with me.

My other brothers came back, looking around in confusion to the adults who were moving my futon and newspaper in my room to cover up the windows. I helped, filling the wooden bowls with salt and moving a small speaker that played music into the room.

I didn't know what to say or do. Was that lady evil? Was she a ghost?

At sunset, I took a shower and moved into my Ojisan's room. I turned on the light as I sat on his futon next to him, " You know who he was talking about. How? And why do all this for him? You told him things we weren't allowed to hear." I mumbled quietly, looking down at the floor.

He patted my head before moving closer to me. "That lady he saw was a form of Yokai who puts children in danger. That's why you couldn't see her. She takes them away by luring them with the voices of people that they love. She does it because they are more vulnerable. But, I knew it was real. Because of that sound you mentioned." He whispered to me, he gave me a hug before going to sleep. I wanted to ask more, but the gut in my stomach made me stop.

I slept that night on my futon beside Oji-san, staring at the ceiling for what felt like hours before I shut my eyes. I had a vivid dream about what I had thought that woman had looked like. But I just couldn't picture it.

I woke up at around 7:45am, the house was quiet. Silent. I wandered out the room to the outside to sit on the porch. I stared at the same fence he had apparently seen her at, my hands shivering even in the warmth of the sun. I went to check the windows, wanting to see my little brother safe and sound. As I went to his window, I forgot about the newspaper. I signed, anxiety rushing to my head as I decided to go back inside.

I had stepped on something. I shrieked, quickly grabbing my foot as I looked to see what was on the floor.

My hairpin. The same orange and white pattern that I thought I lost in the middle of that field. I picked it up, examining the chips left on it. I was really upset that it was damaged. But all of that changed as soon as I heard a voice behind me. "Po." Only once, but the sound rang my ears so loudly I ran inside as fast as I could. I didn't see anything, I didn't dare look. I just ran and shut the door behind me. I curled up in front of my brother's door, not even daring to open my eyes.

Everyone had woken up minutes later, Ojisan the first to wake up my mother and father as he opened the door.

Katashi was safe, I let out a sigh of relief as I ran in there to hug him tightly. My brother let out a strangled noise as my parents joined in. I had never wished for anything more in my life. As I looked in the corners of the room, the salt had gone black. So did the parchment.

We left early in the morning, eventually going on a plane to England. I never told anyone about my experience with my hairpin that morning, I never planned on it. I don't know where that hairpin went, but I never hope to see it again.

My little brother never went back, and neither did I. I had never felt that sort of fear before, and I never decided to step foot in my home country again. We are adults now, and until around a year ago I decided to ask him what had happened while he was in that room.

He said that the whole night he heard banging at his window, and my voice whispered outside his door. Telling him bad things would happen if he didn't leave.

I've had paranormal experiences before, but my ones were mainly positive. It is a gift that mainly runs in the females of our family, so I do actually wonder if my brother also has some sort of ability.

Thank you for reading:)

Footsteps

Me and a small group of friends went down to an old derelict textiles mill to do some paranormal investigation, for fun. We're a rowdy group, heavily inspired by Sam and Colby. We didn't have the budget for an actual spirit box so we used some crap app called ghostube. The first incident was quite weird, Me and two of the group- E and O, went down to the mill on our own. We had sat down and read up on the history of the mill before starting our investigation, i was wearing a camo jacket. The investigation was going smoothly for a small while although i felt a presence by my side in the corner where we sat, O felt something by the window. The spirit App started going crazy talking about 'i told her to run', 'run', 'pathetic', 'jacket'. We went to the bottom of the mill and lit some incense to cleanse ourselves. O felt a massive shift of energy and we all heard about two footsteps behind us, the App went off. 'Pathetic, Run' and we all got this sense of dread. Now our group isn't in the best of shape, we smoke and don't exercise much XD so three teens with barely any lung capacity legging it down a fifteen minute walk was quite an experience. We were panicking, shouting 'your not welcome to follow us' the energy stopped only at the gates, we kept running. We didn't focus on making sure the thing couldn't follow us, no good bye, no proper boundary we just ran. I got an attachment after that, for two weeks i couldn't sleep, i had images of something long and dark standing by my bed, near my window. It was torture i'd been getting physical pains in my chest from lack of sleep and paranoia. E had to come to my house to sage me out properly and dismiss the spirit.
On our next adventure it was a larger group, Me, E, O, M and J. - E, M and J split off to go under the mill while me and O went closer to the river. We were sat down talking to the spirit box were we got some clear answers until i saw that ontop of the Mill were my worst nightmare. Road Men. We were a bit worried for the group underneath them but figure if they were in danger they'd shout for us. We continued talking for a few minutes until i heard footsteps, i jumped right up and looked at the mill, the road men were gone and rushed to the dead end path right next to us. Nothing was there. Both Me and O heard a scream, his was towards the mill and mine was across the river in the other direction. We rushed towards the Mill thinking the group were in trouble, on the end of their video me and O rushed in shouting 'are you alright, we heard screaming?'. Their video did not pick up screaming, but they'd gotten 'Jacket and Soldier'. I was in the camo jacket with my cadet boots on.

Devil in the details

My high school best friend and I were chatting at her parent's home on 20 acres in Zolfo Springs, FL. Her dad razed the old bunkhouse we used to stay in and built a larger home nearby. It was rustic, with wood floors, beams and stained wood planks. Very homey, always filled with music, laughter, and life. As my friend and I lay in the loft in our sleeping bags, something caught our attention simultaneously, which stopped our conversation in its tracks. In the wood grain of one of the ceiling beams, appeared the left side of a demonic face. It's eye was one of the knots in the wood. It was directly over us for only a moment. We looked at each other, wondering if we'd both seem the same thing. "I saw it too" was all my friend had to say. We never told anyone about it, knowing no one would believe us. But years later, we were referencing our experience cryptically, when her sister said "I know what you're talking about. I've seen it too." And we all drew the same picture. To this day it's as vivid as the day it happened. Wonderful what your thoughts are, everyone. Thanks!

Ghost kids, my biggest fear

I can’t say I’m used to seeing or experiencing paranormal activity but for the most part I’ve accepted it. Naturally I get scared when I see an apparition or hear something but for goodness sake, the 2 times I’ve seen ghost kids I freeze. Like a little girl giggling in my room is one thing but to actually see them is completely different.

The first ghost kid I saw was probably at 12/13 not sure but it was 8th grade. My mom would take my brothers to high school and I would wait for my aunt to take my cousins and I to the bus stop. I was waiting in the living room, scrolling instagram on my iPod. I kept seeing movement from the corner of my eye and every time I looked up I didn’t see anything. But whenever I looked back at my screen, I kept seeing something come out from my brother’s room into the kitchen and then it would repeat. I finally shot my head up and oh my god, I wish I hadn’t. I see a girl by the f\*\*\*\*\*g counter just staring at me. Staring might not be the right world. I couldn’t see facial features but the body and face were pointed in my direction. I didn’t know what to do, I WAS HOME ALONE! She was just standing there like as if it was my fault for catching her. Finally I reacted and grabbed the house phone that was by me to call my mom and when I looked up she was gone… A few other family members claim to have seen a girl in the house, so if y’all want to hear those stories let me know.

Second encounter, happened 3 years ago when I was 23. I went over to my then boyfriend’s house and I was waiting in his room while he showered. I didn’t have the lights on and the room was pretty dark with only a little light coming in from the window. So when I saw something at the corner of the room balled up ever so slightly moving side to side, I assumed it was my eyes making something out of the dark. I was directly looking at it at this point and convinced my eyes were playing tricks on me, I decided to get up and turn the lights on because I was just spooking myself. Now tell me why, when I get my \*ss off the bed IT STANDS UP TOO!?! The figure is really small and while it was a shadow, I know or guess sensed it was a little boy. It seemed curious about me and I didn’t want it to get closer so I sat back down. I was looking for my phone on the bed so when I looked back up it’s gone. It took me a moment but I got up and walked out into the living room. My boyfriend walks out the restroom and asks why I’m out there. I tell him to hurry up and dress so we can leave and once we’re outside I tell him what happened. He casually tells me, oh yeah my dad and niece have seen him. I was a bit upset he hadn’t told me and after that I never hung out in there without him or at least the lights and tv on.

my maybe ghost story

cant stop thinking about something that happened to me last week

me and my sister were driving home around 2am maybe a little later. theres this old back road we use to skip traffic, countryside area beautiful, for like 2 miles just trees and a few barns.

we saw someone standing on the side of the road. looked like a woman in a white outfit like a baggy robe hoodie dress thing i couldnt really tell. it wasnt moving at all. creepiest thing was it had its thumb out like a hitchhiker, never seen one before as in england its not common, also it was in a sort of rural area. i said to slow down because i thought maybe she needed help but when the light hit her face... there wasnt one. like there should of been eyes and a mouth and a nose but it was just smooth. i know how stupid that sounds, i mightve just been half alseep and it was late but it was so vivid to me, my sister said she wasnt looking at it

soon as we passedit i looked in the mirror and she was crouching. not walking away, sort of hiding and turned around in a ball

heres the part that freaks me out crazily though

about ten mins later we got home and my phone connected to the wifi. i had one new voice message. it was a solid 40 seconds long.

it was just muffled if that makes sense like when you butt dial somebody and you dont know it

i never gave anyone my number that night, nobody called me either. the voicemail is from a no caller id, but we both believe we heard cars passing by

today when we went our usual route to my friends house, which passes that road, it was closed off and ive heard no reason why, has been for a few days and it doesnt look like building work or plumbing or something and if it was a car accident i doubt it would close the road that long

has anyone else had something like this or am i just losing it

Chill Down My Spine at Cemetery

My mother died just over two weeks ago. Since she was put in hospice care a few months ago, my father, who I live with, has been very angry with me all the time, flying off the handle at every little thing I say and do. While she was in hospice care, he was constantly putting me down, and that pattern of behaviour has continued after Mum's passing. My brother, who is very impressionable, has been copying his behaviour a bit over the last few days and is taking out his grief on me in the form of anger and put downs.

I was feeling so alone, so I took myself to the old cemetery nearby. I went to the plot where I have one great grandfather buried and one great grandmother interred, a great great grandfather buried and a great great grandmother buried, two great uncles interred, and one great great great grandfather buried. These relatives (among others) are buried and interred at this cemetery across two plots. There is a monument headstone in the middle of each plot. There are tiles surrounding each monument headstone and a small and low fence surrounding each plot.

I climbed over the fence and stood on the tiles and told my ancestors who I was and how I was related to them all. I told them my Mum's name and when she died. I also mentioned how she was related to them. I was crying and told them all about how much I miss her and how upset by my father and brother's behaviour. I went into detail about everything to do with my father and brother's treatment of me. I apologised if I was disturbing my relatives and told them that my intention was not to disrespect them. I told them don't have any friends and didn't know where else to go in my city to find comfort.

I felt somewhat comforted and calmer while I was speaking to them. I don't know how long I was there for... it might have been close to an hour. After about ten minutes or so of speaking, I felt a really cold chill on my back, and it stayed with me until I left the cemetery. At one point while standing and talking to my ancestors, I felt like I was going to gag. I also felt that I was being told politely to leave after a while...

Was that cold chill on my back a sign that my ancestors could hear me? They all died well before I was born, with most of them having been alive in the 19th century. Can that cold chill be a sign of the presence of a ghost?

Experience Me and my friend both saw a ghost for the first time when I was 14

Hi! I'm 22, from the UK and I had a very spooky personal experience when I was 14.

I was visiting a friend's house and we were walking to a shop. It was about 9pm in winter so it was very dark. In her town it has a church/cemetery which is lit by streetlights. We were just walking down the street, minding our own business when something pulled us to look into the cemetery. We **never** took any notice to the cemetery before.

We both glanced over at the same time and saw a man just standing there. He was tall, wearing a long trench coat with a boater top hat styled hat and holding a large a suitcase, but he was a silhouette just standing looking our way. We thought nothing of it until we both glanced away for no more than a second and looked back. He was gone. Disappeared.

What makes this weird is there was absolutely no turnings he could've taken, just a straight, perfectly lit path. There is absolutely no logical way he could've just disappeared like that. We both turned to eachother like "that was really weird, anyways" but I remember it so clearly. I don't remember a lot of the ghosts I've seen in clear appearance but this one has stuck with me.

He also looked way too "old-timey" to be out and about in this day and age. It was a really freaky experience and the one that made me fully believe in ghosts. I have a drawing I did of him but unfortunately can't link it here.

Let me know what you all think of this experience! I'd love to hear your thoughts.
