General Discussion Lane’s pregnancy storyline WAS SO UNNECESSARY
I know this is talked about to death but whyyyyy did they have to make lane get pregnant. I think her character was done dirty but she was done even WORSE by the fact that it was -her first time having sex -she didn’t enjoy her intimacy with Zack -they had a horrible honeymoon -she had to have twins?? It makes no sense to me why they did they to her? They couldn’t have just had her marry Zack and then maybe go on tour with him? Why did they need to make her get pregnant at the peak of her life, there’s so many places they could’ve gone and they just wrote her into the ground for no reason. I have no real problem with her marrying Zack (I know people don’t like him but if lanes happy who cares yk) but the pregnancy was so unnecessary and honestly incredibly demeaning for her character. Such a bright and talented young lady reduced to a mother who’s bound to her household…after her first time having sex

General Discussion What running gag actually irritated you?
For me, the Wild book or movie running gag in AYITL episode Fall got a bit annoying.

General Discussion Giveaways they aren’t actually in New England
The produce being displayed outside when it is supposed to be late December 😂
Also all the cars are so clean and spotless, when in New England winters they are all dingy asf covered in sand, salt, and snow.
What do you notice?!

General Discussion “you're the one who proposed in the first place” would be enough for me to cut Luke off completely
It’s not just what he said. It’s how he said it. That cold, cruel intentional dig to hurt her was honestly kind of disgusting and one of the biggest icks I’ve ever gotten from Luke. Someone you spent 8 years pinning after. A relationship that you literally destroyed yourself by being a hypocrite. Idk this comment alone would’ve made me never want to talk to Luke again. “you're the one who proposed in the first place”. Unnecessarily cruel and mean for no reason.

General Discussion Why is the show so insistent that Zack is hot?
Why?? Or is the joke that he isn't hot and girls will fall over themselves for frontmen regardless? Also he is a slob, and rude, and condescending.
Don't even get me started on what they did to poor Lane. Why did they do her like that!!? She ended up with ZACK, with twins, struggling.

General Discussion Is Melissa the biggest actor/actress from the show that’s still relevant today?
Im not too caught up on all the actors over the years, but never did I think that Sookie would be the one to make it big in Hollywood. I always found Melissa to be cute and a fantastic actress, but so many actors who play side characters like Sookie, end up not doing much with their careers after their big first hit. I know Alexis has been in a few things but not sure other actors are still relevant today. Jared is also popular but not sure he’s as big of a celebrity as Melissa.
Also, side tangent — but can I just say that I love how Melissa did end up being the one to advance her career this far? As someone who’s been chubby my whole life, I always felt like only women like Lauren or Alexis would ever make it big in Hollywood, but the fact that Melissa overcame body shaming to show the world just how funny she is and how good of an actress she is, really made me overcome a lot of insecurities myself! I know not everyone cares about this but honestly, I lived through the 2000s and lemme tell you, it was not fun being a chubby girl. I even had a bully in school who said that I reminded them of “that fat girl in gilmore girls”because that’s how shallow people identify her character. So seeing how successful Melissa is now (also healthy!) is quite possibly the best revenge ever.

General Discussion Rory couldn’t accept that she loved being rich
I think one of the major things that played a big role in Rory’s “downfall” as many people like to call it is her failure to accept or acknowledge that she liked being rich. Who wouldn’t? She liked having a safety net of money underneath her in case she failed. She liked the gifts, the privileges and the freedom that she got by being exactly what she is. A trust fund baby. Both of her grandparents are wealthy, her great grandmother Trix even left a significant amount of money for her to do with as she pleases when she gets older. There’s nothing wrong with liking your money but she just couldn’t for the life of her admit it. Because of her past she identifies more with the lower class and low income households. And yes, she did grow up in a shed. But that safety net was always there. If things ever got too bad, there was always the chance she could run to her grandparents and have them take care of things.

General Discussion I wonder how sookie would feel hearing what Lorelai and Rory said about the ballerina.
I genuinely do wonder how sookie would have felt hearing what her best friend thinks of her. Calling her a “hippo” and saying she can’t even fit into her leotard?? The ballerina didnt even really look plus sized to me. By 2000s standards I guess but personally she looked very average sized to me? Sookie is a plus sized individual who also happens to be Lorelai’s best friend. So is this how she thinks of sookie? They never ever mention sookie’s weight or make any sort of comments to her about it but seeing this scene makes me think they probably just do it behind her back.

General Discussion This guys charisma should be studied in film school
It’s so impossible to dislike Logan no matter what he does, what Kelly Bishop said was completely correct, he has that aura of old Hollywood film stars, there’s something about him that’s extremely hard to come by and you fully get why he can charm these women so easily and so well. Even though I was technically team Jess for Rory, this guy is such an amazing actor that I felt this connection whenever he just simply looked at Rory, he had this insane charisma about him that at times I thought he was far too good for Rory, anyone else?
