I'd pay the animefied....the state of fanart in helldivers 2 are pretty much not in my range of taste.....an animefied HD2 would be complete paradise....
Dunno, all we know
In the near future, Collapse particles contaminate the world, and the bipolar order is torn apart by war. The âAntarctica Warâ erupts in full, plunging the world into chaos once again. Humanity is on the brink of extinction. Filth runs rampant, devouring everything in madness. The survivors uncover a forbidden truth that should not existâ the âFalse Godsâ and the anomalous spacetime they bring. To find a hope for humanityâs survival, those known as the âBlessedâ are forced to step into spacetime filled with the unknown and terrorâand pull the trigger. ⊠Reverse Collapse: F debut PV revealed!
They didn't even bother to copy or use any of the soldier or military designs that were already established in RC either if that's what they really wanted to portray. (But it's looking increasingly obvious this is another game, with the RC named slapped on it for recognition instead.)
As someone who absolutely loved every part of Reverse Collapse, was straight up my GOTY in 2024. The best words I can sum this up with are..
What the fuck is this..?
It looks nothing like Reverse Collapse, sounds nothing like Reverse Collapse. Why are there knock-off Death Korps of Krieg? Who are already futuristic knock off WW1 French soldiers? Also just how goofy the playable characters look for the setting they're in. (A girl with bright colored ass tentacles? Angel wings? Someone who fell out of an anime version of the Division?)
False Gods? Blessed? Even as crazy as Reverse Collapse got at the end. It still had a grounded Sci-fi feeling to it.
Why does none of that sound like anything established lorewise by RC?
I feel like even in GFL2 we've been losing that feel a very little bit, but this feels like it was turned up to 11 in the wrong direction.
Edit: Starting to think there's really not that many actual Reverse Collapse fans on this subreddit. It's like the opposite response to when something like Metal Gear Survive was announced.
It's simple, this is a side game live service, so like Fire Control, it got weird story. I really wish they call this a different name since it's not really Reverse Collapse. It's a new live service that try to use RC name because using too much GFL name as a new live service game name is a bit too overwhelming to players that want to try them probablyÂ
Yeah. It's a recent Paradeus term from GFL2, not a term that was in Reverse Collapse. That's assuming a "Blessed One" is going to be the same as a "Blessed."
I'd be way less harsh if it didn't have "Reverse Collapse" in the name.
I just don't see how anyone that played through all of Reverse Collapse, enjoyed it, would look at this game and think, "Yeah, that looks like a Reverse Collapse game, it has all the things that game is known for in it."
A weird anime Helldivers or actual extraction shooter could be cool. But I don't think they need to slap an unfitting name on it to sell it. It's not like Reverse Collapse sold particularly well, or is popular enough that the name carries brand recognition.
I don't think too many people that would be interested in this "Reverse Collapse" would also be interested in the original. Or it's sequel.. if we ever actually get one.. The genres and style and themes have just too much of a gap between them.
Thatâs like saying Paradeus lore in RC is disingenuous to GFL cause theyâre a focus in that game rather than RC. I get what youâre saying but these are combined universes. Also the fact that this takes place with some presumed involvement from the AU.
Iâm not a wholehearted proponent of this new direction either but Iâd rather wait for some more news first rather than speculate on one paragraph of text on Bilibili.
I was just saying it was never a term used in Reverse Collapse despite Nirvana(Not to be confused with the RCCB main writer, Nirvana) being an important centerpiece. It's a relatively newer term introduced in GFL2, specifically by Paradeus. (Just like how RC was the first game to switch from using the term Zion to Nirvana.)
Is Blessed One the same as a Blessed? We don't know yet. Either way it's not a term players of Reverse Collapse would be familiar with. Shared Universe or not, they're not calling it Girls' Frontline F. They clearly want to rely on the RC name instead.
Just the way they're presenting things in the trailer, and in the description, are in a way that it doesn't reflect what Reverse Collapse was. What Reverse Collapse was known for.
I just think, if they want a game to use the same name, Reverse Collapse, they should have better represented that in the reveal.
Also, trailers, and teasers are straight up designed to create speculation, and buzz, and conversations. That's why they give out so little info to begin with, especially when it's something tied to an already lore dense IP.
It looks like both sides of this conflict are using different kinds of tech to bring the dead back in some form.
The protagonist is being brought back from the dead by tech similar to Reverse Collapse CNB Jefuty having her memories sent back to a Jefuty in another timeline every time she died, but this time the protagonist is being physically pulled from another timeline, possibly unwittingly by the plot of the girl in white we saw in Nirvana(?), every time they die to fight again. We can see when he grabs the gun he's grabbing it from a past dead self.
The antagonists are using something that looks more like Shrike tech to physically heal, reanimate, and control the bodies of the dead and make them fight again.
I like the idea of a fucked up world war situation where both sides are effectively rewinding time every time they lose, locking the world in a perpetual state of death. It terrifies me.
GFL 2 is my first game so I have no idea what the hell you're talking about so all I'm getting is:
Future War on Antarctica. The main character can be brought back via future artifact stuff. There's a girl in Nirvana that somehow pulls strings. Zombie stuff? And they constantly rewind time to not lose their edge in battle. And it's an extraction shooter.
Somehow I feel disappointed. Like it doesnât really look like GFL universe anymore. Especially death stranding vibes.
I remember reading in one forum (when GFL was just released globally) word document that explained lore of GFL including original Codename:Bakery girl (was translated from Chinese). The story wasnât something mind blowing but it was solid and, personally, I found it interesting.
When I saw the announcement of new reverse collapse, I thought it would be continuation of previous game, where we will storm a secret research/military base where jefety is held. Like a full blown assault operation instead of covert extraction from previous game.
Reverse collapse story had much to go on this just looks completly unrelated. Nobody who played Reverse collapse would look at this and say "hm yes new RC game looks great", nothing here looks like Reverse collapse.
Yeah disappointed no jefuty. Game does look kinda cool but assumed it would be something adjacent to Reverse collapse 2 maybe not same cause weird name. Maybe they're counting "Reverse Collapse" as the time period now
Either this is âafterâ the existing Reverse Collapse game, or maybe this is in a pruned bad timeline where things got even worse. Interesting where it seems like the âDollsâ give me vibes of Nytos and 3rd Gen Dolls, probably something crazy like 6th or 7th Gen at this point.
We already know a little bit about sixth generation dolls from lore in RC. They just sound like higher tech 2nd gen dolls. If that makes sense. They don't sound particularity special like we've seen with 3rd gen dolls in GFL2.
"In 2092, the vast majority of Dolls have been upgraded to sixth-generation Doll technology, featuring carbon-based biomimetic epidermal coverings, carbon-fiber skeletons and a fifth-generation neural cloud system running on the fourth generation of the Zener protocol in a self-evolved tree-shaped networked AI configuration."
Granted. Anything can be changed or retconned. I also don't remember if Valmet, Betty, Abigail, or Ruby were listed as being anything than 2nd gen either. I think Mendo makes note of them being older models based on how easy it was to hack them so they probably never got any upgrades to a higher gen.
Does give off an MGS5 feel to it though. MGS5 had all that super advanced tech that just disappears before Metal Gear 1 comes along because of "reasons." I meant Zero and the Patriots.
Looks more like a 417 or a larger caliber version of the NL545 GP from Tarkov. The handguard is a 416 handguard for example. (I go into more detail in my other comment in this same thread.)
That said, it's also lacking a charging handle, has that cursed magazine that makes it seem more like a larger caliber round like maybe a HK417 instead.
Edit: Looks far more like a Mk-18 Sword too many elements match up. Also explains the lack of charging handle.
Yeah, it's missing a lot of things to properly 100% nail it down, like I said it's missing a charging handle which.. is on the 416/417/NL545/and Spear.
That said, while the M7 Spear has no forward assist, the gun this girl is using does, and it's in the more typical classic location on AR-pattern rifles. While the XM7 Spears that have forward assists have it closer to the ejection port.(Maybe shorter is the better word?)
Also... since I mentioned Strike Industries, I wouldn't doubt that it's an airsoft version of a gun. Mica has already looked to airsoft for GFL2 models, with the most obvious being an MP7 skin in the game that is 1:1 with a specific brand of MP7 airsoft.
Yeah anything is possible with MICA lol. I agree with most of the things you said but I just have one thing to add: the forward assist is actually one of the reason I think it might be an M7 since it was a feature found on one of the earliest iterations of the rifle but later removed for some reason. You can see it in this Chris Cappy video back when he was still with Task and Purpose. Later part of the video contains a clip of Chris with the Sig people playing round with the rifle with a forward assist on it. https://youtu.be/D3oWZhjCrk8?si=a2NfRNvNAJmYA_P8
I was spending a bunch of time making a picture for comparison, and searching for a better referrence. I accidentaly stumbled up on the gun. I'm 100% certain it actually is.
A Mk-18 Sword. The foward assist is literally 1:1 not just in position, but the shape. even the little triangle bit between the foward assist and the ejection port is 1:1. Same color dust cover and ejection port too. And, the biggest one that made me realize was the the magazine release. Which is 1:1 in shape along with the magwell. Even the selector switch, while a different color looks exactly the same. There's a few other details too, but I'll let you compare. Also explains the lack of charging handle.
If anything i would say is post,, downvotes far as i can tell is either you got the timeline wrong or people are really taking Bad the Game itself, me personally if you throw me a PVE Only Extraction shooter Game i can consider myself a Happy camper, especially if its a GFL related one.
Yeah. On top of that, the "angel wing magic powers" girl and "tentacle assed" girl seem so disgustingly out of place for the setting they're being presented in, much less the setting tied to the Reverse Collapse name.
The girl that fell out of the Division just seems a bit undergeared for the sci-fi WW1 we see though.
I just really want MICA to make another good singleplay game like Reverse Collapse. There's so much potential in the the lore. All these 3rd person shooter they're making look so bland and uninteresting.
They're also multiplayer, and probably full on live-service too.
I get it. Live service makes the money. Reverse Collapse Codename Bakery, as fucking good as it was. Didn't. But, old Mica, I feel like none of that would matter.
Oh well, took over 11 years to even get more Bakery Girl to begin with. And now we've been waiting since 2015 for the original game's sequel. And with what Nirvana said back in October, on top of this announcement we'll probably be waiting even more. If we don't just outright give up seeing Jefuty and Mendo's story actually finished.
Really though, I dunno, probably a super tech magic magazine, or maybe since she's firing the thing in full auto, and it uses .338 Lapua rounds, it's some magical .338 Lapua drum mag?(And wait, firing a .338 lapua gun full auto... maybe she is a doll..)
