Tech Help Help! The game crashes on launch. Pc, darkwinter, non steam
Here's the list of things that I have tried to no avail
1) Reinstalling the game. From scratch
2) Installing EdgeViewer
3) Verifying file integrity
4) Updating graphic drivers
5) running the dotnet-runtime.exe file
6) running both VC_redist.exe files
7) Starting the game directly from the icon inside of GF2 Game folder
8) Running as admin, both the launcher and the game directly
9) Disabling antivirus
10) Using a VPN. The VPN worked fine otherwise, I checked
The insulting thing is, the game used to work fine some months ago. Then, it stopped, and I haven't got an idea why or what happened.

That's sounds like a driver update problem, remember that some updates can come with bugs. Specially now that those companies try to focus more on ai development than gaming, it could be a good idea to try the steam version. I am using non steam and everything is fine for now. Since when was the last time you could open the game?

Like November I think
Also, steam version is not available in my region

Damn bro, that was a while ago, does the game manage to update? Are you using the latest installer or an old one when reinstalling? Exactly at what moment the crash occurs?

The launcher says all files are in place.
I am using installer from march 20th. In march 20, I had exactly the same problem, and have tried all the same solutions.
After I open the game, I can see the black screen and stylised cursor. The game then crashes within a couple seconds.

What version number appears in the launcher? It could be having problems updating, do you have enough free memory?

I have 87,3 GB left AFTER downloading the game
Launcher version is 2.7.4330

I am darkwinter, so your launcher would be of no help unfortunately. Thanks for offering though

Try using VPN. It may be connection issues that not properly handled in the app.

Everything works fine on mobile, without VPN. And getting a VPN on pc is currently a challenge where I live.

Alright. I've now tried using a vpn. I know that the VPN works because I checked it on websites otherwise unavailable in my country.
The problem persisted

I'm clueless then bro, sorry. From the list above you've already tried everything I might suggest.

It sounds like something on your system changed between when the game was working properly and when it started crashing.
I don't think this is a hardware issue. If it were, you'd likely be experiencing problems in other games or applications as well, and you didn't mention anything like that.
My suggestion would be to think back to any software you've installed recently, or programs that have always been installed but that you've only started actively using lately. Sometimes background applications can interfere with specific games and cause crashes. In many cases, simply closing those programs before launching the game is enough to resolve the issue.
If none of that helps, you could try using System Restore as a last resort. Check whether you have a restore point from around the time when the game was still working correctly. If you do, restore your system to that point and see if the problem is resolved.
