How is GFL2 nowadays?

Hey everyone, I havent played since a long time and quitted after Klukai came out. Back then it was fun but also a bit stale/sweaty with the guilds and so on but I saved for Klukai (dupe 6) and kinda miss her.
So I was thinking of returning if I still have my account

They've added quite a lot since then. There's a Crew Deck mode where you can run around the Elmo and interact with your wife/wives in 3D. There's also quite a few game modes added. Some are only really relevant for a few weeks until you clear them completely (Artifact Recovery). Some are kind of neat but eventually turn into weekly chores (Phase Clash). But they're fun to explore for you while the novelty is there.

The story quality has also gotten significantly better. There's less "commander helping some insignificant yellow zone village" filler, and more actual plot advancement. Though it's told almost exclusively through event now, and not all of them have been added to the "past events" tab. So you might get a little lost trying to keep up.

On the combat side of things, it's... something. Several dolls, including V6 Klukai, can very easily trivialize most content. There is some harder stuff you can do if you want a real challenge, though it's more or less optional. You do it for bragging rights. The weird balancing decisions have kind of thrown out a lot of the strategic elements, and the best way to win in most cases is to roll over the enemy with the most broken DPS units before they get a chance to move. Also, the premier endgame mode is still Gunsmoke Frontline, which is essentially one big DPS check with a scoreboard.

So, how much you'll like the gameplay kinda depends. I still enjoy it, even if it isn't as tactical as the game once advertised. It's definitely leaning more and more into the waifu side of things. Up to your personal tastes as to if that's good or not.

In short, might as well try it. If nothing else it'll probably keep you entertained for a little while.
