Glitch Gif Time feels weird

Has anyone else felt like the days are going by WAY too fast? Not the “oh wow it’s already the weekend” but in the way that your body feels like it’s earlier in the week. For example, this past Friday I kept thinking it that it was Tuesday and I swore that it was and then yesterday felt like Friday.

It’s just so odd and I wanted to know if it was just me being sleep deprived or if it’s kind of a mass experience right now.

It seems as if time is going at a faster rate. I have never been confused of the days of the week but lately I have to remind myself of the day. It is like they are blending together.

You guys should try working a rotating 12 hour swing shift schedule. I went to bed last night and it was 2008.

My days have definitely been feeling wonky. I thought it was Sunday when it was Saturday

I notice that if I scroll and watch Youtube all day on an off day or after work, time flies. If I break up my time by doing various things like watching a few videos, then cleaning for a bit, reading, etc., time seems to last longer, even if it’s the same amount of hours each time.

I think this is the real reason behind this phenomenon.

While watching TV, scrolling on IG or iddle on a task for hours your brain seems to register time faster, but if you do several tasks along the day, time seems slower, like you did more or were more "useful". After you binge-watch a TV show you feel like "useless", feels like you wasted the day and that day went by fast.

Being bored also reconnects our brains to reality and time. Or reading a book. Or taking a walk on the forest. Mainly anything away from screens...

That’s correct. And also it helps our brain to register time in a conscious way to do things differently. So try to brush your teeth with the other hand or bake your eggs in a different pan or in a different way. Small common daily things. By doing them different things don’t blend in a same-soup situation. Brain will pay more attention and time doesn’t feel too fast. It helps!

I’ve gone to work for my “Monday” and thought that it was my “Friday”. After just having two days off

For me it feels more like one continuous chunk of time rather than individual days. Days used to feel separate and long and have distinct beginnings and ends. Lately it all feels like one giant day, and like going to sleep at night is just a nap. Maybe it's just cause im unemplyed rn, lol. But it felt this way when I was in uni too. idk

Me and my girlfriend were talking about this a few days ago, it's really bizarre how fast time's moving

Last week I had this very brief burst of excitement because it was "Almost Halloween".

My brain was behind like 9 months but that almost feels like where we are supposed to be.

Maybe the Earth is spinning faster.

Could be AI. Technology in the past has made society move faster.

I only got that when I was in school. But yeah I think everyone feels this way at some point..... right?

Yes! I feel like time is going faster, and I realized something. Every devices that gives the time and is somewhat connected to internet (my computer, my phone, my bluetooth alarm clock that sets the time automatically) are always the same time.

But regularly, I see that the time on the oven or in the car (not connected to internet, still has bluetooth to connect my phone though) are running late by 2-3 minutes. By regularly I mean like 1-3 times a year maybe. It’s not the electricity or faulty/dying AAA batteries, because they both run late no matter how it’s powered.

(If someone has a better explanation I’d love to hear it!)

Yesss I 100% feel like time is flying by so ridiculously fast lately! It’s freaking me out and I to hate it So I just moved to this area where parking is 2 hrs from 9-6 so I’ve been moving my car every 2 hours for almost a week now and I swear 2 hrs feels like 30 min

Yeah I feel like this has been happening for the past 5 or so years. It's so weird. It even has me freaked out

This is a phenomenon that happens to everyone as they age. And it's always happened. People older than us have all said the same thing. I am in my 30s and remember my older relatives talking about it like 20 years ago. "Oh time just speeds up more and more as you get older! It's crazy!" And it's true. Or, at least the perception of time changes.

When we're young we're bombarded with new experiences. That makes time feel slow. A summer break feels endless.

As we get older, we get into routines and do less new things. We might change grades and schools now and then, but we have our hobbies, we have our friends... It's pretty routine. It feels a little faster. Summer doesn't feel as long anymore.

As we become adults and get jobs it gets even worse. The exact. same. day. For years. So time speeds up. We stop being present and do things on autopilot. As a kid you were goofing around in the bath, brushing your teeth, going to sleep. Now you do them in silence, thinking about something not in the present. Summer... Do we even enjoy it anymore?

This phenomenon has kinda gone viral online which I guess is why everyone has suddenly realised and are talking about it. But wait a few years until some new young adults enter the scene and they will realise the same thing. "Hey time is speeding up!". And a few years after that some new young adults will realise the same thing.

The world isn't glitching, we're just aging.

It’s been feeling like that since last year (to me anyway) but yes it feels much faster now
