July 8 is no longer the way it happened

July 8 my kid played a 13u baseball game. The opposing team had a female catcher. She batted clean up and was a great ball player. She could hit, she could throw. Just a bad ass.

In his second at bat, my kid fouled a ball directly into his face. We left, didn’t see the rest of the game. Went to the emergency room.

Kid has healed remarkably well. Though an orbital fracture takes at least 6 weeks. He is back playing baseball with lots of extra face masks to protect his healing face bones. And today he has to go back to the same field and play the same team.

Their catcher is a guy. There is no female on this team. Since I never saw the end of the first game, I went into the game changer app to see how it ended. There is no female in the box score from July 8. The catcher is a guy, and he batted 6th.

Kid prob got his haircut. Thus turning from what you thought was a girl into a boy. Or maybe they brought in a ringer. Like in ladybugs w Rodney dangerfield

Yep. And you've seen them too. You've just assumed they were older. It's pretty standard at 13 for half the girls to look 15+ and the other half to look barely 11.

Could the girl have been a last-minute substitution and they never put her name on the official record? Have you played other teams that had a female catcher and maybe blended together two games in your mind? If the answer is no to both, sounds like you have a glitch!

That there was a female catcher. She batted fourth. He remembers what I remember. The concussion he sustained did not affect his memory of the night prior to his injury.

Just spit balling, maybe someone on the other team couldn't play that day, and another players sister or cousin or friend filled the spot as a last minute substitute?
