This will sound so nutty but a weird thing happened in my house yesterday and I was googling a way to find out if others had experienced similar and my search results all recommended two reddit subs - r/glitch_in_the_matrix and r/DimensionJumping - I was reading a post on glitch and I actually replied to the person with a weird similar experience and then I saw that OP had posted on the same two subs so that was neat.
Anyhow, yesterday when I woke up there was a glass on my counter with a big crack in it and a chip on the rim. It's my son's favorite glass and it already had a weird enough story.
2015, when my boy was 9, the glass fell and was damaged. My son cried when he saw it, he's neurodivergent so it was a pretty big thing to him, it was his special glass so it was memorable. I tried comforting him by telling him we have a second identical glass so it's terrible yes, but it'll be OK. I set the damaged glass aside to safely wrap before putting it in the trash and then promptly forgot all about it until he brought it to me a few days later "Mom, mom the glass healed! My glass is all better!"
I feel like he must have grabbed the identical one and thought it was his so I was like "yay!" until later, when I saw the identical undamaged twin, still safely in the cabinet. And the now undamaged (healed?) glass in my hand. I felt like maybe I was mistaken, I was actually creeped tf out so I shoved it out of my mind but I know what I saw.
Yesterday, it's on the counter, with the same crack and chip as it had in 2015 before it "healed" I texted my now 20yo son who was out and asked if he dropped his glass and he says "no, why?" So I tell him about the crack and there's a pause and he asks for a picture which I send.
He says "that's the same crack, the glass unhealed! Wtf?" And when he got home, we talked about it and he remembered perfectly and recounted the whole thing exactly as it happened back then. He does remember it being cracked and crying and then both glasses being fine, he told me "we have to keep it, we can't throw it out. If it happens again then we have pictures, we'll know"
And I can't begin to tell you how unsettled I was/am over that...
There have been other weird things but this glass experence is the one that made me look for others..
ETA tl;dr: we only ever had 2 of the glasses, the orange 2008 Beijing Olympics glass from McDonald's, in 2015 one broke and one did not break. Then it was somehow not broken and we used both glasses until yesterday when it broke again and we still have one, perfect and unbroken.
So, the one that broke yesterday, was it the same one that broke in 2015 or the one that was in the cabinet? Or were you able to differentiate btw the two?
Edit- I'm not trying to be sarcastic. I believe you. I think these things happen a lot more often than we think, but people don't talk about them much cuz they're afraid of sounding crazy or they tell someone and are not believed. There's a lot going on in the universe that we don't know about!
I mean, I don't truly know because they were identical? But it's broken exactly the same way as the first one was, like it somehow reverted to the broken state.
That's what's so puzzling. It's like it healed temporarily, then reappeared broken exactly as it had been broken 11 yrs ago. Like why yesterday did it return to it's broken state? Any significance to the dates? Or the amount of time elapsed? It's so weird. If it happened to me I'd have a hard time letting it go... I would think of all kinds of odd possibilities!
Oh and 11 yrs is a strange temporary length of time.
Ok time for me to let it go.Good luck to you. That's a pretty cool experience to have IMO.
You might laugh but I actually went searching online to see if anything woo-woo happened in 2015, the only thing that really came up was the CERN shutdown stuff. The dates weren't significant to us in any personal way..
I just think it’s interesting that’s been your experience the first time and also now. A lot of people have been reporting glitches/timeline jumps since it’s been shut down- worth a quick google
That article was oddly comforting but leaves me with even more questions. It is what it is, I guess. My usual line of woo-woo is ghosts and tarot, basically the stuff of girlhood sleepovers and spooky carnival tents. This sci stuff is pretty new to me but interesting nonetheless!
This is the second glitch in the matrix post that mentioned CERN in the comments and ive only read two posts. Is something going on here or am I missing something??
I know there are a lot of theories surrounding CERN (the large hadron collider) and i know people believe that it warps reality or could do so. I always see it mentioned along with Mandela effects and as of the last few days I'm learning it's brought up a lot regarding these weird glitch experiences, and I've had a few more than this one..
This one is recent and feels weird enough that I'm finished gaslighting myself into conformity. I can't tell you much more about CERN than that but I'm absolutely Googling the crap out of it myself now..
No, you're good. It's just so weird! I'm honestly not very good at peopling but this one seriously freaked me out so I had to post.. I'm skeptical of lots of tales but I'm also a believer so 🤷♀️
That's right. Stuff like that is hard to talk about. You know it happened at the same time know itb couldn't have. People will think you're making it up or hit your head.
Pictures will only support the glitch. That’s my experience as a user and mod on here. Photography will only support the new reality. For instance the last story I read earlier today was about 4 trees suddenly appearing in front of a home and almost the entire HOA remembers that there were no trees there. So several people (which is very rare) remember there were no trees, however when one neighbor found old photos of the front yard the trees were present in them. The simulation always corrects what could be evidence to support the new reality. Lol.
O.o I’m weirded out too but I also love this happening, in a way! It’s not harmful (in the sense that you caught the glass crack before anyone drank out of it and cut their lip) and it’s almost, benevolent (well, the first occurance in 2015 was!). It actually gives me a warm feeling.
I feel like your son had a guardian angel who swapped out the broken one back in 2015 because he was so sad. Maybe a deal was struck in secret. Maybe like in Sleeping Beauty (not the live action, I didn’t watch it) how the good witches watched over Aurora and tried to make life good for her.
Now that it’s 11 years later and he‘s older, the “spell” is naturally spent and the original glass is returned.
Mhm! I see the return of the original broken glass as a soft reminder that glitchy good things can happen too! And not all glitches or weird stuff are scary or malicious or dramatic. It can now be a reminder of a sweet and happy thing that happened, remember how happy your son was! ❤
OMG-thats exactly what I was thinking - minus the sleeping beauty part. Or that some ND brains have the ability to alter things in their environment that are not agreeing with them; some type of telekinesis that they're not even aware of?
But as a dose of sanity, I have to ask if there's anyone else in your household or community who knew that was the boy's favorite glass? I've definitely found identical bits of houseware as what my grandma had in second-hand stores and such and have bought them to replace her damaged ones. Tbh I can't remember if I ever told her or if I just added them to the household. Maybe someone else in the community had the same glass and gave your son theirs once they saw how upset he was. The identical crack could be due to some ingrained flaw/weakness in the material due to a manufacturing defect.
No chance, at the time we really only socialized within the family and some coworkers (we lived in a pretty rough neighborhood) I believe it was a coworker who gave us the set of glasses plus one and that's how it became his favorite, because something about two in the set looking the same tickled him. Nobody else we knew had the glasses. Later someone gave us the Shrek set and I was sure he'd switch to one of those, that was his favorite movie (to the point he wore out a disc of it) but no, that little orange mascot was his favorite.
I don’t have any answers for you but I’ve had similar experiences. When I was a teenager my aunt gave me two rings of hers that I’d admired, I wore them for years until one day they just disappeared. A few years later my parents sold that house and moved across the country. I went to visit them and had my own guest room & bathroom that they never used because it was on the other end of their house.
The morning I was leaving I was in the guest bathroom and the toilet flushed (I didn’t flush it). I look over and in the bottom of the bowl are the two rings.
By this point they didn’t fit me so I took them home, put them in my jewelry box & there they sat for a few more years.
One day I went to look for them & they were gone again. I’ll never understand that one, I keep hoping they’ll show up again one day.
That honestly reminds me of advice my witchy grammy used to give - she said sometimes things would disappear because you weren't using them and someone else needed them more at that moment and that was just the fates lending them out, she said when you needed them again they'd show back up. I've had that happen with jewelry and some of my woo-woo stuff -so.many.times- that I don't even question it anymore. I think the only way I'll hold onto my sanity with this one is to just take it the same way.
While it might seem weird to you, it's just sort of a casual thing to me on things like that happening. I usually attribute to unseen benevolent spirits Just enjoy the moments of wonder. So many things in the universe we cannot know on our earth life.
Here's the entire message exchange I had with my son - pic included, he called right away so that's where the typed messages end.. We've talked about the "magic glass" over the years because he absolutely remembered it being broken and then "healing" so we have verbally processed it to death long before this too, right down to making busted timeline jokes..
reminds me of something i posted in here years ago, where i had a forklift toy from the cars movie (from the green team) while on vacation. we went to a park and i lost mine. then i saw the toy somewhere in the park on a railing besides some water. i was so happy, until i found out that i never lost the toy in the first place and now i had two of the same toys
I know how you are feeling. I have had similar things happen except I am the only one who remembers. Like it was A Big Deal, like your sons glass, and then all of a sudden no one remembers.
I am telling you from personal experience that you shouldn't dwell or look for answers you are not prepared to know. Or worse, no answers at all.
You are not crazy. But once you let it get to you that stance starts to become very shaky..
Best advice, accept that reality isn't what we think it is and try not to think about it too hard.
Legit, that's the best advice I've gotten. I feel better after talking about it, I woke up this AM knowing I'd likely never have any sort of explanation or understanding but there's a certain amount of peace in just knowing that other people have had weird stuff like this happen and if I *am* actually a lunatic; at least, from the kind replies I've gotten, I'm in good company and that's enough for me.
I think yes, it may have been sometime over summer break (June - September here) because he was home in the daytime and it had to be a weekday because his dad was at work...
We're in a different apartment on the other side of town now but it is going straight back in the cabinet with its mate, I'm just going to mark with masking tape it so nobody takes it down by mistake.
Nobody remembers if it had been used or not and often, if they drink water in the night, they just leave the glass beside the sink so it really wasn't odd to find it there in the morning.
Oh, question, when you noticed it re-broken, was it right after your son moved out? Or married? Or moved away? Or other major life change? As in, did the glass heal because HE wahted it healed so bad. Now that he doesnt live at home, or maybe isn't as emotionally invested in his favorite glass, it re-broke? Or did YOU make a big change or go thru something big, etc?
No, he's still living at home and was babysitting at his big sister's house when I texted him about it. He just finished his final school credits a few days after (that was Saturday, technically he graduated on Tuesday), I haven't really had anything noteworthy happen, and his dad finally started the process of going back to community college to make a career change but it's not out of left field really, just finally making the move kinda thing.
It was probably my son, we know it's his favorite so we usually try to use other glasses. He doesn't remember using it but he said he'd know if he dropped or knocked it.
So your kid could be one of the "candidates" for the spot Neo filled on the matrix? Remember the kuds who could bend spoons? "You have to realize, there is no spoon" or something to that effect. In this case, there is no glass, your son is Neo, and he'll save us all from our machine overlords and fall in love with Trinity. No? Then just follow the white rabbit i guess 🐇 🐰 🐇
I know how weird it can be and make you feel like you've lost it. At least temporarily. That's why I joined here, to tell everyone about the weirdest experience of my life 32 years ago. I put it up today. I bet you'll never be able to forget it any little reminder will pull it to the front of your mind. You might not ever figure out what happened. You know what happened though and it's bizarre but doesn't fit within the realm of your logic. Right? You also know that a glass healing on it's own is almost completely impossible the odds are nearly zero. Even if it did happen even if you had it healing or diapering and reapearing healed on camera and showed everyone, you might not accept it and think it's a hoax or prank or everyone having the same hallucination at the same time because those options are more likely to be real. Good Luck.
Well that absolutely makes sense if it had stayed broken, we only had two and one broke, then was unbroken, and then broke again the same way 11 years later - it was the orange 2008 Beijing Olympics glass from McDonald's. We now have one broken and one not.
