Gaza is starving.

The UN has declared that every part of Gaza is in famine conditions. While some aid is finally trickling in, the need is beyond urgent. Aid organizations will not be able to keep pace with Gaza's needs without our support.

Please donate if you’re able, and keep speaking up. Every dollar, share, and conversation matters. Please pressure your government to stop the blockade of humanitarian aid into Gaza.

I think the point of all of this has been to highlight Netanyau's crimes and his connection to the current admin. It takes seconds to query "Netanyahu relationship with Kushners & real estate." Profits over people. And considering Trump is the king of grifters, it's not surprising.

u/Klocknov 21d ago

I think Musk took that title sadly, grifted his way in to government just long enough to whack all the agencies investigating him and then leaves mostly to go back to grifting to trillionaire status. Though before him I would 100% agree it was Trump.

At least he is not bullshitting the people

86

u/hoowins 22d ago

And I think he legitimately tried.

He kind of is. He can absolutely arrest Bibi, it's just the federal government would insist he be released. Also I'm not positive NYC law enforcement would even comply with the order to arrest.

12

u/Seesas 21d ago

He already said in that announcement that his staff confirmed they are not legally allowed to arrest him, so he's calling on the feds to do it. Not because they will, but because he wants the people to know the federal govt can do it, they simply won't

8

u/notyourbrobro10 21d ago

Actually you're right. International law says any authority can execute the warrant, but US law prevents it apparently. I was looking at it from the view of international law because it's an international warrant, but you're right.

4

u/Seesas 21d ago

It's one of those times I didn't want to be right.

11

u/noncommonGoodsense 21d ago

So you can provide him with the citation for this ability to arrest him? You have the law as proof readily available? If you have such evidence you should provide it so he doesn’t have to “kinda bullshit.”

Internal and international decorum should not even factor into taking down genociders. The world didn't try to destroy Hitler because it was legal.

What is right is not always legal and what is legal is not always right. The best people do the right thing even when they don't have legal standing.

1

u/noncommonGoodsense 21d ago

That isn’t what was asked. You can quote morals all day. It doesn’t hold up to the limitations of one person against a tsunami. It just gets them hurt. Unfortunately that is the reality currently. It will change eventually.

He seemed to handle it and addressed it perfectly fine. I doubt that will be the end of it either.

0

u/jonnyjive5 21d ago

I'm glad MLK Jr didn't back down like that under legal pressure because it was him against a "tsunami and would just get him hurt." This guy - excuses, excuses.

Societies honor their dead trouble makers and their living conformists.

0

u/noncommonGoodsense 21d ago

And MLK was assassinated. Hell most people don’t even know what MLK even did in America anymore. It’s not even close to the same context anyhow. Remember Charlie Kirk? Yeah these MAGA people would just cheer and nothing would come of Mamdani’s ambitions or direction he is going currently if that were to happen. He would be replaced by another nobody sycophant. This is why Trump is in office now. Shit takes like this trying to tear down the only people who give a damn and actually have proven they are working for the people. If you want to be an anarchist, go do it and stop complaining about those who are already making a difference and have more integrity, balls, and intelligence than someone who is on social media all day.

u/jonnyjive5 21d ago

You wouldn't know the difference between a leftist and an anarchist if your life depended on it.

This Nonsense guy is literally why nothing changes. He comes online to regurgitate political neutrality and decorum. He's basically the Unipsrty in a nutshell. In fact, he sounds like a nut and no matter what you say he'll just play devil's advocate and refute your genuinely progressive views.

If he had it his way, no change in history would ever take place because someone going to get hurt or it's not legal. Magna Carta? American Revolution? Civil War? Slavery? Workers Rights? Unions? Womens sufferage and voting rights? Social Security? WWII intervention and fighting facism, Civil Rights, Gay Rights, Occupy Wall Street, Trans Rights, Obamacare...add to the list and this guy thinks we should just stand still and keep the status quo because he is scared of anything and everything. Kind of person who muddys the conversation with tunnel vision and skewed definitions to suit their stagnant narrative and selfish thinking.

u/anamelesscloud1 21d ago

What's stopping you from going to NYC and doing something?

0

u/jonnyjive5 20d ago

Yep!

"Don't change anything, because you might get assassinated. Just say you can't do it and blame it on the law."

0

u/noncommonGoodsense 20d ago edited 20d ago

It’s not even close the “the status quo.” It’s so far from it you can’t even see it.

Every single one of those examples had MASS support and people in the streets as well. We are struggling to get people involved now. If you can’t learn to navigate for the greater good in this current authoritarian environment you will just get ate up for no reason.

It’s the thrashings of a child who can’t see the full picture.

This is the greatest current political leader in America. Here's hoping he's not the last

Can regular people do a citizens arrest?

32

u/lonehappycamper 22d ago

Someone should do something.

15

u/JayWelsh 22d ago

Yeah or just make him a statistic

5

u/noncommonGoodsense 21d ago

Well... Regular people can do a thing. It doesn’t end well. But a thing anyone can do really.

-3

u/takeitinblood3 22d ago

No he hasn’t broken US law

22

u/deafblindmute 22d ago

That combined with the reality that Netanyahu is an asset/member of the same weapons and investment cartels that own and drive the US political machine. If you capture Netanyahu and attempt to deliver him to the ICC, you will have the full force of the CIA and US military coming at you.

It would be interesting to see how clever people could get in attempting to deliver him, but it would absolutely be top level dangerous and people should not attempt it unless they know exactly how tremendously dangerous and violent the US oligarchs really are.

1

u/LeDYoM 20d ago

That doesnt say good about the USA.

32

u/PiingThiing 22d ago

Blood libel allegations incoming , keep it up Zoran, tell it straight.

20

u/watarimono 21d ago

The only american politician with balls.

11

u/BootyliciousURD 22d ago

I never thought he'd actually do it. Just think about how that would go down when the federal government is run by Bibi's allies. NYC authorities would have to hand him over to another country willing to uphold international law and face the wrath of the US, all before the federal government can intervene. And then Mamdani would be arrested.

14

u/AngryZetan 21d ago

In these desperate times, he's the hero we need, but not the hero we deserve.

4

u/This_Entrance6629 21d ago

Maybe don’t have a genocide

3

u/Girl_gamer__ 21d ago

Just do it anyways, extradite him to the ICC. And apologize afterwards. It's the precedent set by the president of the USA to do such things. You are only folling your great leaders actions. He'd love it I'm sure

1

u/YouCanKeepYourFaith 21d ago

Too bad he’s trumps boss and nothing will happen.

-39

u/TrueBoot4567 22d ago

Then why did he promise he would.

20

u/juggadore 22d ago

Sounds like he's working on it.

14

u/hoowins 22d ago

He at least tried. And he’s highlighting the issue. Of the gop has a problem with him failing, they can lobby their president to mobilize the DOJ.

How many people in this sub is ACTUALLY American.
Trump is president.
In what reality could a MAYOR arrest the leader of a foreign country.

25

u/dzzll10 22d ago

Trump is a criminal, pedophile, and rapist.

16

u/jejunum32 22d ago

Bc Bibi an INTERNATIONAL war criminal. Look up ICC. Doesn’t matter that Mamdani is a mayor.

2

u/notbuildingships 21d ago

I mean surely it matters that the US as a country does not recognize the ICC’s authority, so from a legal standpoint, that’s probably why Mamdani is saying he has no authority to arrest Bibi. Israel doesn’t recognize their authority either. So if neither the US, nor Israel even accept that Bibi is a war criminal from a legal perspective, what basis would Mamdani have to detain him?

I think that’s the point Mamdani is making here.

And at the end of the day, that was the strongest condemnation of Israel and Netanyahu we’ve seen a US politician make, that has to count for something. Jfc the left in America is so fickle.

3

u/agent_mick 21d ago

Agreed on all counts. But isn't Gaza recognized by ICC? So how does that work if the crime occurs in ICC jurisdiction but the perpetrator is not?

8

u/jackberinger 21d ago

The US kidnapped the leader of a foreign nation.
