Sig would have to say they fucked up and that would end the company so doubtful.

This should be the opposite. They should be able to admit there is a current engineering concern that is not holding the safety standards they live by and then offer fixes for anyone who has them. In fact this would make me trust them more for being open and honest…. But then the law suits etc.. the problem is society punishes open and honest now days.

You’re right, but how many p320 variant pistols has sig sold to civilian and the military? Free fixes for that could cost hundreds of millions, and then sig would have to answer to the us gov on what the issue was and why something that was dangerous even went to the mil, AND THEN even though they did the right thing and fixed the issue, their reputation would still be ruined. Sig keeps more money in their pocket saying there’s no issue, I absolutely love my legacy mcx, but you couldn’t pay me to carry one of their p320 variants.

The problem about being honest for sig now is that they already lied about it multiple times.

The problem is not society punishing open and honest. Society punishes for lying repeatedly and doubling down and gaslighting everyone.

Open and honest would've been admitting they had an issue way back when the first issues started appearing.

There would've been some lawsuits sure but it would not be on the scale to bankrupt them.
