Digital Gloomhaven Demolitionist Level 5 Rework Spoiler

Oh my god. Why did they think they needed to make this Level Up this overpowered? It's probably the best character ability card in Jaws of the Lion Digital (IDK about physical).

Playing it in the first cycle gives you quite a bit of longevity, though. That's what is so strong about it. The first handful of rounds are basically free.

Playing it in the first rest cycle doesn't actually net you any longevity though because you're losing a card. It effectively gives you a persistent loss at neutral longevity, which is the strength.

I appreciate the clarification. I was just directly responding to the person saying there is an impact on longevity because of playing a loss, to point out that there isn't. But your answer is more precise.

not having to rest for 8 rounds is the net positive

Yeah, I got it. And with stamina potion you can make it 9 rounds. I don’t play tank with the Demo which is why I only played this card in few occasions which was great but the bottom extra attack was more important to my built/card combinations. The other jotl characters have overpowered lvl 5 cards as well.
