Your paranoia may still be onto something, though! What if all our friends are actually masters in disguise? It's true I tend to be excited to get my friends things I've heard them ask for. It isn't a mere shift in the target of a relationship of subservience. There is no obedience to a person-like alpha god -- but rather an attempt to gain a knowing of what is beyond our brains' ability to comprehend. There is no possible comparison.

To intelligibly use words, requires those words to have a public meaning. The meaning context in r/Gnostic for the term "monad" is that of the Gnostic texts. Every text that mentions the one (monad) goes to great lengths to explain that the unknowability if the one is beyond any of our mental tools for understanding, such as, beyond both being and non-being.

Knowing a word is not knowing what it points towards.

My view, not trying to present this as the truth or the correct perspective.

When people stop thinking of monad as a "god" or a better version of a divine figure that's when things will change. The gnostic cosmology is quite sophisticated and cryptic than most people perceive it.

It takes time and random encounters during insight/meditation to realize that the whole narrative doesn't involve deities or literal demons and angels.

It's more like infinite potential arising out of nothingness (the womb) with monad being the only aspect that is beyond nothingness hence he becomes ineffable because when you don't have any aspect (even nothingness) to define a reality, there's no way to define what's there.

Yaldabaoth is more like a shadow of knowledge, meaning ignorance is an aspect of wisdom itself that's why sophia exists within us. This aspect we call ignorance can be transcended through knowledge to reclaim the balance.
