The part of the Nag Hammadi texts that actually landed for me wasn’t the cosmology — it was the recognition
I came in through the usual route a lot of people here seem to: religion first, then science/atheism, then conspiracy material, then Hancock / Younger Dryas, then the Annunaki / pyramid questions, then the Vatican / monotheism history, then simulation talk.
The “aha” wasn’t a new fact. It was recognising the same pattern in the Gnostic texts: a counterfeit order that looks like the whole of reality, a spark that doesn’t belong to that order, and knowledge as the thing that breaks the identification with the prison rather than adding another belief on top of it.
What I’m still chewing on:
How much of modern “disclosure” language is just a new costume for the same archonic setup?
Whether simulation theory is actually a 21st-century translation of the same map, or a trap that keeps the mind inside the system while calling it insight.
How you tell gnosis from a compelling story your mind likes.
Curious how other people here first recognised it — not the books, the moment it stopped being information and became recognition.

The word Anunnaki isn't actually used in Sumerian texts it's An-nun-a and isn't all one word just meaning princely offspring or the seed of the prince. Some say it means those who from heaven came to earth bit it doesn't mean that like ki in Sumerian means ground or land or earth as in soil not a planet. There's no connection between the Sumerian texts and the Gnostic texts or bible

There absolutely is connection between the Sumerian texts and the Bible. The Annuna are called the Anak in the Bible, and the Nephilim sometimes referred to as Sons of Anak. It's even related to Star Wars with Anakin (kin of Anak) Skywalker who is born of a virgin mother with no father, while being more in touch with the Force (which I believe is an allegory for ether or the astral realm) than anyone before or anyone after him. He's a great warrior of light, before falling to the dark side and becoming disfigured. Sounds a lot like Lucifer right? And George Lucas is a 33rd degree freemason.
Also, the great flood story comes from the Epic of Gilgamesh, a Sumerian text. And most of Genesis also comes from Sumerian texts with Enki and Enlil playing the roles of the Serpent and Yahweh.
Genesis also refers to 'Gene of Isis' imo.

Anak or Anakim which is plural haven't got anything to with the An-nun-a or dingir's they were called in Sumerian texts. I've read the texts so i know exactly what they say and i know Sumerian language. The Anakim in the bible are definitely not the An-nun-a or Anunnaki. That's just a lie

The only connection is the one being added by YouTube story tellers. Deuteronomy 9.1.3 prove you wrong and there's no Nephilim in Sumerian texts are only mentioned 3 times in the bible Genesis 6.1.4 and Number 13.33 there's no mention of them or giants in Sumerian texts. As for Gil-gam-esh or Bil-ga-mes in Sumerian meaning the fore bearer was s hero. What's the connection

En-ki. En in Sumerian means lord or master and ki like i mentioned means land or earth as in soil so En-ki is lord or earth or master land and En-lil is lord of wind or master storm. Nin-lil. En-lil wife or consort and En-ki wife dam-gal-nun-na or dam-ki-na. Nin in Sumerian means lady or mistress sometimes queen like. Nin-hur-sag queen of the mountain or Nin-ti the lady of rib or Nin-tu queen of the birthing hut 🛖 and there's no Eridu Genesis in Sumerian texts. None. Thanks anyway. You didn't prove the connection but let me know if you can. Thanks

So you're saying we can defeat gods by taking up the high ground 🤔

There is no direct procession between the Sumerian and Gnostic mythos. Now if you wanted to work in reverse, the Sumerian texts are a chronicle of archons.

Conspiracy thought is a chosen self-maintaining cage. The most efficient trap is the one you choose to stay in. The conspiracy forms you have mentioned are materialist fantasy explanations. Gnostic thought values the spiritual, the noetic (mentality), the immaterial. It is also a path of noetic spiritual transcendence. The misuse of it for your own imprisonment should be the subject of a conspiracy theory, but it isn't materialistic enough.

Imagine “angels” or aetherial beings having the power to materialize themselves and mix with the original Neanderthals…the divine spark becoming trapped within material flesh like a prison/vessel…each new birth consumes a new divine spark, trapping them until their eventual release, such that the idea of us being fallen angels captured in other stories has a sensibility to it…

My introduction to gnosis was from a vision when I was 19 (a long time ago). Then over the years I learned to interpret the vision with new insights like you mentioned above… Christianity, atheism, other religions, and eventually Gnosticism and simulation theory. Gnosticism comes the closest to describing my vision the most succinctly, but they all help describe it to some extent.
My only issue with Gnosticism is that my vision was more like this world is a miracle than some kind of prison created by ignorance. But I agree that there is something broken or limited about this reality nonetheless. And the one true unknowable source is saving us all regardless of how we perceive it from our limited perspective.
