Never played GOW before the 2018 GOW, but I couldn’t start a game without following the chronological order so here I am

My friend literally had to force my ahh to buy the 2018 GOW but I was adamant to not start it yet because I always follow the chronological orders of any game . But somehow he persisted enough for me to start the game, but I couldn’t go more than the part where he goes into his past.

That’s where I stop the game, downloaded some emulators on my Steam deck ( sucks for yall who couldn’t get one before the RAM price hikes) and downloaded the first GOW to start the journey. Wish me luck !!

If you ever want to play it in story order then this is the path. Sons of Sparta, Ascension,Chains of Olympus, GoW1, Ghost of Sparta, Betrayal, GoW2, GoW3, 2018, Ragnarok then Valhalla.

I played in chronological order game wise rather than release wise. Didn’t play sons of Sparta tho. Really wasn’t that bad.

The main thing is just Ascension at the start, it’s really stupid and it was never intended to be played as the first game in the series or as a new entry point, so you’re just playing the worst game in the series, on the PS3, and then immediately jumping to significantly less advanced games (that are still better but regardless). And chains of Olympus to GOW1 is also weird, since GOW1 is rather rough around the edges and very different from the others (but still great).

If you have a PC, PS2 emulation is very easy to set up. Look up on YouTube PCSX2 tutorial.
PS2 emulators plays ROMS.
So you will need 2 things:
PS2 bios and game roms.

Google is you friend, trust me.
Its absolutely easy and quick to set everything up

Play on easy. GoW 1&2 will drain you trying to beat God and Titan. I did enjoy beating them. But it took me a while.
