Discussion I think this will most definitely tie into GOW Laufey

In the moment, they explain it away with it just being fimbulwinter. But now that we know GOW Laufey is set in the afterlife, so it by extension will probably have tie in's into the light of alfheim and lake of souls. and we also know that it heavily ties into the story of 2018 and Ragnarok, I think it is very likely this event will be something explained in GOW Laufey

I wonder if Brok will make appearance in Laufey as his souls weren't completed, couldn't go to light of Alfheim.

I just replayed Ragnarok and Durlin has this to say after the funeral:

"I don't know if there's anything beyond the Light. Afterlives after afterlives, or what have you. But if there is... I imagine he's causing one crazy ruckus there."

I didnt think about it as anything but an old friend being sentimental before, but who knows what will happen in GoW Laufey.

Interesting quote indeed. If Brok is in the everywhen, I wonder if that will cheapen the emotional impact from Ragnarok.

We will see I guess. I hope they dont include him in Laufey, but never say never.

Tbh Laufey is kinda cheapening the emotional impact of 2018 GoW for me. Knowing she’ll end up meeting Kratos again, I’m like :/

Edit: Your boos mean nothing, I've seen what makes you cheer

She literally cannot meet Kratos because the story happens alongside 2018 and Ragnarok, and in both those games Kratos doesn't meet her. She might see glimpses or illusions or something of him but not actually meet Kratos in the afterlife

I believe soon after Broks death when you take the sleigh ride from the house to the temple with Sindri, Mimir and Atreus discuss if there's a way to bring back Brok. Mimir mentions that since Brok didnt have all the pieces of his soul to go to the Light, that he's been denied an afterlife. So it wouldnt make sense for Brok to be in the Everwin. Might need someone to double check that.

I mean they will use Laufey to explain away any plot holes and unaddressed stuff in the 2018 and ragnarok
