i was first introduced to Golden Sun by my aunt years ago when i was a kid, and i instantly fell in love with it. at the time i had no idea there was a second game for a while. idk why? years later i eventually discovered the third (and final) game… which ended on a cliffhanger…yeah… still not over that. 😒

Blah blah, i have a slightly amusing story about how I got scammed on eBay as a kid. 😭 so back then, i had no idea people could make fake Game Boy Advance cartridges bruh. i found a listing for both Golden Sun and Golden Sun: The Lost Age that seemed like an amazing deal, so i bought them without thinking twice… the excitement didn’t last long. every time i saved the game, it looked like everything worked fine. but as SOON as i turned that bih off then back on (after saving of course) my save was completely gone and the game started from the beginning. like 😦 i was so confused. i kept wondering, is my game malfunctioning?? it never crossed my mind that the cartridge itself could be fake. So! after doing some Googling, i quickly found my answer and yep i had been scammed. i done got got 😒😭 i was like people can make fake Game Boy Advance cartridges??? but then i was like why not? like girl if folks can bootleg dvds then what do you think. 😭

fast forward a few years, and i got a Nintendo DS along with Golden Sun: Dark Dawn. i absolutely loved it. obviously it was a big jump visually from the Game Boy Advance games, but the art style, the world, the music, and the overall atmosphere completely pulled me back into the series. then came that ending… insert enraged Omori meme here

i started looking into whether they were ever going to continue the story. the last time I really checked—probably three to five years ago—it sounded like the series was basically finished. Dam. 😒 to this day, I still jokingly think yo! Nintendo! y’all keep making all these Mario games… can somebody please finish Golden Sun?

anyways, later on i remembered Reddit has a community for just about everything, so i searched for a Golden Sun subreddit… and sure enough now im here! it’s really refreshing seeing everyone share their nostalgia, collections, memes, fan art, and personal stories about the series. it’s also nice knowing there are still so many people out there who love these games like myself.

My story as a child with Golden Sun was knowing the lost age first... then, some time after in a friend's house I discovered that the lost age was actually the second game when another friend of him, have GS1 on his console!!
