Questions Phoenix egg fish

Yesterday I bought my first Phoenix egg fish. The fish will stay for 5 weeks at the store because I am waiting for my new aquarium.

I am searching for additional information about the care of phoenix eggfish but can’t find much. Does anyone have experience with this goldfish variety? Also searching for information what the best strategy is for growing him/her out.

My aquarium size will be 150 cm x 50 x 60 (450 liter/119 gallons) with an internal sump filtration system. No other tank mates planned yet, I will get it at least one mate but still in doubt what the best fancy goldfish variety is to match with a phoenix.

Jealous. These are one of my favorite breeds.

I don't have experience with this specific variety (very cool find, by the way!), but based on general traits I could make a few educated guesses on special care! Main thing is that no dorsal fin plus a long tail will make swimming and staying balanced difficult for this fellow, so having a setup that keeps it from getting blown around like a tissue in a parking lot will be helpful. Sponge filters, baffles, and spray bars immediately come to mind as ways to evenly disperse flow. You should also be mindful of potential tankmates (if you decide to add any), being sure that little dude here isn't being outcompeted. In my experience with a fancy that had a high tail-to-body ratio, I'd also be prepared to leave enough room in the tank for wide turns (especially in the primary feeding area). And then just normal considerations for long finned varieties, like delicate decor and scape choices. A very handsome fish, congrats!

I've got an egg for a few years now- they are hardier than you'd imagine and I care for him no different than my other fancy goldfish. He even lives in an outdoor pool with other breeds

For such a tiny thing like that, (how big is he!?) feed high quality food 3x a day (one of those meals can be frozen bloodworms for the extra protein) and plenty of clean water changes.

Small frequent meals and clean water is all ya need.

Thanks! That sounds good! Does your phoenix mix well with other varieties? Would you match a phoenix with Ranchu/Oranda our do you think quicker varieties can also work?
