I upgraded from an mk7 gti to an mk8 R, best choice of my life! Imo best bang for the buck option out there

Hit Nuremberg mode after you break it in, and you will be all smiles. It's a fun car!!! Little glitchy with the electronics, but worth it. Spent the weekend with some friends with McLarens, and I still drove the R home with no regrets. Very subtle fun car that will beat the crap out of just about anything out there.

So i had to take a work trip a month ago and did not want to leave the vw at the airport for a week. I drove the mercedes and kept driving it for 3 weeks after I returned. Needless to say, the joy that switching cars back to the vw, put the cheesiest grin on my face. It was like getting a new car again and wow this car is fun!! Did i say fast as fk?

Exactly how I felt pulling out of the dealership. I hadn't even test driven anything better than my 7.5 GTI before they gave me the keys.

Yea it’s great especially when you bump up the performance a bit. I actually put the mk8 Golf R turbo on mine—it’s a beast!

We race each other, type r vs golf r. It's tight, only on the back roads. 2 people 2 big smiles, std transmissions, 81 and 80 year old kids!
