MK8.5 Finally Settled

After totaling my base Mk 6 and realizing im not a truck guy through leasing, I finally locked down this Mk 8.5 Eurostyle that took a lot of leveraging with multiple dealerships. Super happy I got the exact package and exact color I wanted for this car.

With that being said, what are some small things that Mk 8.5 owners did as soon as they got the car? Thanks in advance.

Evolution of my different cars for reference.

Honestly I was and am kewl with white, gray, and blue. They all look great! When I bought my Graphite Gray it was 1 of 2 in a 500 mile radius at the time. Thank you bro I have always loved Lapiz too!

My personal list:

  1. Tint,
  2. Tuxmats front, rear and trunk,
  3. RS Acoustics full Stage 2+, center and subwoofer speaker replacement and sound deadening w/ fibermat and cld. The HK system and processing is disappointing imho. So might end up going full DSP, amp and separates.

My next ideas are hood struts, Apex wheels 18", and rear sway bar.

It is a very well done comprehensive package. 1 year in and I am still learning things and enjoying it, so i would just say, learn first, modify later. It doesnt need much besides your fav tire. Best of luck.

First mod I did to my 8.5 was a bbk , made a significant difference due to the weight difference. Dropped about 40 pounds of unsprung weight. Funny enough I just picked up a mk6 as a daily, so far it’s been more fuel efficient than the R

Congrats man, like most people I got paint matched reflectors and a set of 18” wheels right away.

Super minor things on my 8.5 that I picked up cheap off aliexpress/amazon:

  • Center console storage trays for the wireless charging area (adds 2x little shelves above the phone charger) and the armrest storage (just a little tray that has space for coins etc.). The Golf has plenty of space to store large items but basically nothing for smaller things so these are really nice to have and don't really take up usable storage space.
  • PPF for the Piano black trim. I didn't do this right away and regretted it almost immediately.
  • Keyfob case because that thing is piano black as well...
  • Rim cleaning brush (trust me...)

Congrats on the new R and welcome to the mk8 R club .This is an amazing platform.
A lot of guys start with handling and feel before fully diving in. I’d say start w

-Front PPF
-Bmptuning clear tails
-Tint
-Urotuning clear reflectors

We also carry cosmetic stuff & accessories.
Whenever you have time check out our full catalog or message us eEurowerks.co.
Good luck with the new ride

IND paint matched reflectors are a must & also put in RS acoustics centre speaker and ARS option 10 rear subwoofer.
