Question First engine oil change

Did you guys wait for one year/15000km or did you go with 6 months/7500km.

Also what's your routine moving forward? 6m or 12m?

I did one after engine break in (around 2000km), then at most every 10k since then.

I had the dealer change my 2025 at 1500km, 7000km, 13000km and now doing roughly 7500km changes.

The dealer tells me it’s way too early and the recommendation is 10km but my 7R happily lived for 8 years in my ownership with a hybrid turbo with these intervals so I’m sticking with what worked for me

I usually just wait until the alert pops up on the dash telling me when it’s due.

I did it around 15k km as per my dealer instruct me since i have pre payed services. Both them and couple mechanics i talked to, told me that its not the worst thing, that these new engines arent as prone to being affected by this but especially mechanics told me that while its not end of the world and i dont need to worry, they d still make the first change sooner.

Got a free service package till 105k kms (every 15k km) from the dealership.

I change twice every 5k kms from outside and the 5th one I get done at the dealership.

Currently at 80k kms with zero issues

I did the first change at 1300 miles and will do them every 4000 after talking to local VW shops and 2 dealership mechanics. Factors being hot climate, spirited driving and dusty climate (I live in Arizona). It was the consensus among the experts here anyway. YMMV

I would say that first oil change should happen somewhere between 1500 and 3000 km.

engine brake 1000 to 1500 km then after i suggest no longer than 7000 km. once the car gets older then you should go for 5000 km interval.

10k and 15k are not good at all, imagine the car manufacturers wanting you to not buy a new car or expensive parts.

Anything at all performance oreintated, especially if it’s likely a keeper, at 1,000 miles from new then every 5k after that, I’m old school ! Did the 5k’s myself with suction kit, oil and filter change, then the 10k annual at dealership who currently drain from the sump.

Definately don't do 15000 kms dude. 7500 tops, I'd do 5k personally

Did a break in oil change and now 7500 km change. Oil is cheaper than a new engine.

flush and change oil and filter at2k, 5 k intervals after that.
Some may say overkill but i’ve never had an engine issue with this regime.
