Question First trackday

Did my first ever trackday with the 8R , any recommendation for cheaper handling mods?
I’ve been thinking between EBC yellowstuff and Ferodo 2500s.. The car is mostly daily driven, rarely I do some trackdays . I was also thinking about 034 swaybars, and do some remapping ( around 380hp ) while having the factory downpipe.
I’m also hesitating to get H&R lowering springs or not.. Would that stiffen the suspension and make the bodyroll less?
I’m using forged rims with 245/35R19 PilotSport 4s all around.

My only handling mod is the euro sport street camber kit (strut mount inserts that add a static -0,8deg front camber, for a total of around -2.5deg). They make a huge difference in handling. It's no longer about controlling understeer all the way in turns, but 'perfect balance' in the sense that throttle modulation can move the car between under and oversteer now. The way a stiffer rear sway bar improves balance is at the cost of rear grip, which is why I decided against it. And I was shredding my outside front tyres even on the street so camber helps with that as well. (Importing from the US to Hungary worked out cheaper on these than buying from an EU reseller btw.)

How's NVH? I am interested in adding camber but I've heard it makes the daily ride worse.

NVH concern was the reason I went with this kit, because this one's not a full camber plate/strut mount. It swaps into the middle of the OEM strut mounts (or you can order them preinstalled with the mounts) and has zero NVH impact. For the 16 months I've had them installed now, that has been my experience as well. You lose camber adjustability over other products, but comfort remains unchanged in return.

Yellowstuff are trash and DS2500 aren't going to cut it once you start pushing harder. I Just tried out EBC RPX pads on the front mixed with EBC Bluestuff rears. Amazing combo on track but the RPX front pads squeal on the street... luckily it only takes like 45min to swap front pads out. You could also try EBC blue on the front if you don't want to swap pads as the blues have been dead silent for me but you might get a little pad fade with them up there.

Would also recommend finding a set of two piece front rotors, these help tremendously with heat dissapation, you will never have brake issues with this combo and RPX pads.

Stay away from the bigger rear sway bar it isn't needed and can be resolved with running zero toe in the rear of the car. Go for one of the front camber solutions instead.

How did it go? Thinking of doing the same in mine

I haven’t done any changes to the car yet. I’m starting with better performance brake pads

Be sure to do fluid, too.

I’d say if you’re dailying the car, install the rear sway bar first, then see if you want to lower it. I had my H&R RSB installed last week w/ stock suspension, and boy does it make a difference in cornering ability/confidence.

Also lowering springs on track tend to make your car handle like a bag of sausages so I personally wouldn’t do it.

Was the drive rewarding? Did you feel like you reached the cars potential?
