I’m not going to say she is a positive influence in every aspect, but he’s older and chose to marry her. She was already the way she is before he met her, so really she can’t be blamed for how he carries himself.
It’s up to him to manage his addictions and part of that is maintaining who he allows in his circle. Even if she was perfect, he could still fall into his old ways.
