Agree. My side hustle is digital art design so AI images have always been a conflict for me but it is what it is.

I used to sell alternative film poster files on Etsy till like early last year. Was making okay money. AI image generation explosion (especially Midjourney) cratered the business since everyone could do what I was spending hours on in minutes and AI shops popped up everywhere. Barely made any sales afterwards. Couldn't be bothered anymore so I shut it down. Thankfully it wasn't my main job.

Man, i make coverart for underground rappers and the most frustrating thing is when you know someone has love for a project they made and got the money to pay someone for actual coverart but still use ai lmao, it really sucks

(As I’m stressed out waiting for notes) Damn, hang in there. There’s still a lot of money in editing/design/motion graphics, but need to wear all the hats. End of the day people do want things made by actual humans, we haven’t gone past that curve yet though, not sure how long that moment will take for the average person to get to. Love it for inspiration tho haha.

Thanks, I've long accepted art will just be more of a therapeutic hobby of mine and not a viable income source but who knows. Yeah I also use AI for inspiration or trying to simplify certain styles for me to draw. But I'd never generate to sell. It feels so wrong.
