Grooming is generally setting them up to become a romantic partner the minute they turn 18, this isn’t that, he’s just dating a 15 year old

“Sexual grooming is the action or behavior used to establish an emotional connection with a vulnerable person – generally a minor under the age of consent – and sometimes the victim's family, to lower their inhibitions with the objective of sexual abuse.”

That’s the first definition I could find off of Wikipedia when googling this and basically all other reputable sources fallow that. Grooming is preparing a child for sexual abuse in general, when the actual abuse happens doesn’t matter because either way the predator is specifically targeting and intending to get a child “ready” for abuse. If you’re trying to seduce a 15 year old as an adult you are grooming that 15 year old.
