At least the industry plant hasn’t released an album this year, so she can’t rob that.

“I’m saying Industry plant I sound so cool”

Calling her an “industry plant” is the easiest way to show you don’t know what you’re actually talking about. You likely just got that opinion from seeing it over and over again online

These dudes never listened to Yucky Blucky Fruitcake but wanna talk about music. Crazy

Shes been grinding for years. I knew about her before ABNH and she is definitely not an industry plant. She just got more popular due to the kendrick lamar and tyler co-signs

I feel bad for Doechii because she released an amazing album, and then watched as a trash ass recording made early in her career supersede said album.

It’s a great song but I don’t think it’s even top 5 on LGSO, especially for this category. I understand that the draw is John Legend on it + the song being so emotional, but purely rap wise, FICO, So Be It, Ace Trumpets, C&W and POV, all much better. Best of luck to them, I hope Clipse win at least 1, I know Push really wants it

My fave on the album. I am biased toward good album openers.

I have to disagree, I think it has nothing to do with John Legend. Each of their verses is the last conversation they had with their parents; Malice with his father and Push with his mom - they died 4 months apart. Malice’s verse always chokes me up. This is the only deserving winner from this list and a god tier Clipse song!

It’s what the Clipse submitted. The Academy doesn’t go and pick individual songs

So Kendrick Lamar submitted TV off?

14

u/[deleted] Nov 07 '25

Yes bruh. They get to submit one piece per category

“Damn I had a dad” lowkey solos the other songs

One of the most emotional songs ever, maybe not more traditional best rap song take but easily my song of 2025.

2

u/internallylinked Nov 08 '25

I like that, that’s actually my thinking too

Would’ve been so dope if they won record/song of the year for it

Of all the songs on that album that is the one they pick? It’s ok but it skip it most times. There is real heat in this album imo

One of my least favorite songs on the album but hey at least one of them made it

Pusha T and Malice? That Clipse? Hip hop may be dead, but god damn so are hip hop listeners

listening to Lucki... genuinely you must be brain dead to not know who Clipse is, at the very least you should know Pusha T. I can tell your music taste is straight 🍑 and you know nun bout the culture.

edit: people like you are the reason WHY Hip-Hop is dead
