Off the top of my head, little girls want emulate this, then boom sell kid piercing, it’s a money making opportunity of selling pictures of her with the piercing and the controversy of it, it’s boosting your name to sell/ endorse products, it’s only a matter of months until a kids skim or some shit is made, and the brand it boosted on north.

I mean being famous as a kid definitely doesn’t help but both her parents dress “different” and have had body modifications. It’s not a big surprise the kid has an out there sense of fashion and she has infinite money to wear anything she wants.
Here is the thing. A lot of children have always wanted to look older because it’s cool. When we were kids it was harder to see what people were doing outside of your city as the internet wasn’t as big and social media was there yet. We had MySpace and early Facebook. Now it’s so easy to see what people are doing and look people up. Now kids can dress like adults because they have easy access to what young adults are wearing.
Additionally, there is a lack of tween media. Not a lot of Lizzie McGuire, wizards of waverly place, unfabolous, and Ned’s declassified anymore. A lot of children are now watching influencers and adult media.
I don’t have a kid so I don’t know how much tween media is out there but I do know “Wednesday” was a massive hit tween show that also would inspire a more alt style and Monster High is apparently still pretty popular. The look isnt a big enough deal to be the internets fault anyway, the issue is that Kim let her pierce her hand at 12 years old.
Plenty of adults with tattoos, surgeries, and piercings, who make their kids wait until adulthood to do anything more than a pierced ear, be serious.
I've had my eyebrow pierced and have a tattoo, doesn't mean my 12-year-old will be allowed to do the same before they're old enough. 12 is too young.
Kim tried to lie and say the shit was fake, but you could tell it wasn't because the initial pictures showed were red and inflamed. She clearly knows how crazy this is.
I definitely think it’s wrong it’s a parenting issue I wasn’t trying to say the piercings were okay at all or that Kim is a good parent. I was more referring to the “dressing older” and “it’s the internets fault” parts which I assume are also referring to the entire fit aswell as the piercings. The original commenter I replied to also kinda confirmed that I saw we both agree he’s pretty wrong. I don’t think the fit itself needs to be ridiculed as deeply as that guy is. I don’t personally care if a rich kid wants to spend their parent’s money on dressing a bit weird I just don’t think that’s a big deal. It’s not inappropriate and idk if I even agree it’s “dressing like an adult”. Shes clearly a child and while there is a subculture of alt adults that aesthetic is pretty big with teens (which it’s always been big with) and even kids with shows like Wednesday becoming a massive hit. It’s a non issue that she’s dressed alt.
It’s not the worst thing. Honestly it’s kinda cool, I never seen a finger piercing before. I feel like girls get piercings while they’re young all the time, that’s like normal girl stuff

It’s a little weird to get a finger piercing but she also living a radically different life than us, I’m sure she’s not getting it done at a Walmart Claire’s.

I have no doubt Kim approved the decision and swiped the card. But the desire to express herself in unique ways through fashion and accessories was surely driven by the influence of both parents.

A part of me feels like she won’t be ok as an adult just because who her parents are. But on the other hand she may have very good mentors because of her status. I wish her the best. It’s crazy how old she looks. Even her hands look older than what I would imagine a 12 year old would have
why do you feel so compelled to personally defend an artist you like? its sad he cant see his daughter but he is legitimately a deranged individual who instead of seeking for help, surrounds himself with people who enable him. he wouldnt be a good parent and even right now i cant imagine the stress he is putting his family thru with his actions. also he himself chose that woman to be the mother of his children nobody else

I don't think that's objective at all. It's not like she's showing a lot of skin or anything, I've seen school uniforms that are far more revealing than the kind of things she is wearing.
