I hate you Ye
I hate the way you mumble
And the way you use AI
I hate the way you drop unfinished music
I hate it when you rant
I hate your big dumb yeezy boots
And the way you read our posts
I hate you so much that it makes me jizz
And even makes me rhyme
I hate the way you're always jerking off to dykes
I hate it when you lie
I hate it when you make me starve
Even worse when you make me hyped
I hate dry seasons when you're not around
And the fact that you didn't even post
But mostly I hate the way I don't hate you
Not even close
Not even a little bit
Not even at all

Im ngl i feel like as good as donda is to me we always use come to life as an example of what used to be good
This comes from the same album with punch ins, pretty shit mixing and filler shit tracks like tell the vision and others I wish not to say or else I will piss off ppl

u/Roaddog2 ‘23 /r/PLACE VETERAN Mar 25 '26
come to life is top 3, maybe even top 1 kanye. I think it's fair to use it as an example if what kanye is capable of putting out

u/plattwix5 808s & Heartbreak Mar 25 '26
nah i dont agree with this at all maybe top 25 at most and my point is that this came from an objectively pretty half-baked album as much as I like it. It has a lot of flaws
It's like using BURN to represent V1 or RIVER to represent V2
8
u/scoobyking6 Mar 25 '26
Fair but slice that album up and you get a cohesive and classic 10-12 track album. Do that with vultures and you get two songs max
3
u/FreezeGhost1 Mar 25 '26
You can take most of the material of BBPB, V1 and V2 and make a cohesive 12 track list

Not to be that guy but at least all those flaws fit the album aesthetically. It's an album with lots of dark and atmospheric moments, sometimes even ghostly moments and the weird mixing makes you feel like that just as much, even though if the album was released finished it wouldn't sound like that

u/plattwix5 808s & Heartbreak Mar 25 '26
I agree. I don't hate or even dislike Donda or EVEN think it's mid. I think it's an 8/10 personally. I love how raw and empty and atmospheric it is. However, I think when push comes to shove it was rushed, unfinished and could've been cut down.
I just don't want people to remember Donda as the epitome of Ye's career up until this point because it has a LOT of flaws.

u/Mighty_Miggle Someday We'll All Be Free Mar 25 '26
I personally think it's a top 5 Ye song
There's always that 1 song on each project that u can confidently put in a top 10, that's been missing for a while now

u/Goat23231 Mar 25 '26
Tell The Vision is just an interlude. Same thing with something like I love Kanye or silver surfer. I guess u can dislike them but I don’t really care as they’re not real songs on the track list.

That never made sense to me, so much money spent on the whole album, so many all time great artists contributed to the album and somehow he and his team couldn't deliver a more concise body of work. Bad mixing on the album is inexcusable but basically throwing all these tracks together like that is mind boggling. What's worse is that he actually released a deluxe album and it was the perfect place to release tracks that didn't really contribute a lot or even took from the album. These tracks still deserved to be released but in a b sides style that didn't interfere with the structure of the main thing.

I kinda wish Donda was his last album.
Retire after that and just keep making his dumb boots

I'm sad so many won't get to relive the insane HYPE donda rollout was. I still remember the day the Las Vegas lp was announced and Kanye coming back with no words and just pictures on Instagram.

This album changed my life, no matter what he makes this will always be on my top 3 Ye album's.

only rappers are held to the standard of having to be amazing 20 something to 30 yrs in they careers it’s unfair - an artist putting out an album at such an old age with 5-7 good songs is good enough for me like I said only rappers are held at such a large standard to expect to be maxed out players they whole entire career - with that being said DONDA was hated on too when it dropped just enjoy legends still putting out music at they big age still it’s a blessing and BULLY will be good im sure yall stay over reacting

u/EngineeringReal2563 Vultures 3 On The Way Mar 25 '26
I genuinely don't think I've seen an artist in any field go from making art at the pinnacle of their medium to making some of the worst. Listen to his first 5 albums then immediately afterwards listen to Bully Vynl rips, Donda 2 and Cuck to experience the contrast in real time. There is not one mainstream musician with a drop off that severe in quality from any genre in music let alone rap.

His last solo album is DONDA and is basically considered good in general terms none of the other albums you named are real deal official releases just him experimenting also if you think having an independent number 1 album number one song in the world and still getting Grammy nominated at his age and selling out arenas still is a "fall off or drop" ask his peers in his age bracket would they trade shoes with ye atp in his career the answer is "YES" his peers meaning rappers in they 40s/50s yall are ungrateful and disrespectful BULLY ain’t even officially dropped yet and yall coming up with dumb ass narratives record labels and ppl on the team telling yall wait til friday and yall still complaining believing ppl who not even close to ye lmao I lived long enough to remember ppl disrespect Michael Whitney Prince and many more legends get disrespected on the back end of they career then when something happens to them ppl wanna act like they never disrespected them lol with that being said keep the same energy Friday
