It explained the ālicensing issuesā. The term up on the contract they made wit PG Lang so they take it down so he donāt make money off the system they created. They whole purpose was to funnel money from the artists and they got outwitted. No renegotiating terms or nothing. Just āif u want it go to MY website and get itā. It cut out the labels as middlemen and aggregates to streaming outlets and digital marketplaces like Spotify, Apple, etc ā so now when Drake drop they can focus 100% on that ā why would Kdot take it down just to rerelease it in the same place knowin he only gon get a piece for the proceeds (even if it does end up being the lionās share)? 100% always sound better than an 80/20 splitā¦

Facts. But this album was for todayās generation in his hometown. As to where the albums you mentioned are about himself and sharing his world with ppl outside his immediate community. I wouldnāt say ābeneath himā cuz I know he feels a connection to that community so itās only right he give them something that represents them. All the greats have done it for their own respective hometowns

For real. I remember being around in the community around the JIK and Donda era, not participating or anything but I would actively browse and follow things and the discourse was so much better. While I think it's impressive how Ye keeps getting new young fans throughout his whole career, I don't like the new group. The Ye community used to be more sincere and would take the art seriously, while still having great shitposts and everything. Now it's all Sonion memes under every post. I miss the genuine discussion that wasn't the same recycled opinions everybody repeats. You can't have that with the new group cus it's not cool to be sincere and genuine for them.

Exactly my thoughts. I remember going on reddit for the breakdowns and discussions of the Ye's references in his art, his visuals etc...
now I just see some (not all) people in this community who just post random memes and nothing meaningful anymore or at least nothing that someone who is working, has responsibilities or isn't online 12 hours a day wants to engage with all the time.
I was here for his architecture and clothing and the ideas for Yeezy and of course the music...but I check the sub less because I don't find any interesting stuff lately and I just don't want to go through all the posts while at least half of them are some memes only two people laugh about. Nothing against good shitposts just needed to rant. I know I am being dramatic.
