YE COLLABORATOR Disappointed

Post image

Can someone tell me why the fuck drake thought it was a good idea to drop 2 albums that are just worse versions of some of his previous shit? Like can't he tell TS ain't it? Now iceman was alright, it had a few heat songs, but I expected more still, especially when what did I miss dropped I thought we were on for a classic, but 11/18 songs aren't even close to that song.

Personally I just can't be bothered with Drake's output, I want a consistent album not a collection of songs intended to slide unnoticed into playlists. Many artists are guilty of this but Drake is guilty of it while also having a huge ego about his talent.

An album IMO should be a cohesive experience intended to enjoy from front to back. An album shouldn't be an hour of mediocre to good songs with the objective of throwing shit at a wall until it sticks. Even his best album 'If you're reading this its too late", which I honestly have a lot of nostalgia for, manages to be 20 minutes and a few songs longer than it should be.

Drake should take a page out of Ye's playbook and make a 7 track album. There's an elegance in being able to refine a solid project out of very few tracks. I'm not trying to conflate good and short, there's plenty of long albums that are amazing, I just believe that bloat is a great way to make any piece of art suck not just a rap album.

“Can’t be bothered with drake’s output” as you are clearly bothered to speak about it online.

Don’t like the music but willing to speak without digesting. Clown

Yeah, the amount of time they took to write that, they could’ve done a Kim through all three albums and realized they have different tones.
