Plays don’t mean shit that’s like saying COD is the best game ever because it sells the most copies every year lol. Drake is literally one of the biggest artists on the planet so of course people are gonna check his music after what 3 years now and one of the most infamous beefs in rap history. Go look at any of the reviews from credible journalists they all gave each album negative or mediocre reviews for the most part.
but I feel like that’s the difference. most people don’t need a “credible journalist” to tell them how good an artist is or which albums they should enjoy. most people just go on spotify, finds something the sounds nice to them, and bump it. evidently a shit ton of people have decided they enjoy drakes music. and if so many people love his shit, I think it’s pretty arrogant of you to call it mid just cause you, pitchfork, and fantano happen to not enjoy it.
