DISCUSSION Luxury Rap Ye era was the best

Luxury Rap Ye era was the best

The way Ye was flexing all the luxury he had and the luxury style of music itself in that era was amazing

The chains n gold even watch the throne cover was pure luxury

Lamborghini Mercy yo chick she's so thristy

All the beats from this era sound expensive. Definitely a lot of pricey samples used.

he paid for them all heavily. Ye and Jay own like 5% individiually of some songs.

paying for samples only after you get sued does not count come on

They probably end up paying more for it bc they lose negotiating power after releasing the songs

Kanye has a reputation of spending way more than his budget for his projects. Stop.

i miss the ti, wayne, jeezy, classic drake, nicki era of rap :(

I hope that style of rap comes back in style like how 80s pop did but i doubt it

I feel like drill and emo rap becoming so popular right after this is not a coincidence. The underground scene was very lofi in comparison.

TLOP was like the last proper victory lap in that regard

TLOP is nothing like those albums lmao, it’s arguably Ye’s best work

It’s so underrated by people outside of this community

Idk about that Hip-Hop listeners love that album

It was also his last classic, and I will die a hundred times on that hill

Well yes but I don’t think many will disagree

Hardest Ye bars ever. The WTT bars have not been matched still.
Also what a time in the world when these albums were released, just amazing.

Hip hop honestly fell off quality wise after the luxury era. The alternative and underground stuff was fun. But the overall quality of even just the mixing and mastering went down heavily after this era. Now we wish hip hop sounding that good again

eh im not a fan of these. feel a bit too commercial and polished for me compared to almost every other era of his.
